Look at the work done by Sir K K Muhammad at Bateswar temples in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh.
There were 200 temples flattened by mughals.
Those temples came up during GURJAR PRATIHARA RULE ( 8-11 century).
He stayed in that forest infested by dacoits.
He had to get permission from dacoits to renovate those temples and renovated more than 80 temples.
Its really a wonder.

The famous scholar Sri Adiyar from Tamilnadu says there were riots between Vishnavas & Shaivas in Tamilnadu n Mysore area killing, mutilating and demolishing each others worshipping dieties etc.
Do u know the first Masjid built india was Cheraman Masjid of Kodungallur, Kerala? Do u know how it was built? The goodhearted Hindus donated the windows, the prepared bricks etc for Temple construction donated to create/ construct the masjid in the 6.5 acre plot donated by king Cheraman. Even the craftsmen were Hindus. U see the "Mukappu" of old masjid and temple are same in kerala, because the hindu craftsmen do it out of devotion. That harmonious are Hindus & Muslims of Kerala even now. Sankis failed to create riots in Muslim populated Malappuram dist. by demolising dieties of certain temples attributing the crime on Muslims. Luckily all the culprits were sankis. Police officer said God saved Malappuram by catching the sanki culprits redhanded.

Shankaracharya spread hinduism because kings of the time after being buddhist stopped doing their duty as kings, He revived hinduism because at that time it was reduced to mere rituals which is not what any indian philosophy or religion like hinduism buddhism jainism and sikhism is about. I had been to Kutab minar site.
The police man standing there explained to me that Kutab Minar was a tower built for a Maha Rani for Sun Worship. I felt laughing as I found full of HQ verses inscribed on it. It is a minaret of the masjid found nearby( the relics). That sentry can misguide people like Adil Lathif, the "mandan" and not a well versed person like me.

Regarding temple parts found in masjid construction:
Chances are there the craftsmen were Hindus out of devotion they might have used temple parts as it is a worshipping place. They were unaware of Hindu or Islamic philosophies. As I said u can see the style of elevation of masjid n temple r same in kerala in olden days!
Now people like KKM can say even Cheraman .masjid was built after demolishing temple!
But study of history with logics/rational thinking only can prove the reality. Think how a team of 12 disciples of Prophet Muhammed can overpower the Hindu kingdom, demolish temple and construct a masjid using Temple parts !? The kings /king's representatives were so generous that they were given warm reception.

No Muslim King will destroy a temple, if he knew or studied Islam. Because HQ says not to destroy others' worshipping place; not even to abuse the dieties of others. It is an offense inviting punishment, and not reward from Allah. So who will dare to do such an act?

I will agree with KK if he say that Aurangazeb was illiterate. But he was a scholar and a pious Sufi saint like meek person. Under his rule India was richest according to Sasi Tarur. He is the only Emporer who never touched money from Public Treasury for his personal use. He earned money for his personal use by writing Caligraphy etc! He donated and issued Grants to a lot of temples. Such decrees of Aurangazeb r there in Allahabad court archives according to ex Orissa Governor Mr. B.N Pandey who have done excessive research on him. What we learn is distorted history.
