Hi brother M, it has been a long time since I wrote to you last. I am one of the Australian GB players who has followed your TH-cam channel for almost 4 years now. I saw the rise and rise of GB's to the point of gas blow back.
Then it was China first that started the closure of Gel Blasters (GB's) and you went quiet after a confusing time. A little foray into foam dart guns but no enthusiasm I felt. With the laws changed, I still do not know what is actually the situation in China regarding GB toys?
Then Australia went crazy, one state, Queensland actually worked with the police and has a good relationship running, both New South Wales and Victoria are completely banned past and present, Tasmania is unknown...first is was OK if they were clear shelled toys or SciFi designs, then it changed and anything was ok and then another change I heard and nothing was allowed unless you were in a registered club. So, there it is a mystery!
Western Australia lasted longer, then out of no where the chief of police and the minister of police, both decided to ban them 100 percent. They said these could be made into real firearms with simple modifications 🤔. Who knows what world they live in, but I would not like to try that and I served 30 years in the Army.
South Australia, where I live was the worst, it went to court and we literally had the police and the government in a losing court case, based on their information of ballistics and facts. Something I was able to contribute to.
In a typical government department move they delayed the hearing, twice and during that time they changed the laws that applied to owning replica guns. This placed all our GB's in the middle of one of the firearms categories and they then offered our legal people a way out without costs because now we were certain to lose.
So, New laws were applied and all GB's in South Australia must be registered as a firearm, placed in a proper and secure gun safe, registration numbers issued and paid for each blaster (once only) and the owner has to do firearm training (for a gel blaster) $110, and be licensed to own them in my State. Each GB costs $40 registration, paid once only, A license is $100 per year with a 5 year maximum license, but after all this, you cannot own a real firearm! Oh, a gun safe for my seven blasters, cost $350, a once off also.
So, I was wondering if you could outline the situation in China, from the time they started to close players down till now and what the effect has been on manufacturers, retailers and players. I think after playing catch up tonight on your last seven videos, I saw that you used water blasting gun, foam dart gun, and water ball gun, plus you mentioned airsoft somewhere when I was watching some old memories again 🤩🤩🤩

It’s sad to tell u ,for normal people there’s no laws in china the situation is kind of complicated, for example normally u can buy or play gel blaster but the police can still break into ur house take away all ur blaster even though u haven’t break any laws :/

@@Patrick-xt8wp I had a very good friend in Beijing, he was raided and was a very prolific writer on TH-cam. Anyway, the news came in that it was only going to stop in the southern parts of China ;) then out of the blue he was raided and threatened with jail time. His collection was huge and they took everything. He was eventually let off with a warning, that if he ever touched another blaster he would do time in jail instantly. He was terrified, he had a wife and two children and did not want them to be involved. Yet, three months later he saw that the group he was a member of was still actively playing in the same location.
Maybe it was because he was born in Hong Kong, lived and did his schooling in Australia and then moved to mainland China when he married and got a job. He obviously used a VPN to make TH-cam videos and was a big supporter of Uncle AK the shop that sold a lot of the early 239 mosfet control units as well as other innovative things that really worked well.
My last few contacts with him via wechat, he had tried going in a different direction, such as full 3D immersion technology, but eventually he was drawn back and tried NERF as a form to satisfy the beast within. I have tried several times to contact him over the last 18 months but I have not been able to reach him. I still think it would make a good story though, outlining what all the subject matters were that came into place. I have seen one of the laws imposed in China by the Government, enforcement seems to be done on a higher priority basis, with toy guns not being as important now as other issues.

@@spartan5921 its sorry to hear about ur friend i hope u can reach him soon.
in my opinion the reson why they take this serious than anyother issues is because the last thig their Government want is to see people strating revolution so even though its a toy as long as they think it looks like a gun ,its quite a big and complex problem which is hard to solve because its deep inside the system.

@@Patrick-xt8wp Yes, that was one of the mandated laws I had read. All blasters had to be built with a crazy mix of criteria at that time. FPS not to exceed 140, dimensions had to be either 1/3 smaller or 1/4 larger than the original, visible changes to the exact physical copy and yet we see some pretty good stuff still. I just watched the Ruger mini 14 and remember owning a real one here many years ago. Not a folding stock though. Our laws did not change anything on our specifications, but the cost is ...OH so painful, I am thinking seriously about my future in the sport. :(
