Love REO.....always a great show and great timeless songs. They toured with Styx so many times they were like twins. I guess it was an Illinois thing. I miss the Richrath days though.....he brought the goods.
It's time. I've seen REO about 8-10 times over the years. Great band. Great music. Great live performances. God Bless all of the present and past band members, and thanks for the memories and the music!
@@chriswoosley1697 Since 1988, REO has had only had ONE original member in the band, Neal Doughty. That was 36 years ago, so apparently you've been turned off by REO for that long? LOL!
@@TheProfessorOfLife I checked out after Gary left,Cronin nutered the band with his schmaltzy ballads, plus 3albums in 33 years,...all horrible..and his voice is shot,..yeah,its DEFINITELY time to go
@@chriswoosley1697 Prior to Kevin Cronin joining REO, the band was nothing more than a regional nightclub band, at best, with a revolving door of musicians quitting and joining the band. Kevin Cronin singlehandedly made all of the other members of REO multi-millionaires. The songs that YOU call "schmaltzy" will still be playing on radio stations and people's song lists LONG after you and I are both gone. Your argument is actually quite silly and irrelevant, because there are ZERO bands (that I know of) who still have their ORIGINAL lineups intact from the 60s, 70s and even into the 80s. Musicians quit or get fired from their bands all the time, for a myriad of reasons, and then as time goes on, the musicians retire or they die.
@@TheProfessorOfLife better as hard rock band,,,,plus ,I haven't listened to radio since mid 90's,because of crap like Cronins ballads,..just overkill,I'm more of a full album person,I despise hit singles,(keep on lovin you, hotel california,...money,and DEFINITELY Old time rock and roll)....CLASSIC ROCK IS ATROCIOUS...REO, like 16 albums, they play 2 or 3 songs,...Kansas,.20 albums ,they play like 4 songs off only 2 albums,Black Sabbath ...22 albums,......2 songs,...AC/DC ...Dont get me started....same with B.O.C...2 songs out of a massive catalogue....as far as millionaires,I dont give a shit about that ,..thats not my reason for listening to music,as far as my opinion being"silly" or "irrelevant"? you're the one STILL listening to radio,...,the same 40 songs for 45-50 years,...at least I listen to the artists complete albums/catalogue ,..being a "music fan"instead of being spoonfed the same tired boring ass lackluster mediocrity...my love for bands/artists goes the whole album/CD,..NOT A 3 MINUTE SINGLE, my attention span is a bit more wider than that....Radio is a dying form of media ,anyway.....if they would EXPAND their format, their musical palette,..take risks, and be a bit more adventureous in their playlists, play deep tracks ,or obscure songs,it would be tolerable....its just unbearable, they take music fans as idiots,as only a 30 /40 song same playlist, but ones that still do listen,Well,..with those attention spans,..just maybe they are idiots,.....casual "music fans"...fairweather fans...the people who buy cds at Walmart,or truck stops, same thing....enjoy your same 40 tunes,I'll stick with my 2000 CDs,.albums.....MR.professor🥱
The Richrath years were their best.... Had it not been for HIM fighting for doing a little heavier rock style, REO would not have been the band they ended up becoming and would have stayed a party band... Put it this way... back in the day, people went more to hear Gary's playing than what the rest of the band was doing. The first time I saw them was in a huge barn outside of Ofallon Illinois in 1970...Their debut album was the next year... Kevin Cronan wasn't in the band yet and Gary had just joined the band like 6 months before that gig I think.... We ended up partying with the group Head East quite a bit as they were finding their feet as well, and they made their first album in 1974... Both bands were pretty big in the midwest and both Illinois bands.
Saw REO with Train at Saratoga Preforming Arts Center. It was amazing. Packed audience with such a diverse age group of people it was amazing. Can’t say that enough.🤩
I saw them in 2016 touring with Def Leppard and Tesla. They were awesome that night and i’m glad I got to see them before their age finally caught up w them for good. Nothing to be ashamed about with 50+ years of music under their belt 🤘🏼
I got to see them a few times in the mid 70's, collected all their Lp's up to 1995. My Favorite is their masterpiece Album 'Tuna fish' !! Not a bad song on it,, only band I no of to have 3 different vocalist on their first 3 LP's.
Great band but Cronin's voice isn't there any more and Richrath is gone. Bands age and members move on/pass away. Go out on a high note and enjoy your millions, you did good.

I like their music, and it is sad that they are retiring. Thanks for the video Bob.
I love to drive while playing the REO Speedwagon songs "Riding the storm out" and "Keep a Pushin".

How sad! Where's bionic parts when they need them? Some other bands may never retire.
