  • I filmed this one a year ago, and I'm not sure why it didn't get released back then! But the content is still important!
    Swarovski may be gone (except for selling old stock) but we have Preciosa, and as you'll find out in the video, that's a great option!
    You can find our (still growing) Preciosa stock here: shop.jillwisem...

    Thank you for the comparisons, Jill. I now really hope the world stands by Preciosa and supports them. Like you stated, trying to take over an entire industry in so little time would be SO incredibly challenging. Bless them.

    Jill 🦄I received my Bead on it Board today I love it 😍 I had a few for friends not nearly as pretty as yours 🦄 I make most of my bracelets mainly for the women going through chemotherapy . I try to go at least once a month. I’ve been in their shoes twice. No boobs they are over rated I have to think of it like that. Anyway just to see their faces when I pass them out . I don’t charge them it’s just worth it to see their smiles. Just wanted to say thank you for my board Diane

    Oh, Jill! Thank you so so so much! This was so helpful and informative. I am especially excited that you will be carrying the pearls! Even before we heard the news that Swarovski was quitting us, I had been slowly transferring over to Preciosa pearls because they are so much better. I have been looking for someone in the US that will be carrying these. I believe I found her!💞

    Swarovski is still actively being sold, even to those who didn’t sign the brand control agreement. The big distributors like Dreamtime, Bluestreak, Crystal Idea, etc. are ALL selling Swarovski, just repackaged and under a new name (Dreamtime, Serinity, Primero). It’s insane that people aren’t catching on, still but they aren’t!!!🤦🏽‍♂️

    I have been using precious seed beads for a while. I love the consistency in size the comparison in price I'd large and you get .ore in a packet for your money. I welcome there bicone range but I have been using Austrian crystals that are very pretty seem to have more shine but that could be my old eyes lol. Looking forward to there line in pearls too.

    Crystal honey is Preciosa's answer to Swarovski's Golden Shadow. Preciosa also has another deeper amber shade which I don't have right now. Neither are close enough to Golden Shadow to be substituted. Oh well.

    They don't feel any thing like the swarovski in my opinion, i bought some preciosa recently and they are no where near identical and i found them to be rougher feeling no where near so smooth and not quite the same lustre , i find them very easy to tell apart .and not too keen on them to be honest .

      Maybe you'd prefer Chinese crystals instead? The price on any remaining Swarovski stock is going to go way up, already many colors and shapes are no longer available.

      @JillWisemanDesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You may have older Preciosa stock too. Like I mentioned in the video, when I tried them out years ago, I definitely felt a difference. But their production capabilities have improved over time, which means the beads have also (and will continue to do so.)

    • @BeadPie
      @BeadPie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JillWisemanDesigns yes indeed , may be they had older stock and that is why , I sure will miss my Swarovski , but hopefully I will get some of their new stock and they will be better , and No , I find chinese crystals cut my threads and the sizes are un even . I love the way the Swarovski crystals feel on your skin , I will be very happy if I find the new preciossa beads as smooth to the touch as my Swarovski x P.S. the Diamond dome bracelet is still my favourite , I love that pattern and have made it in a few colours now ,I replaced the size 6 seed bead in the middle of the dome for a 3mm swarovski and it worked really well , thanks for all your tutorials they have helped me become a better beader , much love from the U.K and Happy new year x

      I just purchased preciosa crystals at my local bead shop. The only thing that I have noticed is that the Swarovski crystals have a deeper saturated color. I also find the size is a little different in the two. The new preciosa I purchased have a nice sparkle to them. I hope that preciosa can match the sizes, but will have to adjust pattern to work.

    Only think that has really upset me, I always chose prec, the swark was $2.50 for a small bag of 44 and pres was $1.50 for 44 bicone’s as soon as swark said the public demands ends pres jacked up their prices. And swark at some places even double their prices for the small amount they had left. I was angry because of this. Are they both beautiful beads yes, but I can do without their all of a sudden greed at places that sell them. So I haven’t bought any for almost a yr. sad places are like this. But I never seen a difference in either of the 2. Tfs hugs

    • @JillWisemanDesigns
      @JillWisemanDesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

But I’m just one person, and I’m not one to hurry up and buy “the best” heck I’m happy to have a low grade bicone as long as the piece I’m working one turns out beautiful. That’s us all that matters to me. 😊 sorry about he confusion. Stores, not the distributors. Tfs hugs
