We have a sick Jersey lactating pregnant cow. been trying to figure out what it is for a few days. Low energy, barely eating. We gave her CMPk. She is standing and laying more than normal. Milk Bloat so we gave baking soda and water. She even vomited 2 days in a row. No bovine vet local. We are going to do all these tests now. Thank you for the informative video. Hopefully we can figure it out.
Well, the vulvar temperature is always lower than the rectal temperature! There have been scientific studies about that, and therefore the vulva is not the preferred location to take a temperature reading. In practice, that may not always make a difference, but it is not a standard textbook approach and should be discouraged!

Absolutely awesome. You are a great instructor. Thank you very much Doc
Very complete physical examination. Thanks for sharing!
Quality work. I'm just a hobby farmer with a couple head of beef cattle, but this was still very useful information.

interesting. Mind if I ask about your credentials? are you a large animal vet and where? Thanks
Yeah, as far as I know vulva's heat is 0,5 °C lower than the rectal temperature and it should be noted if we take the vulva's temperature
Cows cry when they're sad and stressed.
