Kenma used to play videogames in the club room with the lights out, because of his long black hair it remind people of sadeko there were rumors about a ghost in the Club's room so the team told him that if he keep doing that he will receive a lot of attention (and Kenma hates being the center of attention) so his solution was to dyed

His teammates expected him to cut his hair short, but since Kenma wanted to keep his hair long to block periphery vision, he went with that solution instead. And now he stood out even more with long blond hair. 😂
i think kuroo and kenma's friendship is prob the most well-done friendship in the series, they remind me a lot of me and my best friend. seeing them get along and click so effortlessly despite being opposites is really satisfying to watch. they're also both smartasses which makes their banter even funnier
I love how the Monkey team recognizes kenma as the #1 main threat in nekoma, which shows how nationals are actually scary. Most teams back then would overlook Kenma but this one has studied him and are coming up with good tactics to bring him down. This game is very important for Kenma's character development as in how he's going to overcome this.
Fun fact: Kenma dyed his hair because he always looks down and Yamamoto got scared of him and told him that he looks like Sadako or sum. So he dyed it.
i love the parallel between tanaka and yamamoto.. like during their respective "change" after entering the team, tanaka lost his blonde and yamamoto got his blonde lol
The moments with Fukunaga and the bucket of water are great. And yeah, this episode does some good to elevate Taketora from just kind of being a joke with his similarities to Tanaka.
Fukunaga is amazing, and I'm so glad this match shows how his humor also plays into Nekoma's connection.

The explanation of Kenma dying his hair is actually in a bonus chapter, which was then adapted as an audio drama. Kenma's mind is an awesome place. And seeing him making genuine friends through volleyball is also heart-warming.
These individual episodes in season 4 are just back to back bangers with the development
There's also a neat parallel between Yamamoto and Hinata that we see; as the younger, upstart players itching to prove themselves, they both run into their seniors (Yamamoto with Kuroo and Hinata with Asahi). I love this episode because it shows us a lot about Kenma and the adjustments he's had to make to understand his fellow players. Also, it gives us a glimpse of how a more established team got to be that way; they had to tackle many things that Karasuno did before they grew as well.
I so love Kenma's use of imagination to counter the lack of will in doing tasks. Sometimes it's our viewing something in a different way that helps us get through difficulties.
i love nekoma focus episodes. even seeing little quips of other schools is always interesting. i liked this one in particular because it introduced a dynamic between kenma and taketora we really knew nothing about. hq really never misses with the flashbacks
These two episodes about Nekoma and the backstory of Kenma and Yamamoto are great. I love it.
Just for Ian's information, Fukunaga's dad jokes are way funnier in Japanese. Isaiah obviously knew that already because he's fluent in Japanese.

Edit: I call the moment when these two get wayyy too emotional during the Nekoma VS Karasuno match. Ain't a spoiler since the anime mentions it but damn how I wish Season 5 will come out soon so I can watch the next few matches animated.
Also, Nekoma is such a well-rounded team, I love Fukunaga and his puns. This man appeared for all of twenty seconds in the anime and I love him. This is what Haikyuu does to you ppl.
Kenma and Kuroo have one of the cutest friendships in Haikyuu, period.
This episode was just pure laughs and wholesomeness, what with the conversation among the three third years, Kuroo, Yaku and Kai, and the Kenma cat eyes.

Love seeing other teams perspective
Don't know u gonna read or not but i hope after finish the anime u guys do manga reaction for get better and full context of the story cause goodam is getting so cringe when Isaiah talk trash to suguru(snake team) cause the anime cut scene when Kuro confront some people who call nohebi cheating etc after the match
The anime did Daishou (and the rest of Nohebi) dirty for skipping that part; it gave the audience another viewpoint to Nohebi's tactics as a team, which is interesting. The stage play adaptation for that arc (the run is called "Tokyo no Jin" / "The Tokyo Matches") included that bit and made Nohebi really interesting as a team too.
Somehow forgot what episode was coming after Tanaka's stuff last ep.
