In this video, we will be recovering data from a refurbed memory card, that instead of a traditional chip was using Sandisk SD card via NAND protocol. This is a common scenario for no-name cards to use monolithic devices for NAND storage. The Sandisk SD card probably failed quality control and was later sold to the "refurb manufactures" that use anything they can get their hand on for storage. It goes without saying that the reliability of such memory cards is very much nonexistent. If you use a no-name card for anything that would not be working loosing, do yourself a favor, and switch to a proper card before it is too late. With help of the PC3000 flash and spider board adapter, we were able to establish a connection with the NAND. Reading the NAND, error correction, and block arrangement had to lead us to nearly flawless recovery.

TH-cam : are you going to sleep?
Me : yes, and why?
TH-cam : wait, how about watching how pros recover dead sd card
Me : say no more
classic! Thanks Rahmat!
@@hddrecoveryservices my pleasure sir
When it recovered that first blurry picture I thought it was semi-corrupted, then I realized it was just blurred out because it's a customer image!
Same here he said "open up perfectly" and I was like... What?
Not gonna lie was pretty confused myself lol.
For anyone confused on what they mean by, "it's a customer image," OP means that the picture was intentionally blurred for the video for privacy reasons.
#metoo
Me five
That's some Hellraiser level data recovery.
I thought he would open file explorer after hooking up the spider. Wasn't prepared for that. Awesome video
You guys this looks hard - imagine being assigned to program that software.
As a software developer, I thought the same. Such a very complex software that is only used by less than 1000 people, probably.
This is what i call real quality content! great stuff!
I could have sworn when you placed #2 pin it wasn't touching the pad you made..... but hey! it read it! Congratulations on the data recovery and thank you for the videos!!!! videography and editing are both time consuming and I realize that thank you for your time in sharing these!
it's insane to see how technology occupies a huge chunk of the repair industry
This is relaxing to watch
even on 1.5 speed
So they use SD card as a NAND chip for another SD card ? Because... THEY CAN !
That confused me. I take it the larger PCB had SD card edges on the underside.
I use to stay clear of spiders 🤤 now I want one on "my" desk. Life is funny that way...
Thank You 👍😎
Excellent Job sir! I love your work and the fact that you share it with us.
Hello from toronto! Love the vids. I am very curious, how did you learn software pc-3000 and in general how did you get your understanding of how a computer interfaces with the nand controller and how the controller does with the nand? It's become one of my fav parts of the vids but you fly through it like a pro :)
User manual, support, acelab forum, time, and practice. At first, PC3000 did look a little overwhelming as there are a lot of functions and options. I am sure that training that they offer can be extremely helpful.
@@hddrecoveryservices awesome so you're self taught? Good for you! Looking forward to your next vid!
When you find out it was just full of memes 😂
Too much work just to recover some rare high quality porn.
It was his Pepe collection, the rarest
YES!!! I just use monolit board for recovering data from usb with alcor controller and COB nand (use wires to connect it with help of datasheet and your previous video) and i recover data!!! Very happy about that. Thanks for sharing this and espetially for PC300 because i have same tools (excluded spider board). Like as always
That's amazing! Congrats!
Imagine finding some important data in one of such sd cards
Bitcoins?
very impressive - you are an amazing data recovery artist
Worked in IT for 20years...loved this ..We all have a roll..
thanks!
Nice recovery job, you made it look easy! Any chance of a video where you explain how you did the the spider pin mapping?
Mapping depends on the device. This is a Sandisk unit with a known pinout. We are editing clips where custom pinout discovery has to be made. It will come
Never thought it would be that interesting to watch someone fix an SD card lol
Haha, I am glad you liked it. Stick around for more. I am working on some good stuff right now
I was just waiting that you will be getting image atleast at final 😅 Great video .. knowledgeable💯
I like how he list tools used to check out. Big numbers.
That's an awesome piece of kit. Thanks for showing us its use.
Yeah, it's fun to use
Thanks for recovering all the lost memes
Solid video man, great walkthrough of the process and skill level required to do this.
Thanks Tim!
I am a plumbing and heating engineer and sick to death of my job. I’d love to do something like this what university do I need to do this kind of job?
That thumbnail triggered my arachnophobia
It looks like a recovery data from 18th century, good job.
Haha
apple should be taking notes from this vid instead of their "your data cannot be recovered" excuse.
Thanks
Yooo.... that thumbnail looks like a spider
Amazing. Cheers from Poland.
Hello! Thanks for watching
That's some science fiction hacker stuff right there.
This is some deep stuff recovery... You like went to ShiftDelete-dimension and pulled it back to "delete to bin" only
Umm... that's one way to say it
Question for you, instead of using the erector set to make contacts, why not use a header soldered to the pcb and then have the erector set connect to that? it would be easier and faster to connect. not to mention putting the points in the middle of the header connections gives it two points of contact not one.
Seeing this makes me wanna burn my phone to a crisp instead of selling to an unknown person.
Hahah, I see that. But factory reset will wipe out blocks and most likely change encryption, so I would not stress over that
@@hddrecoveryservices thanks. That gives me some relief ☺️
What's your job?
__I'm a surgeon__
Woah, that's cool! What's the most complex surgery you've done?!
__I've done surgery on a small SD card__
Wait wut?
🤣
Fascinating! I find it funny they were shooting 23-30 MB pictures on an unknown low quality card.
4 years ago, I spent extra on a UHS-II card, it's still going strong and was well worth it.
(How much does something like that cost btw??)
I just bricked my Lumia 920 while upgrading software on WDR. I want to bring it back to life, Can you help me with that.
You are excellent as always ...
That Card contains John Cena's Actual photo....
Wow nice tool, spider alert 😃, nice videos....
Good job! - a question, why are the BGA-pads called "technological"? Also a small nitpick. The B in "PCB" is board, so "PCB board" is a misnomer :)
I recognized Irfan View. Nice!
The best thumbnail tool :)
can i ask, which kind of camera you use for the video, quality so good, especial the close shot
You mean the microscope camera?
@@hddrecoveryservices yes!!! very interested
@@hddrecoveryservices so what kind of camera is that?
I would imagine the needles alone for that jig are a few tens of dollars each.
This tool is not a cheap one indeed. You can catch a video with an updated version that I will post
that tool PC3000 very amazing, have a lot option on reading partition, LBA, sector, ECC.. that creator really understand all data format..
Thank you!
ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ❤️😍 amazing and beautiful video ❤️😍🙏🌹
Thanks, I enjoyed watching you do that.
Your work is beautiful!
Thanks 👍
yes yes i know what i am doing and what he is talking about yes
Well, this takes much time to recover
Quick question does it matter what needle goes where
That's some pretty amazing flux you used there. What kind/brand of flux is that?
I dropped all the links to products in description
Nice spider!
It's very confusing when you never show the other side of the Sandisk SD card PCB. Where is the data stored??
inside
So where does one learn Data recovery? I am an Cybersecurity Security Instructor and I have never learned in college how physically damaged data is recovered.
There is no specific place to learn it. Data recovery industry mainly is driven by Acelab for tool manufacturing. They have tools for everything from drives to RAIDs, flash drives to SSDs. Training is also available from them.
You said, we should look at the schematic, so from where can I get the schematic?
They did surgery on a SD!
Not just the no name card, the .nef file hints that the guy uses nikon. So he uses garbage camera to shoot and stored the photos in a garbage card. Change the camera to canon..
Lol this video breaks the TH-cam codecs.
I THINK EVERY THING IN THIS FIELD EFFECTUAL IN RECOVERY WAYS
Great vid, made me think about permanent data deletion. Is it a myth that zeroed data can be recovered?? Or what are the most effective ways to dispose data?🤔
If you replace the block with any new content (0s or anything else really) old data will be gone
Hello I am from India I have 5 Sony
8GB pendrives some mem. its state fat32what should I do ?what might b software will recover and repair my data
And i want add-on my skills to learn about both software and hardware data recovery your video just awaken me for this
Very interesting video. How much did the customer paid for such service?
Usually it will cost a grip.
I think most of the recovery people are having, are people who shoot pictures. In this case, it was a guy who used a Nikon camera, with a bad memory card :D
I don't even know why I am here watching video till end! 🤔🤔
This video pops up in my recommanded. 1day after I lost 1tb of data....wtf....I did not search anything related.....
google spy :)
No idea what's going on, still interesting. Where have you learn all of this?
Interesting!
I use Flash Extractor for flash recovery, but it's interesting to see PC-3000 in use. It does look a lot more polished than FE.
The spider board looks cool too, I imagine it's useful for pinout discovery too. Does PC-3000 provide any tools to automatically determine the pinout using it?
Or do you do pinout discovery the old-fashioned way with a Logic Analyser channel connected to every trace on the monolith?
Truth be told I thought that pinout discovery was out of this world difficult thing. But it's not that hard. In 2021 we will launch something that will make it super easy.
Hello, I hope this meets you well. A quick reminder, did you release anything yet regarding the pinout, please?
#1 Question of the day LOL why would an SD Card get so hot when I try to put it in my computer?? Thank you in advance
#2 I'm trying to figure out what's happening when I try opening an SD Card and it will not allow me to see anything on it but it says Full
Тоже смотрел на такого паучка, но потом подумал, что времени на это жаль :-)
Hi sir, am very intrested in learning data recovery skills am from Tanzania. I got a simple universal reader for nand chips. I wanted to ask is there any possibility to decode files from a flash rom nand ic used in music keyboard. I got the Bin file but am stuck on decoding it, is there any way since this doesnt have a controller like normal storage devices
I have a 2.5 hdd that spins but the actuator arm moves over the platters and then resets itself back onto it's cradle. It does this over and over again. The drive isn't detected by my computer. Any idea what the problem could be?
Original problem was dead heads, but now since you opened it it may have escalated into something more severe. It's super easy to contaminate a hard drive and create a bunch of irreversible damage
Nice job 👍
Ur skills of recovering precious memories are awesome.. =)
Why the three of the exactly same comment?
@@煉獄杏寿郎-y9m omg..i didn't notice that..i think my phone got problem..sry about that..
Still..awesome video..👍😄
By the way..how about hard disc.. u got video to recover it too?..thx
thank you...
Just wondering if you’d be able to retrieve data from an iPhone that got full and now it’s stuck on apple logo
Louis Rossman does that all the time. Apple say you can't but that is bollox.
Amazing work
was the SD-Card really dead? Because the dump quality is really nice lol :D
I guess we will never find out ...
jesus christ. glad im not a data recovery specialist lol.
Oh wow that is a great tool. Is this something you sell?
If not would share where I can find more info on it please?
www.acelab.eu.com - is the seller
@@hddrecoveryservices how much is it? Could you tell me please?
there's no price on the website and I got to jump through hoops loops and hooks to get a price from them.
this some complicated stuff bro! nice
Makes me feel like a ten year old in comparison!
Good job 👍
Thanks Hassan
At no point you showed the other side of the other module and that made me mad.
Fascinating
May u give any software for readonly card formet. I hv many card with data but. Its unble to formet show
wow that was amazing!
Deb, thank you
how much that spider board sir??? its good for jtag in mobile phones
I from Indonesia ver very like u all video
I think u are the best in the world
Thanks for your sharing
Will you be able to fix broken micro sd card?
probably not
Hello try brystom_hack on IG dude helped recover my lost files
Nice work bud
Nice I have the same toothbrush for cleaning pcbs
Owh shit. Wife found out NSFW.
I am watching it but I don't know why😂
How much you charge for this type of problem
Price is variable depending on a number of factors. Size, Brand, surface mount or monolith
