Thanks so much, Lindsay! I love using scraps to alter my rolodex cards and I’m sure you will enjoy yours, too! BTW, I’ve been a subscriber of your channel for several years and have watched and enjoyed so many of your videos. Thank you for all the inspiration you provide! 😊
I do appreciate your comment about coming out of perfection. I want so much to enjoy my crafting at a new level. I’m 60 now and my eyesight and dexterity is not what it was. I’m an accountant and I am tired of the tedium of absolutes, I want to joyfully fly and experience my crafting in all its good outcomes and embracing the stumbles along the way - and like Gayle A I say “that’s ok” and I smile and craft on. Thank you Cat for your videos - in this crazy world I can feel joy crafting along with you.
Your comment about being 60 with poor eyesight grabbed my heart. Thought I'd share with you that I'm 79 and went for new glasses last November. Was told I had cataracts. Short story: got removed, IOL's in, no pain. Can read without glasses. True colors restored! Like a miracle. Perhaps you could check if this solution would apply to you. Btw, I was informed that the majority of people by age 60 have cataracts. Wishing you the best, and joyful crafting!
@@reginakeller3038 Thank you so much for your comment. I have auto immune issues and my eyesight is in the condition it's in because of chronic iritis, but I have a great doc. I had the lens in my left eye replace with an artificial lens when I was in my 40's due to severe cataracts cause by steroid drops and other complications. My right eye does have a cataract but at this time it is not developed enough to be replaced. The surgery can set off my immune system so our plan is not to do it until it becomes unmanageable, and I'm not there yet. I still work and drive only using reading type corrective lens. My left eye can't be corrected it has damage to the retina, my right eye is sort of in normal aging with a few extra issues. But still my passion is crafting I have a room dedicated to it. So I work hard, so I can play hard. Again, thank you for your suggestion, it's appreciated.
@@junewright3506 Oh June, thanks for letting me know what your eyesight problems are, much more than I have had, and you're still engaging in crafting nevertheless. My respectful regards to you. Your continuing desire to do what you find possible is wonderful. I'll copy your attitude and resolve! Best wishes, joyful crafting! 🤗
I am also trying to not be so fussy and perfect. It is really hard but really fulfilling when I’m not. It does blow ones mind when coincidences happen and I always wonder why, this was a really awesome one.
So much fun to watch, I feel the joy you get from making your little pieces of art with your roladex treasures and your tags! I am a crafter too, but only in the past few weeks that I have been very interested in the roladex craze. I have dabbled in many crafts over my 60 plus years, so my wheels are spinning while watching, how can I put my life of crafting into a teeny tiny piece of art to enjoy, either with tags, roladex cards or in a journal. Feelings of excitement, joy! Thanks so much for your inspirational videos.
Thank you, Elizabeth. Yes, I get a tremendous amount of joy from creating these little cards! I usually just use my leftover scraps from previous projects and then add an image and/or words. It’s very rewarding to use the little pieces, that are often just thrown in the trash, to make something fun. I’m so glad that you are excited to give it a go! Happy creating! 😊😊😊
I love your Rolodex Cards. They are so creative and the colors are beautiful. I love all the little details. Thank you so much for all the inspiration!! 😊❤
you were the first person I started to follow with art journaling and projects - you are still my favourite ro watch - so happy to hear I don't have to be perfect! What is perfect anyway? A man made Idea - not creativity's idea! I love how you explain what and why you do things! Super helpful!
WOW 😮 WOW 😮 WOW 😮 That card with 24 on it being the 24th card, is amazing too. Thank you so much Cat, I really really love 💕 all of these cards, all those bits that you collect, WOW 😮 and how you use them, is magical. Stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Just discovered you! Soo grateful to see your creations! And 24? 24th card? 24 hours in a day by your clock? 24 on the calendar page included? 24 on your tag? Your lucky number!
Thanks so much, Anne, and welcome to my channel! Yes, I love those serendipitous moments when I’m creating - so fun! Thank you for watching and commenting - I hope to see you again soon! 😊
I love this series! Love all your vibrant colors and your fabulous style, too. Crazy how the #24 was actually the 24th card. I can't believe you made the connection and counted!!! TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe.
Thanks, Evelyn. I knew I didn’t have many cards made yet, so I just thought there was a *very remote* possibility... But I never imagined that that particular card would end up actually being number 24! CrAzY! 😁😁😁
Cat, I just LOVED these four Rolodex cards !!!!! So adorable and your talent just seems to be blooming with everything you do....LOL, if that's possible!!!! You started out having, (in my opinion) by far the most talent of any mixed media artist here!!!! You're my inspiration person always!!!!! Hugs to you!!!!
Love these cards. I love the "No. 24" story, also... I am always looking for correlations like that.... especially numeric! Also, note on the calendar piece - same card - 24 is in the center... both vertically and horizontally! That card is special!!! Love your work - such an inspiration.
As someone who has actually cut out and framed an image of a rug, and as a cat lover, the kitty card is my favorite. But, you did a fabulous job of 'extending' the painting. That's exactly what it looks like. You never fail to inspire me. ~ Lisa
That perfection can be a killer! I started getting over it in grad school, but still found it hard to share my work until recently. The 24th card thing reminds me of Jung's concept of synchronicity, the meaningful coincidence. Ember
I wasn't familiar with that concept, Neora, and I researched it a bit and found it SO interesting! I have a concept of my own, and I call it the "What Are the Odds" theory, and it's stuff for example like when you go to turn in your driveway at 3 a.m. and there are no other cars on the road anywhere that you can see and (we live on a main road) EXCEPT FOR the one that goes right by you in the opposite direction in front of your driveway at the exact time that you're going to turn in! Start noticing this, and you'll see that it happens all the time! I found out that there's actually a name for this phenomena too, but I can't remember the actual name for it. But for me the important thing is to tell my grandchildren, when they start driving, about the concept. It's sort of like always expecting the unexpected. Anyway, I believe in God and that He actually has things in His control, and when things happen that you don't understand, the most important "concept" to remember is that He will RESTORE all things one day -- that's a promise! Sorry for such a lengthy reply; also, that synchronicity happens OFTEN in your work, Cat, i've made note of it numerous times when you happened to mention it, and I bet it happens even more often than that! The cards are beautiful, as always!! TFS :)
You are so creative!!! Loved what you did with the painterly girl, and the vintage one! Love them all tho. Too funny about the no. 24!!! 😆. Thanks for always inspiring me ❤️
Beautiful little works of art (as always), Cat! I continue to be amazed at how much the outlining of the edges, images, and words adds to the cards. It just really makes the artwork "pop." Thanks again for another great video!

Love your work!! I am curious about your table background. I love the wood look but I think it must be a crafting mat of some kind. I would love to know more about it. Thank you!! Great story about the #24!!
Thanks, Andrea! 😊 My table surface is a piece of masonite board that I covered with wood-look contact paper. Here's a link to the one I have: amzn.to/2ZnhStd It's good for filming and non-messy projects, but a teflon-coated craft mat is still the best surface for paint, glue, etc., as it cleans up MUCH easier.
It's 11:30 at night and I have insomnia again.....I was so excited and happy when I saw you have done another video of your amazing Rolodex cards they are so inspiring. Thought about getting up and trying to make one but it is midnight lol
@7:47 I love how you edit your video's. That sound made me laugh out loud. I think some younger viewers know what cutting a rug is, but don't know the sound. 😅
@@CatHand I couldn't imagine sending you a PLAIN envelope! ☺ The lady at the post office got a kick out of it. I've only attempted a couple of collages, and small ones at that. I decided to just jump in and see what happened. It means a lot to me that you liked it. 😻
Love all these. Do you cut the notches for the Rolodex out or do you have a punch? I used to make my own Rolodex cards when I actually used one for phone numbers and couldn’t find the refills for it and I cut those notches with scissors for each one. It was kind of a pain. A punch would be nice.
These are cute! I just bought a rolodex die at a thrift shop and a viewer recommended your series! Im glad she did!
