That's odd, i never seen a male mock mounting a female, is this normal in the wild or does it only exist in captivity.
It's actually not rare in the wild. The mock mounting behavior appears in all animals. I've seen for dogs but on other things, not female dogs. There's also a video of lion mock mounting on lion, and the title is Gay lions. But in fact, it's just the instinct to mate with a female of the lion

2 plateformes sur laquelle le lion et sa chérie peuvent s'étaler sur 2 surfaces , mais ils doivent grimper les rondins de bois pour accéder
à chacune des 2 plateformes .
