- In case you want to know why VIXX gained their title “The concept kings” & “Concept-dol” this video will go through all their concepts including the members’ solo/sub-unit releases! (Exception: Japanese, non-title tracks) Remember, their lyrics, choreo, & MVs come together to tell a story! I’m just going through their concepts in general! This vid is already long ~_~ imagine if I went through every fan theory out there O_o that will take me forever xD My PC crashed 5 times while making this vid! I decided not to make funny videos for a couple of weeks out of respect for Jonghyun! This’s the last video in the series VIXX 101! I will still make VIXX videos, but without the school theme, which means you’ll not see the stupid intro every time. Also, some people may have thought that it has to do with producer 101 O_O idk if I will do level 200 or just make videos without a theme! *Please try to watch the video when u have time! I worked hard for 3 weeks to research VIXX concepts to leave this video out there for people who want to know more about their concepts! It may not be the most entertaining video, but it will make u appreciate VIXX more and the depth of their content & music!!*

Also to add to the Blossom Tears MV, a lot of ppl didn't realize that there's actually 2 women in the mv (I didn't realize it the first time i watch it too tbh). One being his ex gf (played by Gugudan's Soyee), and his current gf. After his past gf left him, he was heavily traumatized by it and kept having thoughts that the current gf would do the same. He killed her and kept her heart so she would be 'with him' forever.
maryam101kikiki I honestly thought he was keeping his favorite parts (or things) about his ex. The girl seemed to be understanding and caring which is why he took her heart? He makes different dresses for each girl (it seems) because there was a lot of jars..
agree , but I think , the story line it's a lil bit complicated and creepy at the first time you see it , but it's very touchfull when you understand it . not only her heart that he keep , but a whole body of her . He scared that the girls will leave him again , so he just doesn't want her to gone , but i think he's a lil bit psycho (?)
My favorite is still Jekyll&Hyde. Like who would have thought of using it like that?? And the choreo for Hyde is absolutely stunning, it tells the story itself. They have dialogues within the choreography. Love it. Kings

I'm A Greek Starlight and I have to say VIXX are Kings. They are the only artist that made our history concept right.
I agree completely that “On & On” was the start of them becoming Concept Idols, making a distinction between themselves and other idol groups image of being cutesy/innocent by not being afraid of delving into the dark corners of humanity and psych. Vixx concepts acknowledges and accepts both sides of humanity and themselves: the good and the bad, the devil and angel, ying and yang, et al...they do not shy away from the darkness and pretend to be perfect. I sometimes get confused whenever Vixx comes up with light concepts throughout the albums because I personally prefer grittier concepts, that fight within the darkness and light that exits within each individual, and what would the outcome be of their choices.

Agree with you.. Leo should be in drama.. As some would have seen him in musical or snippets of it.. He's like a different Leo we've seen in VIXX 😊

I don’t remember where I read it (probably in the comment section of the music video), but I read someone’s theory that the different sets for each individual member during Chained Up had to do with their biggest fear. Ex. Hongbin drowning, which is why he’s halfway submerged in water. Not sure if it’s the actual reason, but I thought the explanation for each set was cool/interesting

Ah we needed this vid! The next time someone tells me VIXX is just a normal group with nothing different about them, that happened to me recently because of the "cute" concepts they did, Imma show this vid if I can! I didn't realize that Hongbin was the robot maker, clever!
I adored VIXX after Eternity, the first Kpop song to make me cry, but my favorite has got to be the Greek mythology trilogy, specifically Fantasy from Hades. I honestly don't know what concept I'd want them to do next; I just know that they'll blow me away.

. Error; the song, lyrics, choreography, storyline are top notch
. 2016 Conception; even now I'm still in awe everytime I think about those 3 albums
. Voodoo doll; the concept tht made me went 'whoaa whoaaa whoaaaa....!!!' the whole music video
Actually there's so many concepts I want vixx to do but recently I have huge obsession of vixx doing a ballad concept. I think it will display their vocal the best way.

I always say that Vixx is more than their concepts but it's great to look at their discography and see how they work really hard to show something new while still maintaining who they really are as a group. Thank you for this video 💕

About the story about Leo and Lyn
There is a other side theory about the story (it’s not mine I saw someone els say so)
This is what she wrote:
Leo is a man who loves his woman alot but is scared she will run away he makes a dress for her to express his love and when she wears is he wants to marry her as soon as posibble so she will always be by his side Because he faild so often in the loveworld he keeps everything of every woman he once loved Parfum sents, hair etc. At the middle of the story the woman try’s to go away because she doesn’t like him annymore he saw she left and Distoys his Office She came back to say her last goodbye’s he saw his chance and gave her a pil so she would die and he kept her hart because that is what he loved the most of her And made the rest of her body in a mannequin
Again is this somthing I saw someone els write so I don’t know if this is the true story or not But I liked the massage so I thought I would share it with you.

chained up -
each room is a representation of their own personal fear which is why in the end they all manage to escape although im not sure about the girl and the beginning. this is a fan theory though but it does seem to make a lot of sense. the chained up part represents not being able to break past their fears and being chained by it
n: fear of injury = broken mirrors
leo: fear of spotlight = gold chains
ken: fear of being forgotten (alone) = glass box
ravi: fear of disappearing from the spotlight = the bright maze
hongbin: fear of water (drowning) = literal room filled with water
hyuk: fear of not improving = stairs leading to no where

this is a theory i remember the members actually explaining themselves
the woman hongbin loved passed away (who knows why though) and in order to not feel any emotion, he turns himself into a robot, leaving all his human memories and emotions behind. however he stumbles upon a robot that looks exactly like his past lover and all his memories with her come back. he decides to transfer his lovers memories into the robot girl but its illegal so the police(?) took the girl away. they managed to escape and destroyed themselves because they decided that they would rather be dead than be apart. the robotic heart is made up of both of their parts symbolizing that theyll always be together even after death
voodoo doll -
as far as i know (personal theory), its about being controlled by your lover like a voodoo doll. and it gets to the point where they are suffering because of their lovers actions but they cant do anything bc they are so in love with her. the "should i go should i stay" line represents the internal struggle between wanting to leave for the sake of themselves and staying bc of their strong feelings for the girl. in the end, even though they managed to escape, they still found themselves being caught by the girl (a representation of finding themselves going back to the girl)

vampire concept yes!!!! they look real good as vampires. this mv is pretty hard to interpret but my personal (shitty) theory is
on and on is most likely set during a war time period based on how dirty them and the military girls look. so vixx is captured by the military and blasted to the moon in rockets. since theyre technically slaves/prisoners, the military lose nothing even if they die so they just blast vixx to the moon to bring back this mysterious girl that they already captured. however at the end you can see vixx standing there with the girl untied, signifying that they will stay on the moon with her.
the girl could possibly be something that would kill them eventually bc shes shining in the end and theyre vampires idk if she has some kind of special power or something. this comes from the fact that the entire song is basically about falling in love and chasing someone even though you know that they dont return your feelings and are just playing with you.

As a starlight, I wished you delved deeper for the Shangri-la concept but I understand it would take a lot of time to even make it but damn, this just reminds me how much thought they put into their music and videos and dance. *Truly concept kings* . And I'm extremely proud to be part of this fandom.

And this is why i appreciate vixx and also kpop as a whole. They put a lot of thought into their music. The concept, storyline, choreo,the music production itself, and even their physical albums are different from western artist, it's unique and creative. If only grammy acknowledge music without worrying about the different language and wants to actually learn about kpop, i'm sure kpop will dominate the grammy.

Someone may have already mentioned this but their concept for Superhero was Pop Art. They did an excellent job with the contrast and primary colors. They started with an excellent concept and have gotten better and better!

Vixx - The Closer Theory
(Warning: lots of text ahead)
Basically, the mv is based off Homer's Iliad.
Girl = Helen of Troy
N = Meneleus
- Meneleus is the husband of Helen; the girl (Helen) reaches out to him when he falls, suggesting that they are a couple, like Helen and Meneleus.
Leo = Paris
- It is revealed that Leo is stealing the girl from (3:18-3:20), representing Paris kidnapping Helen.
Ravi = Aphrodite
- In the Iliad, Aphrodite offers Helen of Troy to Paris so she can be declared the fairest among the goddesses. This is represented in (2:53-2:56); it seems like Ravi is making some kind of love potion meant for Helen.
- (1:58) Ravi is looking towards Leo, representing how Aphrodite desires Paris to pick her as the fairest.
Hongbin = Achilles
- Achilles was a great warrior in the Trojan war, but he is killed when there is a arrow shot into his heel. Notice in the video when Hongbin falls (0:38) his heel is exposed; this quite literally represents the fall of Achilles.
- (2:05) Hongbin looks towards N, which can symbolize how Hongbin is on N's side, like Achilles was on Meneleus' side in the Trojan War.
Hyuk = Hector
- Hyuk being in a car crash can represent how Achilles murdered Hector and disrespected his corpse by dragging it behind his chariot. In both ways, you die horrifically.
- (3:30-3:40) Hongbin is chasing after Hector, which can represent how Achilles wants to murder Hector (b/c in the Iliad, Hector murders Patroclus, who was close to Achilles). Also, Hyuk chases after N, which shows how Hector wants to kill Meneleus, since they are on opposing sides.
Ken = Zeus
- Throughout the mv, Ken seems to be almighty and powerful, since he has white hair and seems to be one of the few that is aware of what's happening in the mv.
Im fucking crying with these theorys man. Actually, I always cry listening to Eternity. Well, I think you should dig deeper in the 2016 concept. Doing a video only about it. If you want, I can help, I have my theorys.

So we should give thanks to Hyuk for coming up with the Vampire Concept in On and On since it was what set VIXX apart from other idol groups who always are prone to use the sunshine and rainbows concept both girl and boy groups. On and On helped VIXX realize that there is more than one way to represent their music, style, video, and story concept. It opened the doors too many marvelous stories never told through music and music videos itself instead of always being on a stage and film, for example, Eden, BDSM, Greek Gods, Vampire, Voodoo, Robotics, Dr. Jekyll/Hyde, Game, Psycho, and so on.

I seem to remember seeing a few theories about Chained Up and how their personal sets had something to do with one of their fears, like Hongbin's flooded set(he can't swim). Something like that. Worth a read. Side note, I wouldn't mind a video about Shangri La :)

Actually, according to VIXX, the rooms in Chained Up symbolize different stages/emotions/struggles of being love slaves (in no particular order):
N = being hurt
Ravi = being restricted
Leo = confusion
Hyuk = fear
Hongbin = submission
Ken = happiness

They get into the 6 meanings at around 7:00 for those who want to have a look at it.
Now I guess it's still up to everyone whether they see these struggles in those rooms or something else, these meanings are not forced on you. I personally think that's the beauty of these concepts, that they are still open to interpretation. Honestly, VIXX is so good at bringing us immersive and thought-out concepts and they make it so much fun to analyze their mvs, no matter how we interpret everything. truly concept kings, I love them so much and I wish they got more recognition for all their talent and hard work.
Maybe someone else already pointed this out with the rooms, I didn't read all the comments, so I'm not sure. Anyways, I hope this was helpful to those who want to analyze Chained Up further:P
