Niccce, it's just like my style in the sense that it uses the principle of "Pangainoon", meaning-half hard/half soft. Awesome. I do Uechi Ryu Okinawan Karate, it came from China from Master Shushiwa, and he taught Master Kanbun Uechi who made a few changes in the stance and maybe a few other modifications, and he brought his knowledge back to Okinawa.. Great video.
for those of you complaining about the sound, just turn your volume settings to the right side or left side, depending on who you want to hear, and problem solved...
it's fine for this style... in this style sometimes forms are done a bit slowly... there is a reason for each of the things .. wh this is a form of dynamic stretching and " power expression.
these 2 other kicks that i mentioned the "front snap" and the "front thrust" are actualc ombat kicks.. the ones that he is doing are mostly for dynamic stretching... However can be used to disrupt guard while doing light sparring.. .. oh and dynamic stretching also helps with the 2 basic axe kicks(inside axe and outside axe)... :) have a good day.
yes... this is a distinct style.. that is known as a rising dynamic stretch kick.. it gets the leg used to kicking high without over stressing the joints and so on.. It's often used in various tyles of kung fu and wushu to train a kick or express power by slapping the hand at the end of the kick... i can assure you that he has also learned the front kicks you like which is called "front snap kick" or "front thrust kick" :) .. in both of those 2 frong kicks we bend the knee.
@WingChunGeologist its a type of method to employ in fighting. Its spread across many styles and can look quite different, many masters perfected their own versions. But the exact history of it and its development i dont know :)
@RgnmnkynutsSC1 well it goes even deeper. Each movement has a precise direction and a precise formula to how the power should be generated and expressed. Form is not merely fighting poses and moving between them, some are abstract concepts, the motion between each of them is also important, the anglework, the type of breathing employed. Some moves are offensive but also primarily conditioning and stretching for the body. Each movement is an individual technique with countless applications.
In response to Luohan108, the form is very clean and nice, but few of the strikes seem to be paochui, and the few that are are more like normal strikes than they are like paochui. Even at a very slow speed, paochui can still be performed and seen. And to demonstrate the paochui would not interfer with demonstration of stances. It seems to me that it's a form that only sometimes uses paochui. Are you sure it's a paochui form?
repeating the same movement a hundred times locks it in your muscle memory. repeating these series of movements gets the body used to putting them one after the other, like in a fight. it is also a type of meditation, combining the body with the inner energy, like kidochi has already said. Tai chi is the same thing. it's slowed down fighting movements and techniques. it enables you to feel the transition between each movement, foot position, etc
@robertvoice ya, there really are no mysteries. All the masters I've heard of Shaolin, Taiji, etc, all say there is no mystery. It's all science in the right dynamics, the right angle of attack, the proper execution of power, etc. If you didn't know how a car worked you would think it were a mystery too, right?
Shaolin - INTERNAL?!?!?!? I though it was just because the old guys I saw on TH-cam are based on Taijiquan. Nice, though. Kinda reminds me of LiangYi/TaiYiQuan.
To anyone interested, it would be better to watch the whole tutorial of this form at the official Shaolin channel : TH-cam/user/Shaolin Kung Fu . Under the title Shaolin explosive - Pao quan.
@TaizuChanQuan There are 2 Shi Yongxin's? This definitely doesn't look like the present Abbot of Shaolin just do a google search and look at the images. besides, the current abbot doesn't actually know kung fu. he just meditates and plays politics all over china and the world...
I really get confused every time seeing so many variations of every kungfu form on TH-cam. But what I can say for sure, the form in this video looks the closest to that which is taught at my kungfu school.

some of the most famous Pao Chui practitioners include xia lin shuen, tsu lao hyun, lee byun win, and of course, Reptile from Mortal Kombat.
Of course. But who knew reptile was trained by the shaolin monks. It was an act of snakery!
@@ajcastellon5903 since pao Quan is taught in private reptile probably sat in hiding and watched it being taught.
Don’t forget Liu Kang
That looks like some kind of bodhidharma/da mo form. Oooooh... I want to learn this form very much. It just enchanting.
Very pretty form. Makes me feel like getting back into the martial arts.
very smooth yet internally powerful technique
i love the grace and the flowing movement...almost weightless

i think he is got some good moves,
Nice! Clear movements, first seen as primitive, but soon they appear real fight significance. Everything genious seems always simple.
So this is actually Shaolin Leopard Fist? Awesome.
