I could't make out Mariya's facial expression in the studio recording , but in this 2000 live video , I learned that she sings with a pained expression on her face . Poor Mariya . Kris , have you ever had your heart broken ? I have . It was very painful . And the passage of time has added on even sadder meaning to this song . Drummer Jun Aoyama ( 青山純 ) passed away in 2013 , and saxophonist Hidefumi Toki ( 土岐英史 ) passed away in 2021. Although it is late , I pray for the souls of both . I like the live version better than the studio ver because the live ver has the instrumental part in the ending that wasn't in the studio ver . My favorite part is at 6:27 , when Mariya bows , smiles and waves after singing la la la . A smile after long period of suffering . And then Mariya walked up to Shimote ( 下手 ) and bowed again . Shimote refers to the left side when viewed from the audience seats . Mariya's demeanor is graceful and pleasing to the eye . I said wow just like you Kris .
