- This episode is about catching up with my dear friend Asil Özbay, a world traveler. Asil is currently travelling solo through Africa on her Africa Twin. We crossed paths in Kasane, a town in the northeastern corner of Botswana that is the gateway to Chobe National Park. After a safari cruise on the Chobe River, we headed to Chobe Elephant Camp to recharge our batteries. These few days with Asil were absolutely awesome. In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I was raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. Very happy time visiting with both of you this trip. Such accomplished adventure riders on marvelous motorcycles. That night ride was really something. I haven't ridden in the dark in the last fifty years, since the 1970's. I must try it soon. I like the room you two shared, especially the outdoor shower. Must feel good to be in company again. Quite a change for a solo RTW rider. Safaris are a treat and slow you down. And the food in those lodges - a treat. There will be other days on the road.

A little trick when siphoning with a small hose is to blow gently instead of sucking. Once you blow for a few seconds, place the end in container and the back pressure will draw the fuel out.
