I just want to say something about Gruff. I had him. I know he's probably the ugliest thing you've ever seen. BUT I remember he would stand on the rocks on the beach, look into the ocean and sing. And I liked that about him..

I made a new leaf save almost a week ago and I have Gruff as one of my starting villagers and he's really nice! Always wants me to give him new furniture

When I first got Hamphrey I really despised him---he showed up uninvited, and was stomping around complaining all the time. But he really grew on me as a grouchy dad type, plus his house is a really cute, traditional Japanese style house with a kotatsu and area heater---you can't hate a little hampster who's just cranky because his hands are cold.
Putting Dobie in top tier is an immediate subscription from me. Had him on my original island, and now I'm hoping he comes to my HHP island so I can build him the vacation home he deserves. Love my wolf dad.🥺🥺
I believe if you buy the souvenir chocolate and give it to him you he'll come to the vacation island and you can build him a vacation home!
Del is one of my villagers. He was crafting Prison Bars and said you need to have expirience for these, like he has... I'm convinced he was in prison... He gave me a sandcastle so I gues he really wants to get a new start.

I always love seeing the villagers that other people have formed attachments to, it's really sweet to see people talk about their faves!
A lot of the time cranky villagers can be hit-or-miss for me, but I positively adore Del. Something about his design and personality align with the 'surly but good-natured grandpa' category that some crankies fall into. I can't help but see him as like a grizzled old navy vet, not so much in the douchey jingoistic way but the 'sits on a porch smoking a pipe and tells old war stories to entertain the grandkids' kinda way.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon your channel. Your reaction to Vic had me rolling because Vic is uncannily like what my fiancé would look like in AC villager form, down to the towering height, bright blue eyes, and scruffy blond beard. My man is a lot more David Harbour than Chris Hemsworth (and with a beard the resemblance is uncanny) but I’m glad you’re into chonky Thor type guys too. You got good taste.

I liked him when I had him in New Leaf.
Rasher has been my favorite villager since the first Animal Crossing game. He has definitely been to jail, probably more than once. I like to believe that in his old age he has retired from his life of crime and is trying, clumsily but sincerely, to reintegrate with society.

-Chow is pink because his Japanese name is Chinese for "toward the sun". In short, he is bald.
-There is no way Curt will be lower. He is the bear mascot of the furry community in AC. Japanese thinks he hides a third eye under his patch.
-Grizzly the Lumberjack for the win! His Japanese name is a reference to the Japanese Paranormal magazine "Mû"
-I like how Groucho's theme is ocean. He used to wear a windsock shirt in GC. His blue fur and scars on head and hack can been see as jeans.
-Ike is the only canon dad of the series. He is my all-time favorite for this reason.
-Vladimir has a cool design. He is a pink cranky (dwarf) Russian bear who try his best to look intimidating but he is a child at heart.
I literally have static on my island and I love him to death I make him food all the time 💕 definitely my father right there! Also I love watching your vids they make me so happy!
back in 2002 Gaston was my first ever cranky villager in my first ever town and he will always remain my fave. i still have that town's save file and even though Gaston long moved away, Kabuki and Lobo share an acre. the crankies have always been my faves. great vid

Roscoe is one of my favourite animal crossing characters in general. Also his eyes turn yellow when he does any of the angry emotions and that was the coolest thing to 12-year-old me playing New Leaf.

The cranky villagers are my favorite too! I blame Chow, who was in my town in the original Animal Crossing game, and then Wolfgang, who was in my town in Wild World. They’re both pure souls who aren’t afraid to tell you how they feel lol

I am not a fan of people who say that Lobo is a Wolfgang ripoff. If anything, Lobo was probably the first wolf they came up with. He’s supposed to be a gray wolf (though in New Horizons they made him purple for whatever reason) and his name means “wolf.” Lobo is my favorite villager in Animal Crossing. He and my second favorite villager Stinky (who also gets unnecessary hate) got me through some hard times when I battled depression after being diagnosed with a rare disease. New Leaf was a godsend back then! And while I haven’t played New Horizons since the update yet (I am still slowly working my way through a few other Switch games at the moment), I’m looking forward to giving my two best buddies some great homes!

Murphy is an icon- I love that dumb bear for no other reason then he helped me bully HIPPEUX. The icon gave him a trash can as a friendship gift after a fight. He literally slays in every piece of clothing I’ve gave him. In short, Murphys an icon and we stan a problematic Queen.

I have two crankies on my island and I just love them so much. Apollo and Roscoe! I knew about Apollo before so when I saw him I immediately took him.
With roscoe (he is my newest villager after finally kicking of Jacques and Eugene of the island 😂) it was more like I was not sure. I really liked his design but what sold him was the fact that his eyes get red with the whites becoming bright yellow whenever he’s excited. He really looks like those hell horses and so I took him. And since then he grew on me soo much!!
I also ship him with Tiffany cause they are kinda iconic and cute together 🙈
To me, Chief is the closeted gay frat boy who secretly writes smut about his history professor Apollo and his english professor Fang.
I love cranky and also lazy but I feel like cranky is such an underrated category.

Lobo and cranky wolves are great. Lobo was my first villager but I would take up Wolfgang if he came by.

When you got to Rolf (my fav villager) I was glad to not be totally offended.
To be fair, I've had him in literally every game since the gamecube version so I'm incredibly biased.
Rolf always gave me dad/grandpa vibes and I love him a lot.
I have bruce on my island and i think he fr has a cruh on me. For ex, one of my female villagers calls me sweetkins, recently he asked to call me it too. And just today, i was handing out presents, and he was like " its especialy special because its from you" while blushing. Lol il him so much
I have Apollo and Rooney on my island and I love finding them being grumpy old men together 😌
I often find Apollo doing the most random things and it always makes me laugh , I disliked him at first but he’s became one of my silent favourites 😂😂

i had Gruff as an auto fill before i could start hunting, and i avoided him as much as possible, but then the first thing he said to me was “i know i’m ugly and who would make friends with me? but it can get lonely sometimes” and my heart broke. and after that he turned out to be one of the sweetest characters in the game, especially when he sings :’) him and Henry have become besties on my island and now they’re my forever villagers :’)

On my New Horizons Island, I have two villagers from each of my previous towns from City Folk to now. City Folk I have Cube and Wolfgang, New Leaf I have Deirdre and Sly, and New Horizons I have Zell and Biff (my starting character). Then with the rest of the four villager slots, I try to collect their photo and then switch them with new villagers. Deirdre, Wolfgang, and Cube will always be my favorite villagers.
