Awesome tune so damn heavy with that intro makes you sit up and beg and Peter green chirps in with incredible vocals .... you can't ever ignore music like this...raw, loud, melodic and one of those tunes you instantly recognise and remains with you for life.Peter was brave and absolutely right to withdraw from the public eye...yes it was drug induced but credit to him he did the right thing rather than join that infamous 27 club (example of what may have been) this early line up miles apart from the "Rumours" era of the Mac ...my opinion hands down this classic lineup is the "real deal" of the Mac ...the later and commercial line up while hugely successful don't quite cut it for me .... forever argumentative and also best known for "AIRING ITS DIRTY LAUNDRY IN PUBLIC" ,as always thanks for reading my post....any comments either good or bad are always appreciated and I respect you for taking timeout to respond!!!
Epic performance, and classic for sure. I am sorry for coming to know and appreciate Peter Green so late, but I do know him now. Still don't see the need to put down the "Rumors" era of the Mac, as it is as artistically and commercially quality output. Peter Green was special, I understand that.
My opinion, the best incarnation of this band. Fortunately I got to see this incarnation of the band several times and once with Danny and Bob Welch. They always kicked ass. Rest well Danny.
I largely agree. I only saw them once, without Peter Green but with Danny and Bob Welch in Edmonton, Alberta. Wonderful. Fleetwood's drumming was clockwork. Bare Trees and Future Games and Mystery to Me are my favourites, with Then Play On.
Green was the greatest white blues guitarist of the era. he could play as heavy as Hendrix and as soulful as BB King, often at the same time. Flew too close to the psychedelic sun.
Pete Green... magic.....I arrived in Australia in 1968 and after being at sea for five weeks....I heard Albatross....it reminded me of a big sailing boat on the ocean 🌊🌊🌊🌊.
He's doing okay. Join our group if you want. We're working on getting him inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame. "Then Play On ... Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac"
When my son was in middle school (about 20 years ago) and just getting into guitar, I brought out some Peter Green FM and put it on the turntable. He and his friends rolled their eyes, expecting Buckingham/Nicks. It totally blew their minds. When we got to Green Manalishi, they were goners.
Blues was a big influence in the UK in the sixties, Rolling Stones, John Mayall, The Animals and Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac to mention a few. A great recording of a great track.
I was about 9 years young at the time this was released. My dad was into classical Music. So, when I was home alone I sneakily turned the dial on our radio to RTBF (their radio broadcast signal was pretty strong) - and I heard this song, I was blown away...this song has been with me to this day and now I’m 58. I’m Flemish btw (the Dutch speaking part of Belgium).
I constantly feel like I’m the only one who equally loves Peter green era Fleetwood Mac as much as buckingham/nicks Fleetwood Mac. They both made such incredible music.
This is almost 50 years ago! It's strange how "fifty years ago" has changed. Nowadays 50 years ago feels recent. Back in 1969 fifty years ago (1919) felt like ancient history.
Thats what real musicianship looks like! Three of the best guitarist ever supporting each other thru a hell of a song! Pete backing Danny's wicked lead riffs, while Jeremy just lays back a shakes the maracas like they were body else's business! Oh Yeah for Oh Well!
-diamonddog95; I love to see Peter smile too💓😍💓 Looked like he was having a good time, Danny, so serious, sure could play though as could them all, love this music since I was 15, way back in the good old days, yea, I'm 63😘
I love both Peter Green's AND Danny Kirwan's roles in the band. Peter was right in hiring Danny, even though it didn't last long. They made quite a guitar combo, and Danny was a great singer/songwriter as well.
Pete green was fresh as a daisy back then superb guitarist and singer, creating some of the most soulful guitar licks out there. Also not forgetting Danny Kirwan another great guitarist! I Wish the original line up could of stayed together longer! Don't get me wrong I like fleetwood after pete green, I think Lindsay Buckingham is also amazing and Stevie+Christie but it's a totally different band. I like the early sound the best
Peter was really relaxed and i really love that moment after second verse, when he starts to smile. And look Kirwan's left hand when he's bending strings - he plays guitar like a maniac!
Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie didn't ruin the band, it just became a different kind of music band. Don't knock their good music..the line up was great either way.
no disrespect to later Fleetwood mac but this is rock and roll. Pete green had it. such a great guitarist and songwriter. they were a great blues/rock band. to much acid made problems
Such a sad story..so much talent. Peter Green was the best guitar player in that era. Mental illness is a sumbitch, seeing someone with such a gift not being able to use it or share it with the world breaks my heart.thank god for the things he did get out and cherish them
There's just so-o-o many people who have no idea how great this band was live. I saw them at the Boston Tea Party in 1969. Tim Hardin was the opening act - great double bill. Friends who went with me had never heard of F-M. They were blown away. Down and dirty blues!
Geoffrey Gentry Oh no!! I didn’t even know he had passed away. 😨 A real genuine blues man. Great lead guitarist with talent and real passion. RIP Danny. 😢

It's great that he's back with the Splinter Group and showing us he's still playing. His legacy is still building. I only wish I had been aware of him in his heyday. Saw Lee Michaels at Filmore West but that must have been '70 and missed Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac.
Jeremy Spencer, young 16 yr. old phenom discovered by Green, and not a thing would've happened without those two gents at the rhythm core, in John MacVie and Mick Fleetwood. Equaling Fleetwood Mac. I was however, very pleased to see Green made "Third most influential guitarst in R & R history a few years back. I loved this song when I first heard it, aged 16. Just coming up for 63 now and it sounds as fresh as it ever did. Magnificent!

Peter Green rocks here. His laughter in the other half of the song lyrics is priceless!
I agree, it was when bands used to have fun and didn't take themselves too seriously. I wonder what he saw?
He always will stay as my favorite musican no matter how time has run , thisone is so marvellous ,love him as he was 💚💚💚RIP

Peter Green IS the psychedelic sun!!

Ron Carter yeah he's still alive lol doesn't look anything like this anymore

Brandon Delisle Who does after over 40 years, and then with his problems. But you still can´t take it away from him, he made a guitar sing!

Me thinks that Led Zep listened long and hard to this before coming up with Black Dog.
Jimmy Page did once say that Black Dog was inspired by this song (most notably how the vocals are done in a "call and response" manner to the instruments)
