To be fair ive got a chris mapping it, a Chris funding it and another Chris buying my merch and being the no1 fan...so it may as well be 😁..my stick woth cinqueturbo for now though haha
I have got a completely stock Seicento Sporting and a somehow neglected 899 Cinquecento. I stumbled on your channel a while ago and after watching this video i realized that it was time to subscribe. The turbo tuning is informative but i am here mostly for the 899 Cinquecento. I have trouble finding new English speaking content about this model in TH-cam and i hope your videos will help me decide which path i should choose between moding my 899 or just restoring it.
Great to hear youre liking the 899 content...im hoping to show that the little pushrod engine is worth people doing something with. Ive already shown they can easily make near the same power as a sporting and ive found them to (so far) be bullet proof little engines. Lots more 899 stuff to come as I plan on it being a kind of resto mod project (leaning slightly more towards the modified side of things), restoring as i modify, but keeping it useable. Look out for a possible feature on a VERY interesting 899 soon too
Thanks 👍Lots more slug content coming soon (track day coming up this weekend 😁 ) and ill defintely start covering more on the 899 engine in coming months
My daughter sat with me, she's shouted at you for having my t-shirt on lol. You look way more chill and like your enjoying it again, good to see. And how many Chris' do you know 🤣🤣
Haha tell you daughter im sorry im wearing your shirt.. when my kids range comes out youll have to sort her own one out 😁 and yeah i was muchcmore relaxed this time and actually enjoyed the whole day
Sorry to geg in on an old post I know you've moved on with the trofeo. Could you tell me what mods the 899 had. You said about removing the air filter is that a pod filter or a free flow panel filter and any other mods you could mention would be great. Did you use sporting suspension with arb at the front. Sorry for all the questions. I went to a classic car meet close to me Sunday 7th August,an I'd like a cinq or sei. Had a mini as my first car which was hilarious and I just want no frills,I love momentum driving which is all you could do in the 998 but as the cinq has a 5 speed it's a little easier on the ears. Love your channel you should have more views. Keep up the good work, Cheers Steve.
Hey Steve..thanks for such nice feedback and don't worry at all about commenting on an old post. The best bit about "the Slug' my old 899 cinq was how simple the set up was. I modified the airbox to make it more free flowing by removing the cold start gunning from inside (with some holes drilled for that budget induction noise) then just a decent panel filter. It also had a very slightly bigger 34mm throttle body from a punto60 and a cheapo chopped together exhaust system (stock at the front, slightly bigger at thr rear) ...that's it for the engine other than a damn good service and quality plugs. Chassis wise yeah it was sporting shocks at front with lowering springs and a sporting arb (that was polybushed) and I had some old spax shocks (which i was given) and lowering springs on the rear...decent brake pads and "that's it" ...I ran it on uniroyal rainsports and it's still one of the most fun cars I've owned. Yes the suspension could have done with being a touch stiffer etc but for cheap thrills that took a hammering you just can't beat it👍👌👌
@@wornoutracing thanks for the info. Left me with more questions! The 1.1 sporting tb can't go on the 899 because of interference so you're saying the Punto 60 one will hmm. I need to get one don't I and answer the question myself I think. Probably a Sei as the Cinq's are so expensive now. Did you experiment with advance,2 degrees on a sporting can help with bolt on's if you don't change cam. I digress. Please buy a Sei an do an in-depth build,I can tell you miss "slug". As do we all 🤗👍🤘
Yeah the p60 tb is a straight swap. The 1.1 sporting tb is more than likely the same size as the 899 in truth I've never bothered checking. Cinquecento prices have definitely gone up..arguably a better car as far as rust, as seicento just seem to love rusting alot more due to the worser quality metals they used. I'd actually love to do a cool seicento build but yet to have a clean cheap one pop up (and it may never haha) .
@@wornoutracing i suppose all the niggley bits that keep needing to be done the redone etc after a time can wear on you. At least as you say, you will be driving this, more than working on it. Just uploaded a vid of my exhaust sound for my coupe if your interested at all.
What was the maximum power that has been recorded made by the Turbo so far? Before it started falling apart, or before it started squirting oil? 60-70ish HP at 4-5k rpm or something?
We didnt actually record any power levels for it..we were working through the whole fuel table to get the map set up correctly.. we were only just getting into positive boost when we ran into the oil leak/fuel flow issue.
Gonna have to call the car Chris at this rate. Financed/Built by chris’ everywhere! 😂

Great to see your pushing on with it and seeing the slug on the rollers! Looking forward to watching the track day video!
Thanks alot Jamil...i might even make it to the same track day as the Tyre R one day, but i think ill need to bring the turbo for that 😁
Man i would love to see more content about the slug and it's current mods. Glad to see how healthy slug is, and the good progress on the turbo cc.

Oh and no I've never done any tweaks with timing advance etc..always left it stock
Miss this thing man.
Crazy thing is I miss the slug (silver cinq) more than the turbo, purely because of the memories I have in it
@@wornoutracing fair enough man, it was like that with my first 20vt coupe, best memories.

@@wornoutracing bummer, really looking forward to the next ep, where hopefully you do some power pulls, even if not maxed perfect setup.
@@kovacspis yeah it's not far off now and I'll be back at HAD for another session...hopefully this time without issues and making some actual power
oh and side note, the slug sounds proper epic, I was surprised how good that sounds lol
The Slug Never disappoints haha for a drilled airbox and an exhaust i bodged together its not bad is it
Sounded awesome mate 👌
Im a 5 cylinder purist but it was a pretty good sounding little 4 pot to be fair
Seriously impressed with that 899 in the Slug! Not far off a standard sporting.
Chris H.A.D. is a top bloke 👍
I was genuinely shocked what power it made for an 899...i really dont think people give the 899 enough love..its got alot going for it
@@wornoutracing definitely. I was expecting it to be somewhere around the OE power! Maybe I'll get an 899 next and keep it 899.
@@duncanrose2663 id definitely approve of it man 😌
