You can always complain, send them back and get new sets - and hopefully they will send it with a bit of care. The process is quite easy. I have actually complained a lot - which led them to change to a more sturdy box and usually some packing materials as well, so that's great.
Just received mine last week. They sent me 2 sets, even though I only ordered one. No wonder they're backordered if they send out extra free sets. The directions have some flaws too.
I wish Lego took as much care shipping my orders. My last 3 orders that had a larger set box, including the 3 I grabbed from Bricklink Series 1 came in smashed in the shipping process. On all 3, the shipping box tape was cut or snagged in the delivery process, one had a flap bouncing open where you could see what was inside because the paper tape wasn't centered and didn't have enough to adhere on one side.. The paper packaging material was not near enough to keep the sets from sliding around in the box either. The cardboard felt cheaper/flimsier than some packaging i've received from Amazon's lately.
The prime day sales in Canada were amazing this year. We don’t usually get the good deals. I got up at 3am and managed to get some good sets. Great buys, Bricksie!
I have traded sets in the past to empty out my backlog to a more manageable amount at times over the past few years to just not overwhelm myself with sets since most of my backlog is currently the winter village sets with 5 of my 22 sets being those and 10 of those 22 sets being retired sets as well.
Good Lord Dude! Ya need to control your self on the urge to buy things like that. Your making us Lego collectors Jealous and worried about ya, Holy cow dude XD
I would love to have that much Lego turn up on my doorstep, it would be like Christmas and birthdays all at once. However for now I'll let someone else pay for it and watch the videos on TH-cam 🤣 Also the train shed is so cool x
I haven't shopped on Amazon in five years... but this Prime Days haul is making me regret that somewhat. I'm about halfway through my LEGO purchases for this summer, most of which are the Eldorado Fortress and Medieval Town Square; I'm hopefully getting the maximum allowed of each set (5), but I have yet to order two of each due to monthly budget limits. I buy all of my LEGO direct online because (a) most of the sets I buy these days are LEGO exclusives, and (b) I don't live close enough to a LEGO Store to make it worthwhile, especially for someone who doesn't drive for medical reasons.
Holly molly that is a lot of LEGO! Ive already ordered some sets that are gonna retire such as the gunship, Captain Rex helmet, Sanctum Sanctorum and the Imperial Tie Bomber. I love Amazon prime days. Awesome haul!
Amazon fixed my damaged box problems and have a couple times but you are right you’ll get another damaged one 80% of the time or more. The last time they let me keep both the original and the replacement and refunded me.
As long as you have the means to do so your not crazy. I do a casual lego investment and selling on the side to support my lego hobby. Some of those sets are due to stick around for another year like rex helmet and tie bomber as long as you happy with the price you paid then its all good. Damaged boxes are not really a problem when reselling if its a retired set as long as its sealed the difference in price is very little for most sets.
I find usually Amazon orders are OK, but I mostly buy books from there, but even so I got a book recently with a ripped page in it even though it was supposed to be new (and not a third party seller.) It is annoying. If the box is really damaged, and you've not got it in your collection, you can always keep it yourself, but damaged stuff is always annoying. I've also found in recent years that boxes to ship things and even just general packaging boxes when you've bought an electrical item tend to be quite flimsy and when they arrive they are generally battered and it's not an environmentally friendly way of getting things to the customer if the goods inside are damaged as a result. Boxes are easily recycled.
I think you did the right thing as far as the helmets. I didn't get into doing those until last year, and some of the older ones are very hard to find. I love the ones I do have because each helmet is totally unique. No 2 builds on those are ever the same. On a different note, I found Potted/Dancing Groot and the mid-size Helicarrier at my local Wal-Mart on 7/26! After your post about when they are supposed to be launched, I couldn't pass up getting them early. I have my own backlog of sets that I need to build - mostly due to home renovations. I'm not going to put sets together just to have them get super dusty in a day. But I do wonder if my Wal-Mart messed up, or if there's some kind of early release interest thing. Like, certain stores are allowed to release early to see about local interest. Maybe you know?
i agree Jordan, canadians never get deals in lego, we were in michigan and found a technic car my son wanted for 50% at Target, even with the exchange it was a good deal, so he was happy at the end of the day.
I just found the Lego Wildflowers set and the Lego mixed bouquet ( with more pastel flowers) for under 50€ per set. One of them was 46 or 47,99 and the other was 49,99! They are both 59,99€ on the Lego site. I will have to get the big rose bouquet there, as I have never seen it cheaper anywhere. Oh, and I found an animal Duplo set that I thought had been discontinued ( the elephant and giraffe set) at the supermarket. The flower sets are for my siblings. The wildflowers for my sister and her family who have just moved, the pastel bouquet as an anniversary present for my bro and sister-in-law, as it looks just like her wedding bouquet, the Duplo set is for their daughter/my niece who will soon be two. The roses will be for my other sister and brother-in-law for Christmas. I wish there were a set of lilies, as Lily is their daughter’s name.
I have the Disney villains icons set and camera set aside for invest along with some brickhead and a countash speed champ. Got the icons set for $90 at target and the camera for $85 from Costco. Used kohls cash and got speed champ for $5 lol
Great haul. Just a note on Lego investing and reselling. If anyone does this at scale there may be Tax implications on the profits depending on your country. You have mentioned that you have a company that your purchases go through, however private individuals should be aware of this.
I too ordered the LEGO Star Wars Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle but mine says it won't arrive until August 9th to September.... I also built the Star Wars Spider Tank 75361 on your most recent livestream while you were making plates.
Hi Bricksie. What a wonderful haul and investment! Quite honestly there are many lovers of Lego who aren't interested in the boxes, they just want the good stuff inside. 😂 I'm sure you will have some great deals and parts that folks want at good prices. The sets for the City are awesome, and are going to look terrific once built and installed.
