Kate's interest in BTS led me to watch 1 or 2 of their videos. I have watched a few other K-Pop artists also. K-Pop reminds me of a type of 1960s American Pop Style music. As a result I view these acts and their music, as similar, yet different from what I regard as Rock music. I am trying to avoid giving a complex explanation. I like the music for what it is. I salute the artists skills.
You are right, these artists are amazing, for they make this music their own. BTS puts on a pleasing show for their audience. For those open to happy entertainment, BTS and K-Pop, fits all ages.
I write an Oldies music blog, which sometimes features new artists, I like. I am always looking at old and new music. This is why I see K-Pop as representing an American Style of music, which is mostly dead in America. That BTS does very well in America is a great thing. For me, old is new again, but from the unique perspective of Korea.
Before I turn this into a blogpost, let me say, I appreciate your comment. If you are Korean, I have a special place in my heart for Korea and Koreans. Kate has been looking a little down to me in recent videos. That she is giggling, laughing, and smiling in this video because of BTS makes me glad. Music does wonders for the soul. BTS came to Kate's rescue, though they may never know this. My prayers are K-Pop artists find what Kate found by watching BTS. I'm sorry we have lost some young K-Pop artists. Thanks again for your kind comment. I just had to reply. :-)
