Aquí Asmik esta maravillosa en una de las arias más bellas de la ópera. El performance completo es increíble. Ojalá lo suban completo, porque la escena final es de lo mejor que he visto de las versiones de Eugenio Onegin. Gracias.
What a shame that the full performance is gone now... I had hoped to listen one more time. If there was a DVD of this performance you can guarantee I'd jump at the opprotunity to buy it...
Since the emotion continuously builds to a climax in this aria, I think it's an appropriate touch how she is faced away at the first part shown here. That adds to the build-up of dramatic effect.

…in my personal view I would leave MC always out of any consideration of comparing her to anybody. She has been and will be unique til the end of mankind. To mention Mrs. Netrebko is somehow useless.
Mrs. Grigrorian is certainly an extraordinary and outstanding brilliant singer. What remains over her hopefully successful career is to be seen. All the best anyway! RDS

Now in her early forties Asmik Grigorian is beginning to show signs of vocal fatigue - the result of too much singing of roles that are less than ideally suited to her essentially lyric voice - Butterfly, Salome, Senta... She would be well advised to rethink her career choices now, before the strain she evidences in her top voice begins to take its toll. She is a good actress, no doubt, but that alone does not suffice these days, when good singing actresses abound.

Poor technique ! She already had serious vocal problems and had to stop singing for a while !

Her technique is impeccable, and among the top sopranoes in the world she is definitely the best actress.
Just back home from her Paris concert. Disastrous. Very small volume trying to sing Salome. Barely audible . She has only two arias and she is looking at her iPad for the lyrics all the time. Oh and she is wearing a pair of sunglasses through the whole performance in Philharmonie de Paris!!. If you want to make sure nobody is looking at your eyes, you might need to choose another career path instead of being an opera singer. So disrespectful and unprofessional. And she doesn’t even have the talent and charisma for people to tolerate her unprofessional behavior. What a mediocre “star” created by all these promotions by her agent. thanks to all the recording technology made her sound big and interesting by sound balancing and remastering adjustment. She is Nothing like this in a real music hall.
