I've always had this perspective that everyone has their own individual god with their own individual rights/sins. Sure there are some that bleed over to everyone, but for the most part God is an individualistic concept. God may have told Adam and Eve not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, but that doesn't mean that EVERYBODY can't eat from that tree. People all process things differently, whether it be a food, a beverage, or even information. God may tell person A not to drink liquor because it turns them into a reckless monster, while person B is not predisposed to addiction and/or alcoholism so it is safer for them. If you read the bible as a series of perspectives of individuals, it seems so much more believable and realistic.
