- On today's episode of Locked On Aggies, host Andrew Stefaniak talks about an article from Notre Dame's Fan Nation site that talks about a few things to know about the Texas A&M Aggies. Stefaniak's takeaway from this article is the Notre Dame side believes this is going to be a really good football game, although they do predict the Fighting Irish to get the win.
Stefaniak then went on to share his opinions on the running back room and why he believes Rueben Ownes will split carries with Le'Veon Moss. Lastly, Stefaniak talked about who will represent Texas A&M at SEC Media Days in Dallas.

I do think ND by 10 is more likely than A&M winning. ND 24-17 would be my pick today.
ND has a ton of respect for the Aggies and it shows from what i've seen in the forums. ND is absolutely concerned because A&M is very unknown, its at a rowdy stadium, and in the Texas heat. I do believe ND wins, but Texas A&M will absolutely come to play and the Irish KNOW THIS. No ND fan I know believes this will be an easy game, or a blowout by any means. I think its gonna be a GREAT game!

ND fan here. We are definitely concerned with the talent and new coaching staff. Also playing in Kyle field at night in August will be the toughest challenge for us this season. Probably most important game on our schedule. Besides this game wish yall luck rest of season, seem to be a program on the rise to make the playoffs. # Go Irish ☘️
the way I see it is that for A&M, this is an extremely winnable and extremely losable game. Most fans of both sides seem confident that they’re coming away with the win, but I expect this to be a defensive battle.

Its going to be a great kickoff for the start of the season. Two great teams will be meeting and doing battle. Both teams have great players. The weather should be hot. The stadium will be loud. It’s the unknown. We do still have a lot of talent on both sides of the line. Getting rid of Jimbo was a great move. To arrogant to change. I think taking control of the locker room is a plus for Elko! 21-17 A&M
EA Sports seems to agree that Owens is RB1. In the College Football 25 trailer it was Owens getting the carries.
Of course ND is concerned as it should be. However, ND has a QB that knows Elko very well and will be the difference maker in this game should he stay healthy.

This game comes down to Aggie offense. You just hired a defensive coach that only scored 14 vs ND last year with duke and it is widely accepted that ND defense is better this year. If aggies dont score 21+ then its a loss for them guaranteed
I think everyone is overlooking Amari…. He fits the run scheme perfectly. He knows how to read blocks the best and that’s what’s needed when running behind Klien pin and pull heavy run game

By the middle of the season the aggies will be an easy out. I think they are ultimately going to be a middle of the road sec team. First game of tge year is always tough tho
Everyone knows ND will be good this year so they’re making sure the players minds are right to blow a&m out the water.
How good is the ND defense expected to be?
They were top 5 last year in most defensive categories. And bring back National Defensive Player of the year, Watts, All Americans Morrison & Cross, along with Mills & Kiser who were both top 10 defenders on PFF.

Leonard got hurt on a play he was sacked, fumbled, & ND recovered, ending the game. Even if Leonard doesn’t get hurt, the game was over.

I mean you beat central Michigan, Tennessee state, navy, wake forest, Pittsburgh, NC state, USC (defense let up like 35 points a game) and Duke last year. Would have lost to Duke if the QB didn't get knocked out. Couldnt do much of anything against that defense and that same coach is back at A&M with better talent. Lost to Stanford and Marshall the year before that. Why wouldn't they be worried playing at Kyle field where almost every team has struggles? I think both teams should be nervous

I can promise you a&m isn't scared to play a team at our same level in OUR house. It's not something any of your players can anticipate or prepare for.
