    Love that you’re working with younger players

      agreed - this is the age that needs the most actual coaching IMO. Not just "throw harder!"

    The kid who learned his cutter in two pitches is going to be a great pitcher if he continues on this path. Solid arm for that age, good willingness to try things, and ability to control the ball with various grips. Very cool to see the mic'd up footage, thanks for sharing!

      You are using the word "learned" way too loosely. It takes 10,000 reps to mastery, not 2

    What if you aren't pitching from stretch? Skip the crossover altogether?

      This is just a drill

      It’s teaching to move down the mound. Stretch or windup.

    Hi mat, I’m a 13 year old pitcher and you’re videos are very helpful. I was just wondering how hard those kids were throwing

      As a skateboarder for 20+ years, I can vouch for this. When explaining how to do a trick to someone, only explain how to do it right - never correct their form in terms of what they shouldn't do. Your mind and body will adjust to the correct way!

    Hey all, I was a my game 3 players on my team got struck out from a ball bouncing of the plate. Is it a strike or ball. I say ball. (Edit: and when I was pitching he was calling them balls. Is he being biased?)

    • @notnaveen4229
      @notnaveen4229 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jazzy Plays it depends cuz if it’s a hanging curve ball that the opponent threw there’s a chance that the ball went between the strike zone cuz I’m guessing ure like 9 so your fastball is gonna be called low cuz it drops. Hopefully this helps

    • @jjjones5535
      @jjjones5535 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not Naveen thanks. And yes there was no curve balls.

    Matt did you have family that played in the 1955? The reason I ask is because I have a 1955 Bowman baseball card and the last name is Antonelli

    Not a fan of young kids pitching like that just feel like young kids will overthink in games. But hey if it works it works
