    Hi Juna, I just bought the Affinity program. I have been watching their tutorials on how to use this. I watched for hours and was still just as confused as I was when the tutorial started. I watched part one and part two of your tutorials and I have to say...EXCELLENT INSTRUCTION! I learned more from you in these 2 videos then I did from watching them. I am getting ready to watch part 3. I was ready to hang it up and now I feel hopeful that I can learn this. You are a great teacher, great instructor!!Thank you so much!!!

    I just got Affinity Designer, and have been watching your videos. I am really a newbie, and I am so anxious to learn everything about Affinity. I am so impressed by it. I do KDP book covers, interiors, and I also do Tshirt Designs. I really need to learn Affinity. Most of the time I use Canva, but I think Affinity will take me to the next level. Thank you for your teaching videos. They are very helpful.

    I'm up for anything you want to show us on Affinity Designer. I'm self taught and have been working in Inkscape for maybe 8-10 years. Recently starting using Procreate but then found out about AD. Migrating to AD is quite overwhelming as there is so much MORE potential over Inkscape. Your Parts 1 and 2 videos were extremely helpful. I appreciate you taking time to make them and look forward to whatever you choose to share next.

    I love your teaching style! Your pace and clarity are excellent and you are so well spoken with no fillers or fluff. I like the way you are going tool by tool to explain everything. I’m coming over from photoshop and was feeling lost even though there are a lot of similarities in the two programs. Hoping I will see an upcoming video on masking or templates. I want to be able to bring in templates for sublimation items and be able to design here. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. 🙂

    I've never used the fill tool on Infinity, on this mode, I always switched to 'Pixel Persona' as I recognised the Paint Can Icon as the fill. I Had no clue that was a gradient tool! The ability to create a gradient stroke too. Brilliant!! This is by far my favourite tool for today's tutorial. someone mentions in comments about the creations of patterns, more importantly, for me is the saving & using the pattern file as a swatch. I end up going to Photopea where I am versed in how that operates. So would be a great tutorial to have, its more intermediate level than these basics I realise | Thanks Again Juna | Much Love, Peace & Respect

    Amazing, I got affinity when they started the 90 day trial to see if it was worth it and have been watching dozens of channels trying to learn as much as possible and in your two
    Videos already learned several things I didn’t know about.
    I watch everything you put out keep up the awesome work.
    Also once you cover the tools and things if you haven’t planned on it it would be great if you could work up a couple different types of designs to see your process using Affinity and see how the tools work in RL.

FYI - I was going to do the free trial first, but I contacted AD and I asked if in 90 days I would be able to purchase the software for the $24.99 discounted price, and that could not be guaranteed, so I bought it now; still a great price since it is not a monthly subscription fee.

    Would like to see you start from a picture of one of your drawings and work it into a final design- maybe in parts like making your own font and placing the words and another placing and coloring your drawing as using the tools is not always intuitive as to which ones how. I know what I want to do but not quite how. I’ve got my photo of my drawing but how do I crop out the part outside of the drawing? Simple but not intuitive for me. An artist working from his drawing tutorial which no one else seems to do. Creating a font from a drawing just for a specific design is another tutorial i would like to watch you do-maybe i just need to have a deeper look into your videos although I’ve watched most of them-I’ll look again. Thank you for all of your helpful tutorials👏🏻

As for what to do for a video I agree with one of the comments on how to set up templates for the different sizes required for most POD platforms. IF this is possible, can you show how to do it in AD? I will try the technique I learned in AI and see if it works in AD, first using the place command to import a photo then going from there. Thanks for this useful series. With regards to the fill tool, I’ve always avoided using color gradients for tshirt designs as I think I heard that they don’t print well onto garments. Is this true?

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Gradients can be tricky on print on demand. Sometimes they turn out great and other times not so great... I typically use solid colors. I think most people who come from a screen printing background will avoid gradients because it's tougher to do with a screen print. You will have do halftones and all that stuff. With print on demand you don't have to do anything special for gradients.

    With Affinity Photo's vector tools and ability to open and export vectors, does the average Joe or Jill really need Affinity Design? I bought both of them because they were 50% off, just in case I need the more advanced vector tools, but for basic vector stuff it seems like Photo might be enough. Also, you seemed to say 'I hardly use this tool" a lot!

    • @DetourShirts

    So maybe this is obvious but how do you reset the colors/swatches? After I apply a gradient with various color settings and want a new object that object aquires the same gradient as the first. The color panel still shows the donut and the foreground as when I edited the last object. Just want to reset for new objects.

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just pick different colors. If you want to change the fill and stroke after creating your first one the next shapes should be those colors. There may be a quick key to reset colors but I haven't used one.

      Sorry I don't have an discount code or affiliate code for Affinity. They don't do that. As far as sublimation I would imagine it does that but I don't do that kind of t-shirt stuff, I would check with T-Shirt Help Desk (TH-cam channel). They sell a universal license that you can put on mac and windows. affinity.serif.com/en-us/
