      For anyone confused on what they mean by, "it's a customer image," OP means that the picture was intentionally blurred for the video for privacy reasons.

I am very curious, how did you learn software pc-3000 and in general how did you get your understanding of how a computer interfaces with the nand controller and how the controller does with the nand? Question for you, instead of using the erector set to make contacts, why not use a header soldered to the pcb and then have the erector set connect to that? it would be easier and faster to connect. not to mention putting the points in the middle of the header connections gives it two points of contact not one.

    Interesting!
    I use Flash Extractor for flash recovery, but it's interesting to see PC-3000 in use. It does look a lot more polished than FE.
    The spider board looks cool too, I imagine it's useful for pinout discovery too. Does PC-3000 provide any tools to automatically determine the pinout using it?
    Or do you do pinout discovery the old-fashioned way with a Logic Analyser channel connected to every trace on the monolith?

    • @hddrecoveryservices
      @hddrecoveryservices  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Truth be told I thought that pinout discovery was out of this world difficult thing. But it's not that hard. In 2021 we will launch something that will make it super easy.

      @@lordsethos2000 You might be able to get some of the data back - he has other videos of reading disks where the head destroyed at least one platter surface, but the others are still readable. I had a seagate 1TB drive die a long time ago with some photos I cared about on it. From what I read, it could've just needed a head swap. Because I had access to a clean room, I opened the drive up to have a look - it was FULL of head dust, and at least one of the platter surfaces was completely destroyed. Needless to say I didn't bother buying the head comb or donor drives to attempt any recovery. I still probably have the drive somewhere - maybe it could at least be partially recovered if I sent it in...
