Wow, this is great. I grew up in the Hilltop area and most of this appears to be shot in Otay (there's a street sign Third/Zenith at one point) But nonetheless it looks like my childhood. I'm especially loving the road shots that start about 20 minutes into it. It's a really fascinating view of vestiges of CV and the emergence of rapid growth. A brand new 805. At 22:49 there's the Archway Inn, which I remember seeing a million times and I'm thinking it's on Otay Lakes road heading east. Black speed limit signs. Cattle (are they still there, or is that now houses)? Parachuters at Brown Field. Kid's riding banana seat bikes. Otay lake and dam. At 26" is that Southwestern College? The sports are fun but it's really worth scrubbing through the video to find the streets. Go to 9:30" to see what downtown San Diego used to look like (including the old El Cortez). Based on what I see I'd place an educated guess most of this was shot circa 1974.

I think it is mid to late 70's. I was born in 1970 and remember the cars of the time. It looks like the track meet may have been at Sweetwater High in National City. I grew up next to Chula Vista High!

I grew up on guatay ave and as kids, we'd ride our bikes to telegraph canyon rd and ride up on the hill where the Telegraph shopping strip is today. @26:37 is showing the on-ramp to 805N What I'd love to see is before that on-ramp Oleander etc... do you have footage showing the north side of telegraph canyon rd?
