I can’t wait to see your Aussie influence on the builds ! I’m used to suburban homes but recently have been into more modern, contemporary, mid century updated homes :)
In Denmark where I live, we have dedicated areas of towns with summer houses. I would say that your house looks like a Danish summer house, especially with the black wood panelling on the outside.

Your builds are always just so impressive. They're not even that overly complicated, but mine could NEVER come out as clean as yours do! So amazing
Every time Deli corrects “Scandi” saying how actual people in Scandinavia may disagree, it brings me back to the Parenthood LP when the comments first went after her, correcting how their new house isn’t real Scandinavian. Poor deli has had to step on eggshells ever sense 😭😅 Since we don’t really have these homes in the US, I have yet to be gently scolded 😆

As a parent I’d prefer bedroom at the front of the house (if any rooms are in front), so I know who’s coming in and out, so my kids aren’t first to come in contact with people directly off the street. It’s a safety thing.

i know it's just a game but im always thinking of how rain comes off the roof (i live near the coast) and im just imagining how all of it on this house would get funneled to the same spot on the porch 😭
As a Floridian I always think the same thing. I always make sure that my roof “runs the water off”

I had the same thought. But we have to think of snow and rain and wind conditions with our roofs as I live in a high mountain desert.
It is crazy how I discovered this channel because of James, and now I am binge-watching the videos and I am like obsessed with your builds.
This floorplan is basically every new build in Australia Deli 😂You nailed it. The long entry hallway that opens to the back open plan is extremely common.

I love learning from you how to make a house look good and still be good for gameplay… also I think it would be really cool if you have a house or building that doesn’t match the rest or is more dated because I feel like everywhere you go in Australia you always see that
It would be fun to see you and Vixella do a swap challenge. Where you do cottage core and she does modern Australian. Or perhaps a wheel where you put different CC pack aesthetics on. Then build a house based on it. ❤
Or… what if we made Deli do a craftsman-style suburban house, make Vixella do a modern australian house, make Simsie do a contemporary industrial house , and make james do a cottage core house!
I love pretty homes but I usually download basic shells and then furnish them really sparsely because I'm easily overwhelmed by clutter and very out of sight, out of mind.
I love that you're doing this and also love that you often build Australian style houses because I have truly no idea what your regular homes look like!

I honestly can’t comprehend your building. I’ll go from “what the heck is that gonna be” to “holy cow that’s amazing”.
I say this everytime, but I love how considerate you are of pc performance !!! I use your builds all over the worlds in my game so as when my sim visits friends they go to decent places. Also, these builds always look amazing, route really well and are also really easy to adapt or customize to personal gameplay needs !!! Keep 'em coming !!!!

Hi Deli! In the main bathroom, hide the toilet from the first view is always a good practice, so it is better if you move the toilet near the exterior wall and "hide" it using the sink.

I did not know using a variety of wallpapers caused lag! Lot’s of things cause lag, most things you could guess on your own (I.e. having a lot of items on lot). Wallpaper is a surprise for me though. Good to know!
I’m on PS5 console, so I will take all the help I can get. There’s not much we can do to fix it, because performance is generally bad here.
For fellow console players, here are the steps I take to reduce lag as much as I possibly can:
1. Console specific one includes rebuilding your database frequently (PS5 for sure but probably Xbox too). Be cautious as if this process goes wrong (power outage during the process for example) if can create memory problems. I’ve never had this go badly, but it theoretically can. All you do is put your console into safe mode, then choose rebuild database. Do not reset anything. Rebuilding your database simply reorganizes your files to be easily accessable and results in faster loading and better memory usage. I do this monthly, but it depends on how often you play and the variety of games you play. Most players won’t need it every month I would guess.
2. Make sure your console has more memory than technically required. I will throw some random numbers as an example. The Sims requires 50gb. Your console only has 20gb remaining with all content installed. You may want to free up as much space as manageable for you. I have 120gb of extra space, but I didn’t calculate anything specific I just deleted what I didn’t need. A games memory usage varies during gameplay. For smooth playing with any game, you need an excess of memory not the bare minimum available to you.
3. Stick to as few Sims per world as possible. In your settings in the Sims, you can change the maximum allowable Sims. Certainly do not go with the max reccommended. I play with the minimum. Somewhere below 40 preforms best for me.
4. Edit as few lots as you can. Every lot you edit creates more lag. No matter how little or big. I don’t know precisely why this is, but every edited lot contributes. This may not be negotiable for many Simmers, especially because they like building. If that’s the case, maybe you should utilize other tips. For me, I still edit many lots but only those I deem necessary for good gameplay. I have not build all of Newcrest for example because that would add more lag.
5. With the last point in mind, having more items on a lot does create more lag. So in this aspect bigger lots can cause more lag, but due to amount of content. More items in general causes lag. However, some items cause more than the average item. For example, animated items. Mirrors are very notorious for this. Use fewer in your builds. Moving water like fountains also creates more lag than normal.
6. Manage your inventory. Sometimes our Sims inventories get cluttered. This goes hand in hand with the too many times on a lot, but rather it’s your inventory this time. My Sim keeps getting free seed packets (don’t know why) and I ended up with hundreds of them. A positive to this is actually that by selling extra items you get more Simoleons, and you may end up reducing your bills also since inventory items count towards lot value. Then in the end you contribute less to lag.
7. Play with less Sims per household. I know this is another frustrating one, but the more Sims you have control over the more lag you get. It’s something to consider when hosting parties also. Even when not in the household, having more Sims on the lot/area causes lag.
Not all of these items cause so much lag that the game is unbearable. Some may, but generally it’s all of these actions combined that begin to make it intolerable. Choose which ones work for you the best, and stick to them as much as possible.
Now, there are a couple of things that don’t cause lag necessarily but these are tips for minimizing.
1. Save and close game frequently. It’s frustrating with the long loading screens I know, but if you play for long periods of time you should be closing the game and restarting your console every couple of hours for optimal performance (since it degrades over time played).
2. If you notice lots of lag, you can occasionally pause your game and go into the options menu. Once you close out of the menu all lag occasionally will disappear.
3. Gameplay related one, but playing in triple speed can cause more lag as opposed to double speed. I use triple speed regularly, but if you use it all of the time maybe consider taking breaks.
Sorry it’s long winded, but I thought it would help some Simmers. Hope this improves your gameplay!
Love the build! Bedrooms in the front of the house are usually for guests, since it’s close to the kitchen and there’s usually a bathroom near it.

Beautiful build. And for what it's worth, I think it's really cool hearing your thoughts on ways that people could modify the build as you're touring it. As someone with no build skill at all, it's really interesting not just to watch a specific build, but to hear a skilled builder's thoughts on layout and changing things up. It gives a starting place if I ever needed to change things, and a bit of insight into the kind of things to consider if changes ever had to be made that I might not have thought of on my own, if that makes sense. :)

I lived in a rancher as a child and my bedroom was in front of the house and I hated it. I was always freaked out people were peeking through my window lol! Love this build. I'm working on your shell challenge..boy was this a hard one lol!

Love this house! 🤩I am currently using it in my gameplay in San Seqoia, with two adults and two children. I don't have the laundry pack so I transformed the laundryroom and toilet to one bedroom for the teenage boy instead. Thank you for all the awesome builds! I love decorating houses in the sims, but I'm not a builder 😅

True Scandinavian home has a sauna. In Finland there are over 2 million saunas for population of 5 million. In fact, there are more saunas than cars

I'm so glad you are doing an Australian Newcrest because I love Australian homes. I know I'm not Australian but I do love the architecture there.
Also I know here in 'Merica a lot of people like the bedroom in the front of the house because they can watch their home. Like for safety purposes. I know it's crazy to think about intruders in the process of buying your home but it's a thing I guess.

We have our main bedroom in the front of the house, the second is in the back. Wouldn't recommend it, but what are you going to do 🤷♀️😅 a positive thing about the placement is that the only bathroom is just on the other side of a hallway. On suits isn't that common here in Sweden 😊
I love your modern builds, especially Aussie builds. I'd love for there to be one or two older 'renovated' Aussie builds. Like a renovated QLDer, a stilt house or a house with the all round verandah.

I had to add a laundry basket and a bookcase. Otherwise, my game is running great with just this and rec center installed so far in Newcrest.
Rebuilding Newcrest is my favourite thing to do. I'm currently doing it for like the 4th or 5th time now 😂

My master bedroom is in front of my house and I don’t like it. So yea it’s annoying due to noise from traffic but one pro to it is the morning sunlight…it’s so nice
In terms of gameplay, it's often helpful to have the bedroom close to the front door as Sims come home from work and sometimes directly take a nap. Having the bedrooms on the first floor, adjacent to the living room and kitchen, and not too far from the front entrance is ideal, I think; especially if you're raising a moody kid.

I love this so much that I want to have it built irl to live in lol
Idea: You could build a community space - Ik it's a lot cause it's essentially 4 builds in one.
But there are ine 3 in Evergreen Harbour and there are 4 modes (if counting the "ugly" one) - so you can't have them all at the same time. Another thing is your sim must live there to be able to vote.
Also I think James would be very keen to help making the ugly trashy version. - which could be a really cool build with using other packs too! And you Deli would *absolutely shine* in making the nice modern eco versions of the 3 "pretty" types.
And not many people build this type of a lot - even though it can bring some eco lifestyle gameplay to an another world.
I got this Idea, cause I'm currently building one for my save - I want to explore "landfill lot" lot challenge a bit.
I grew up in the Northeast US but have a lot of family in the South. I've noticed its pretty common down there to have front bedrooms, I'm not sure why. Maybe it has to do with air flow and keeping rooms cool in the summer? Purely just a guess 😂 similar to how its more common to have screened in porches in the South vs NE (these are just generalizations based on my experience).

Any home in my renovation save that doesn't have sims in it, I've also been doing the show look. I feel it makes more sense for an empty home my sims might move into to have the necessities but no real personality so I can put theirs in! It's also way easier to make the houses look nice and run well in my game lol
