Thanks for the detailed and informative budget. There is another vlogger that tells people that if you only have 1000 USD that you are just getting by, not going out much, etc. Your video proves that its not just barely getting by or living on the cheap just to say you live on 1000 a month or less. Crazy to think that you are living life for less than 1k and I am spending 1350 on a one bedroom apartment a month which is the going rate. Sad. Keep up the great content!!!
Nice video. We just got back to Vancouver Canada after a 3 month stay in the Philippines, and I have to say you have a good budget. Our condo is in San Fernando Pampanga and we do most of our groceries at SM Supermarket even though S&R is almost right across the street from our place. Our food costs are higher, but still much cheaper than Canada, . and the meat in my opinion is far better than here in Canada.
King Jay with Queen Wife Kay: I really appreciate this straight fact talk on budgets in the Philippines. It never gets old at all. Keeping updated on information is so great, thank you for that. Especially since it has been over 30 years since I was station at Clark Air Base, Philippines. Having a income of at least 50,000 pesos or ($1,000) a month is very great to have in the Philippines. From US American Air Force Security Police Military Veteran who was station at Clark Air Base, Philippines in 1991. GOD speed to the Philippines.
Right on bro!! Great video. I'm 66. Partially retired. I need to move the hell over there. We're getting ripped the hell off, here in America. The greed here, is off the charts....
I had a nice Condo in Quezon City for about $500 a month. If I had to live on a reduced food budget, I could probably add another $500 to that for laundry, food and necessities. I think the most important thing is having a Filipina to shop and cook for me so I could reduce my costs. Personally, I wouldn't mind living on $2000 month considering in NYC, I live on $4000 a month.
Yes sir - - - I'm 73 and wanting to come to the Philippines - to live - 'until' - I die ! > To explore meet nice local people + some expats & try the local foods. I get $1500 SS - live alone quite frugal & really like it that way. A small 1br or studio with some AC is fine with me. Won't be there a lot anyway. -- So far I was looking closely at Lipa City @ 1000 feet elevation and much cooler than sea level. Beach is an hour away & Manila an hour and a half. Just about 2 times Calapan in size. Very scenic and beautiful there. Most importantly for me is that separate reports contend a good life can be had there for $750 -- $800 / mo. to cover the "essentials" easily. ---- I appreciate your efforts here to help us who never been there to know what to expect 'approximately' before we come ! Great job & much appreciated.
If you are planning to live in Mindoro for good, why don't you buy a share at the new hospital in Tawiran. Mindoro Medical Centre is open for investors. Both you and Kaye will have 45 days a year free room including ICU, 50% off in diagnostics and 10% discount in meds. Kaye's parents will have 50% discount and for when you have kids they'll have a 50% discount too and you can transfer the shares to them when you you go.
I'm new to your channel I like how you broke the cost of living down there I been thinking of trying out Thailand but listen to this video got me thinking real hard
For my entire life even growing up as a kid, we have had 55 gallon drums with the top cut out for burn barrel. They last about 2 years. When you get a new one I take the cutting torch, cut the top off, flip it over blast the bottom with the shotgun, set it on 4 bricks and burn my trash in it for 2 years. I have never paid for garbage in my entire life. We just burned the trash. Metal and glass is accepted in most places and right here in my little rural town, nearby, for recycling. But I am not opposed to paying five bucks! Lol
Hello, I just found your channel, & I like watching budget vids because they all vary depending as you said on where you live. like if your rent is 19,000 or 6,000 makes all the difference. BTW- I see your wearing an LSU shirt & you mentioned projects in the south. are you from Baton Rouge?
Hello and thank you for this budget video, and I can’t because how beautiful it is where you live and the price of the rent.I plan to visit over there and maybe retire there.Stay safe, you and your lady.✌🏿
Wow Jay internet is good where you are Jay? Very good my wifi in the province is in and out at times it's annoying I heard that the average foreigner or expat spends up to 855 dollars a month here that's expensive to me covers the cost of rent bills and entertainment but I guess it also depends on where you are staying because you are paying less for the place where you currently are I'm going to build my own basketball court and gym on some land that I own one of these days my own personal gym and basketball court I hope they can get that pool cleaned up soon Jay it looks really green I wish I could travel Jay but I don't like to travel by myself I'm not that familair with the language and some people understand english better than others in certain areas and it's just a tough situation for me to be in
When will the Phillipines be open to United States citizens, as I would like to go there in March, without this quarantine stuff. I am also semi retired and make over $1000.00 per month from government, forever
What’s good Jay ? I know I’m going to retire in the Philippines or Thailand and my rental budget will be no more than $800.00 USD. What type of place can I expect for that amount ? Keep posting dope content, stay healthy many blessings to you & your wife. Peace.
Hey hey my brother Jay man I like that place your at my man . I might have to swing in there & check it out beautiful .hey Kay can be your bodyguard haha just drop back & say get um Kay. Man I've never seen or heard of where your at bro . But I do like what I see seriously don't be surprised if I bump into you after things open up & settle down some I was telling a friend of mine in illo illo .he asked me what my plans were now that I'm not with Angelyka any longer so I'm prob not going to base myself out of Tagum city as planned . I told him I'm not going to be the 1st bunch rushing into philliphines I'm gonna lay back a little while & let them figure it all out as to how to handle the big surg that's coming to you . & I believe it will be just that packed chaos at first . But any how from one Jay to another Jay peace ✌ out & KEEP ON ROCKING IN THE FREE WORLD 🌎 SALAMAT
That's a pretty decent budget! Of course it will go up when you get your own transport. I don't know if you are planning to buy a car or a bike. I'm not a motorbike driver, so for me it would have to be a car, but I've been asking myself if I would be living in the Philippines, if I would really need one on a permanent basis. Are there any car rentals out there where you can get a self-drive car for one or two days?

S&R is for when you want something you may not find in the Philippines or you just want to buy in bulk
Cost not bad but should be expected in a tier 3 country where money and economic ways are hard to come by keep enjoying life brother love

Saving half is a lot man
@@TheBlackFilipino A helluva lot. I would invest a $1000 every month into the market and you still have another $1000 left over, sweet!
Quezon City is where my girl is from

Yes I am using the drone in the video
4k a month solo would I live like a king?
4k /month is luxury living. You'll live like a king there in the Philippines with that amount.
You’ll live like 2 kings

Yes you can do that
300 sq mt lot is $12k... in my province...
It would help if you also state the name of city and province. Just saying :)
Wow cheap. Cavity, Tanza. 6k-7k sqm. so 300sqm would be 1.8-2.1 million PHP
