That ver is much better i dunno whar ver i downloaded its so confusing. To collect some stars you didnt know how much star left in one area. But in your game you can see the stars you collect in the specific area thats cool.
My Gamma64 version is 1.10, which may be outdated but I'm not sure really. I had to use the pause menu to check if i had any missing stars and then collected a few.
You mean like 3+5=8 stars to have Mario beat bowser in the dark green world in the middle of super Mario 64 in 1997 and 8+62=70 stars to have Mario beat rainbow bowser in the pink sky at the end of super Mario 64 in 1997 too?
