- Another unboxing video coming at you! In today's video I unbox a ton of plants for some terrarium and vivarium builds. I feel like it was about time to place a nice plant order and here it is.
A lot of you guys ask me where I get my plants. I like to shop around and don't have a single location, but I have ordered from Glass House Works many times. With over 6 shipments of plants, in a span of about 8 years, I have no complaints. Their selection includes some pretty cool/unique plants that seem to be exclusive to them.

Disclaimer: As stated, these plants aren't sold exclusively for use in vivariums with animals. So they will need to be cleaned thoroughly and quarantined before use. However, some preventative measures should be taken anyways, regardless of the source.

WOW... I can't believe we just reached 100k subscribers. My most sincerest thanks goes out to all of you for making a dream of mine possible. I have a formal video coming out about this, so I won't say much here. However I had no expectation that this would ever go anywhere. Could you make a video on how you quarentine your plants and what to look for in a plant that may need special attention? I'm trying to learn about these things before I dive into making vivariums and I want to do things right the first time. Thanks for all the awesome vids and congrats on the 100k subs!

This video actually convinced me to try buying from these folks. The plants came in today, and they all look great! The packaging is fantastic, and everything is nice and healthy. And they threw in a free cryptanthus with my order!

really enjoyed this haul! I would be interested in an update video once all these plants have been planted and have had time to settle in and mature a bit!
That's the plan actually. I want to do a plant tour in the near future.
You want to get rid of (cut out) the all white leaves on the Ficus, I believe it's reversion and should it take hold the whole plant will stop producing the variegated leaves (you'll want to do the same with the all green shoots too if you get any)

Could you make a video about plants of that nature please? Like, plants that are ok with humidity and look esthetic or something like that.

What do you do to clean these for vivarium/palludarium use? To remove all pesticides and chemical fertilizers? Do you check for pests and what do you do to destroy the pests? Can you do a video on that?
You have had better luck ordering from Glasshouse Works than I have. But then again, I ordered succulents and I don't think they've really mastered the art of succulents. One was even badly diseased... *sigh* But good to see that yours were happy and healthy. I'll reconsider them when I tackle my first terrarium.

I’m building a hot/dry desert vivarium for a pair of Pacific Gopher Snakes, and I’ve found a variety of plants that I think might do OK but I was wondering if you had any suggestions of xeric type plants that could take a beating from the snakes? Also looking at cleanup crews I’m thinking beetles are my best bet. Thanks, Ronan

What's the chances of doing another clip similar to this? I'm new to the hobby and trying to figure out some new plants for my 1st major project and this was just perfect! Maybe a clip on your favourite Rainforest Paludarium plants?

By chance can you make a video on how you keep your plants and quarantine them and what area kind of of your house please. I want to see ideas of how to keep mine. What lights do you like, what shelving if any, what kind of room is good and how do you do space management thank you very much.
Yeah I can cover it eventually. However I will say that I simply keep them in bins with a foam gasket under an LED shop light. Shelf and placement really don't matter. Wherever you have room or what you can afford will work.

How do you go about treating your plants to be terrarium safe?
Usually I just wash them really well in warm water, remove anything visible if present (i.e. scale) and replant them. From there I quarantine them for a decent amount of time (1-3 months) and monitor for anything that I don't want.

Hey serpadesign, would creeping fig be good as a high plant in a crested gecko cage? Or what would be good for a high plant so they have leaves to climb and hang

Obviously you have an awesome green thumb with your plants but I'm curious as to how many of these plants that you buy (either in person or shipped) survive? I bought several small plants from a recent reptile expo for a future dart frog vivarium. Some of them are doing really well (ficus pumila, selagenella, pepperomia) and some are barely staying alive (ribbon fern, maidenhair fern). Any special type of water you use? Maybe my tap water is too much for them. I want to get plants on the fly like you do but I'm always worried they won't survive.

But your neon pothos just looked like a regular pothos... a neon pothos doesn’t have that kind of variation. Could be a marble queen but I doubt that. :)
Thanks! Also it's not a Marble Queen, it's a Gold Pothos (I had the correct name up in the vid). I always get the neon and gold mixed up because the neon is almost gold in color.

Hello! I was just randomly wondering if you would consider getting a gold dust day gecko as a showcase animal for one of you vivariums?
I would get a Day Gecko for sure, but it would either be the Electric Blue or Giant Day Gecko.

I’m surprised that the plants were in such good condition after being shipped. Whenever I order houseplants or plants for my garden from a website or catalog, they always look chewed up and ragged!
