Oh nice to see those cuties. Beautiful and colorful. Love the form of Gertii seedlings and the double headed one. The astros so cute. Looking forward to see them in their new pots. It’s ok if you lost some, you still got loads. 💚🌵
Thank you so much, Katherine 😊 I hope that double headed one survives, first time I’ve had a seedling like that. And yes some interesting forms with a lot of these, looking forward to potting them up and hopefully they’ll put on a lot of new growth this year. Thank you for watching and commenting as always, Katherine. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌸🌺🌼🏜
BRILLIANT video on the update of your cactus seedlings and the Mars Hydro grow tent and TS1000 grow light, so sorry to see some of your seedlings had rot, but wonderful news you still have lots of cuties left and they are looking so cute, and you have a really wonderful selection of many different cactus seedlings, and WOW at the adorable Astro and Frailea seedlings, and we are so looking forward to seeing the pricking out videos, thanks so much for sharing the amazing update Daz, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Edith lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to England and Singapore for a wonderful afternoon and evening ahead XXXX
Thank you so much again, Lyn 😊 Yeah leaving them sealed for 8 months was far too long, I should have known better 🤦🏻♂️ Luckily nomore have showed any signs of rot. Looking forward to getting these all out of those pots though and into some nice new soil. Thank you so much again Lyn for watching and commenting, have a wonderful afternoon and evening from Edith & myself to you and Hans ❤️🌵☀️🌸🌺🌼🏜

Thank you so much, Clyde 😊 Yeah still plenty of nice healthy ones left. I knew I was pushing my luck though leaving them sealed for that long and paid the price for it. Hoping to get them all potted up into community trays today, the compost is meant to be delivered this afternoon. Thank you for watching and commenting as always my friend, have a wonderful day and weekend from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜
Great to see all the cactus seedlings again, and I love the cute astrophytum asterias, they look amazing, as always! Happy transplanting and hope the cactus you chose to thin out transition well for you in their new pots, lovely Gymnocalycium too! 😁😆🌵🌞🌵🌞🌵🌞
Thank you so much, Claire 😊 Yeah the asterias are doing very well, happy with the growth on those. Looking forward to potting these up into some fresh new soil. Decided to try out some different compost for these, just waiting for it to be delivered. Thank you for watching and commenting as always, Claire. Have a wonderful evening from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜
Ah the joy in sowing seeds from friends’ and your own plants! ❤️ happy that most of them look healthy and are doing good, Sweetheart. I saw some with very good potential. Love this update and so excited for when you pot them up! Well done, Sweetheart. ❤️🤗😘🥰❤️
Thank you my love 🥰 Yeah it’s always nice to sow seeds from friends and our own plants and seeing them grow over the months, just wish I’d have unsealed them sooner, I won’t be making that mistake with the Haworthia seedlings! There’s definitely some interesting looking seedlings and forms, a lot will be keepers 😁 Thank you as always babe for all your love, support and encouragement ❤️🥰🤗😘❤️
Thank you, Seb 😊 Looking forward to getting all these potted up. Thank you for watching and commenting as always, have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜
Thank you so much, Magda 😊 Yeah is a shame about the rot issues, but my own fault. I won’t be leaving seedlings sealed for that long again. Thank you for watching and commenting as always, Magda. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌸🌺🌼🏜
Pretty fast growing seedlings I would say. The light and the tent probably doing their job. 😃👍🏼 I forgot, did your containers have holes in the bottom? Oh, lots of potting up videos of those little seedlings coming up from you. And yes, I like the experiments that you suggested.
Thank you so much, Ana 😊 Yeah I’m happy with how these seedlings have done, not so happy with the rot but that’s my own fault lol. Yeah those containers have holes drilled in the bottom. I will do those two experiments, I’m interested to see the results myself 😊 Thank you for watching and commenting as always, Ana. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌺🏜☕️
Nice vide Daz! Most of them have grown really nicely except for a few that rotted. The Mars Hydro Grow Light & TS1000 Grow Light seem to be doing their job well. And I can only imagine the number of new pots you’ll be having once you repot them. Yeah. I’ll be waiting to see your repotting video for the young seedlings. Greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾 to the UK 🇬🇧 and Singapore 🇸🇬
Thank you so much, Molly 😊 Yeah so far so good with the grow tent and light combo, they’re doing well. I’ve got some trays being delivered for when these get potted up, I wouldn’t have the room to pot them up individually haha. Yeah it is a shame some rotted but that’s my own fault for leaving them sealed for so long, lesson learnt though. Thank you for watching and commenting as always, Molly. Have a wonderful evening from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌸🌺🌼🏜
Thank you. Yeah I shall do a little experiment with the plastic vs terracotta pots, it will be interesting to compare the plants growth rate in each. Thank you for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌼🏜
Another great video mate... lots of nice wee seedlings to spend hrs and hrs potting up 😅😅...your own gymnos looked real nice and very stable aswell as most looked the same 👍👍
Cheers mate. Haha yeah that’s gonna be a several hour job pricking those all out and potting them up 😂 Yeah Katherine went crazy with the pollination on her Gymnos so a lot of them are going to be hybrids, some interesting looking forms on some of them though. Cheers for watching and commenting mate 👍🏻🌵☀️🏜
Thank you 😊 Growing cacti from seed they pretty much take care of themselves for the first few months being sealed, but not for 8 months haha, that’s too long. Thank you for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌸🌼🏜
Hello Mr Daz,,,ive been enjoying your videos for quite a few years and from time to time i have to vo back and re-watch ur vids that teach us how to do certain tasks--Like acclimating new seeds from out of their original humid based housing they have been used to since Day 1!!! I am about ready to start acclimating my own cacti seeds soon, i use the plastic baddie method which i have had Excellent luck with. But this time was ghe FIRST time ive actually had some problems with algea & some damping off!! I even steralyzed my pot like EXTRA good this time so go figure. But my question to you is, Have you found anything succussful in filling the algae or mold that may get on the seedlings while they are growing??? The internet obviously suggests Alot of different things but i dont WANT to use my cactuses babies as guinnea pigs!! I want to know exactly what will work b4 i start putting these strong chemicals on them, possibly making thungs even worse!! If u can suggest anything, i would gruly appreciate it!! As far as the plasuc baggie method, i figure i will just unzip an inch each week till they are fully open vetting full air! Does that sound good to you?? I TRULY enjoy ur vids! Keep up the Excellent work!!! Its always great to meet others that have a passion JUST as great as my own is!!! Its alot of fun, they are like my 2nd family!!! .Sincerely,Anita 🌵✌️😊
There isn't really anything to stop that. Algae and moss growth doesn't hurt the seedlings directly and will usually die off once the seedlings are out of their bags. Things like fine sand or grit can suppress it, though. Damping off can occur no matter how clean things are, unfortunately. As for unsealing them, you can unseal the bags a little bit each day until they're fully exposed to some fresh air. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜
Awesome! I’m planning my first grow and I’m so happy to know that others are growing under lights in tents. May I ask what your temps look like? Are you growing under lights after they’re acclimated?
Thank you 😊 Do you mean temps inside the grow tent? If so, this time of year during the summer they’re quite high during the day, mid 30’s C. I usually start seedlings off under grow lights then transfer them to the grow tent after they’re about a year old. Good luck with your plants. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌸🌼🏜
Had a huge problem with watching this vid in one go? But,I got there in the end.yes looking forward to the next Procedure, but I must ask,in nature, would the seedlings Get anywhere near one hundred percent humidity in Their natural environment?.?mane of the seedlings May come from a different climate on the same Continents, North and South America, by simply Growing at a much higher altitude. It's just a thought to maybe help understand The rot problem, still, there was plenty of success, Well done,Bill.
Certain types wouldn’t get the humidity they need to germinate at all. I don’t leave them sealed for as long now, about 4 months maximum. Thanks for watching and commenting, have a wonderful day and weekend from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌺🏜
@@Cactimania is the amount of time variable? Like say, if you notice some cobweb mold after 1.5 months, is that a sign that they need more fresh air? As long as you're slowly introducing them to fresh air is it OK to do it a bit earlier? My area is humid so I'm guessing that has a lot to do with it
@@derekflow Yeah I’d personally give them more air with any signs of mould growth. You can unseal them any time really, it’s just if you unseal them when they’re very young it’s important to still keep the soil moist. If they go through that wet/dry cycle when they’re too young it can stress them out and stunt their growth or even kill them. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌼🏜
