My partner used to do palm readings. The main part of his 'training' was learning how to fool the person into thinking you were genuine. They train you to generalise and make statements that can be interpreted in many ways so the client hears what they want to hear. Fun to watch, cruel when they charge money for it.

All I can say then is that your partner was 'trained' incorrectly - or that he (or you?) when referring to generalisations, are getting confused with something termed Cold Reading. Cold Reading is NOT Palm Reading!
I've read palms of the most difficult, loud, disbelieving people that you could meet - yet left them in awe at the accuracy after a reading.
Astrology, Spiritualists, etc. I personally take with a pinch of salt and wouldn't waste my time. However, I've made a living for the past 27 years, reading palms. Never ONCE, have I had anyone say to me that a reading was incorrect.
Obviously I don't believe in it, but to challenge what you say from an objective point of view. I'm sure there are people who read palms who 100% believe in what they are doing. The % of those people, I don't know. But where there's money to be made you'll always get others trying to make take advantage. That much is for sure.
I think it depends on the other person. I know it’s all guff, but I’ve become interested in getting my palm and tarot read next year. Not because I’m genuinely lost and looking for answers or I’m grieving or anything making it easy to exploit me but because I think some of these are good at reading people and even generalised advice can be useful to hear from others sometimes. So I’d be going into it for the experience itself rather than staking any real profound importance on the result. But I am pretty disgusted with those who would exploit someone vulnerable for example caught in the maelstrom of new grief, or easily led etc.
I dont know if Id really believe what a palm reader says but I enjoy them because for some reason I get the ASMR effect from watching them even if they are a clear scammer. This guy does defientely seem reputable anyway and I can tell he has studied Palmistry in great detail.

Very broad things. At every personality trait he found, I thought to myself “yeah ok, I do that too”, or “I mean yeah pretty much”, or “maybe I guess that’s me”. They just say things that literally everyone can relate to, like “things haven’t always gone your way”. I mean of course, life isn’t fair or perfect. My favorite was “you’re wiser than you used to be” yeah that’s called maturing, and 99% of people do it, even daily depending on their life.

I notice that all palm readers use contradictions to always be right..such as “You are creative and psychic but it may be creative in a different way. It may not be art but maybe creative in math or science. Maybe even athletically creative” It shows an early death in your lifeline but it may not mean death in a physical sense but in a psychological or spiritual sense. Regardless of what they see, it always applies.

He did pretty well as far as palmistry goes,, he went into a little bit of a "cold reading "in the middle. You should analyze your birth chart and compare to your friends and family and celebrities, that's how to learn.

Palmistry is very interesting and can give amazing readings. But this is cold reading. These statements can be applied to almost anyone. A good palm reading is specific. ‘You’re better at making up your mind than you used to be’ - most people are. ‘Family trouble in the past’ - most people have had that.
brian black In all fairness thats all Palm Readings. You pretty much have to trust that they are genuinely seeing what they interpret on your hand because anything a palm reader says could be interpreted as a cold reading. I think this guy is genuine because he can explain what part of your hand tells him what he sees I.E He explains how he can tell that this guy is better at making up his mind than he used to be because a characteristic of his hand is on his Present hand but not on his past hand. Most scammer Palm readers that would charge you 30$ for a five minute reading would just say "Oh I Cant reveal my secrets" or some crap since as long as you have paid them they dont care if you find them authentic or not.

They’re all bullshit. Creases in your hand form based on your hand shape and how you use your hand. It’s nice to imagine it’s real though, something mystical about it.

What is it about bullshit artists and ASMR. I think it’s something about a person clearly pretending that what they’re doing is genuine but we know it’s not. It’s like the acting part of it somehow activates the asmr

There's a lot of confusion within the comments below, with people referring to Cold Reading as Palm Reading. They are two entirely different things.
For people that do not believe in Palm Reading - I'm not here to convince you otherwise. I've spent the past 27 years meeting people face to face, who think it's all complete BS. However, around 15 minutes later, I can assure you that they've changed their mind.
Around three weeks ago, I received a call from a family member in Australia. Last January whilst she was in the UK, I told her that she'd be having a second child around Christmas, or early next year. Her reply (and she was adamant) was "no f***ing way, one is enough. We aren't even trying for any more - trust me Baz".
The call last week was to say that she is now 11 weeks pregnant.
This is fun and all but the lines on the hands are just how you work, there’s people who can’t move their hands at all who have no lines, which kinda disproves all of this

I did not believe in palmistry BUT once i met a guy at online and he said he can read palm well i do it for fun at first taking picture of my both palm hands AND it turn out that what he said is 80% TRUE well i was Amaze, and now im really interested to get my palm read seriously. That said, out of all these types of videos online, this is the one I find the least insulting to my intelligence and the one that is the least of a scam. The reader doesn't pretend to know anything he doesn't know. Palm reading is complete horseshit, but he seems to be working within the confines of the lore or whatever is taught in what he's read. The statements could apply to everyone, yes, but at least he's not going out of his way to make stuff up and try to give any psychic shit. He admits as much that it's just a hobby that he took up and that there are skeptics he wouldn't completely disagree with. He doesn't agree with the cringey TH-camr saying there's a science behind it or any real meaning. He's able to point to the specific lines that are supposed to indicate things (which they obviously don't), instead of making it up as he goes along. He doesn't have an answer for the cringey questions, and he doesn't pretend to. Any other of these scammers would just go along with it. Again, all bullshit (this and tarot and other psychic stuff), but it's clearly a hobby he doesn't take seriously, has a relaxing voice, and he gives good advice. I don't even waste energy being a skeptic- I know there's nothing to it, but I'd probably pay him for a reading just to relax.

The palm reader here has very deep palms which a 19 Century Cheiromancer would say he is denotes almost invariably misfortune, loss of money, misery, and a failure in enterprise... Traditional Cheiromancy is the reader hoping your hands don't tell him you are going to die soon and horribly so he can cash out quickly without sending you spiraling into depression and oblivion.

Believe it or not, their actually is some science that validates some aspects of palm reading. I know Aristotle used palm reading often, to help choose the people that accompanied him. Just because people do not understand something, they should not be so quick to dismiss it. If anything, they are fun, and very entertaining.
There is no science behind this, whoever told you that is biased and/or lying.

First, we obviously can't know if it works or doesn't work with 100% certainty. But second, just think logically about it. The only connection I can come up with would be that somehow the parts of our genes that create specific lines in our hands correlate with specific functioning of various relevant areas of the brain. This seems pretty far-fetched on its own. But remember that the lines in our hands are also seemingly fixed from birth and so any relationship with our brains is also necessarily fixed from birth. I.e. the lines in our hand can't reflect any experiences we have in the real world because they don't change. Additionally, I can't see any way to connect actions done by third-parties to the lines on our hands absent some supernatural powers. So sure, if you are claiming that there are supernatural powers at work, fine. But I just don't see any clear way to connect the lines on our hand to our actions or the actions of others.
