Why is it that all Doberman's have the same tantrum...and I never get tired of laughing how funny they are. It' s not because we spoil them of course. We never spoil our Dobermans
If I had one I know I'd spoil them. But when I say spoil yes there would still be boundaries and rules in place lol. But that dog would be spoiled in attention and he would not be on some regular kibble. Oh no that dog would be on a cooked, human grade food lol. And he would share in holiday stuff or his birthday of special food creations just for them. The kind with ingredients that won't hurt the dog of course. Yeeeeah that dog would be living the life lol. But that's just me.
I had a dobie that looked exactly like the one in the video. He would act and sound exactly the same too when he wanted something and I was not quick enough in pleasing him. I swear to God the hardest thing I have ever done in my life was having to put him down. It was like losing a child. Like the song says, may God "Bless the beasts and the children." and all who helplessly rely upon us.
Been three years since we had to put our Red Dobie down. My wife or I could not do it, but thankfully our former neighbor went with my wife and walked our dog in when it was time because my wife was just beside herself. Best dog ever. This dog saved our house from burning down and possibly the entire family's lives. Can't ask for any more than that. Dog or human.

This beautiful dog behaves just like a human child. Throwing a tantrum about something small and waiting for a response from mommy. But that "are you finished?" was definitely not the reaction Charley wanted and so, exactly as a child would, he began to blow up even more. LOVE it.
Cute. I had a red dobie who would lie on the bed. Then it was time for him to get off. First he'd pretend he was dead and/or hard of hearing. Then he'd open one eye to see if I was still there (yes, I know he knew I was there by scent). Then came the one legged crawl to the edge of the bed "see! I have three broken legs!". Finally he'd hop off.

Dobies are such big babies. They're fearless watchdogs but fall to pieces over the silliest things. My friend's Dobie used to go bonkers over a cat outside his window. The cat would just sit outside, grooming itself while King would be inside carrying on. Once in a while the cat would look up as if to say, "Do I hear something?" and then go back to the grooming.
He does that because he knows he's dearly loved. They understand humans. They can connect with their humans very deeply. And when the time comes, the love and the bond between each party makes a deepest scar in humans' lives. And I believe they also understand how sad we are to lose them. Because, they even understand human spirit. I buried my doberman, my child, my son in my heart a decade ago, but I still carry that scar whenever, wherever. And the scar which only God knows how significant in my life.
jbrett yoo my blue cattle dog died 11 years ago. Still miss him every day. My labrador passed last year. Not a day goes by ...i still shut the gate so she cant get out. Humans and dogs have been together a very long time.
Great comment. Dogs can substitute for children. Like children, it's our responsibly to care for them. In return, they bring much joy to our lives :-) The only problem is that, different from our children, they don't live as long as we do :-(

Same as my doberman only no growling allowed in my house. When she's laying on our bed at night my hubbie tells her to get off so she shuffles her position hoping that's enough..then she will shuffle to another part of the bed...then if continually told to get off she will jump behind me and lay flat trying to hide behind me thinking the hubbie doesn't see her...it's hilarious! But in the end..I tell her to get off and she will then sulk away to her own huge foamy quilted bed a few feet away...poor thing...I hope she doesnt call the animal police on us...
Hanora Brennan Oh shes not cold! She's just an intense snuggler! When shes cold she will jump on the bed and aggressively paw my covers and me. Then i put her pajamas on her..shes WILDLY HAPPY to get her jammies on...runs around like crazy like just after a bath...then she will snuggle back into her own bed.
'GROWLING?" No...that was just 'dog talking'...when a dog 'growls' for real, anything that can hear knows 'some bad shit's gonna' happen' if whatever it is doesn't 'back-off'.

Yankee yes! Mine too. I adopted her this year. She's 9 and she will nudge anyone's elbow in a house for attention but outside she's in watch dog mode. She's never thrown a tantrum like this but I will say hey your teddy and she'll grab her teddy bear and go to her bed. I often say awwww you're not tough kiddo.
