I'm building up to doing more advanced stuff. I'm planning on being around for a while. I feel like I've done plenty of beginners stuff now (though I may return from time to time to do some or re-make some of the old poor quality ones) and in the next year I'll be working on Intermediate level songs in various styles (and accompanying books), the Transcribing Course and a Technique series I got in the planning, plus a Modes DVD. After that I'll be looking at advanced stuff.
I think I am just emerging from the beginners phase, but have found paying and singing this at the same time a bit of a challenge ( like you Justin I think the first verse will require some hours of work) loved your lesson, inspirational , as always.
i am gonna buy your songbook before Christmas . Thanks for all the help. i am 32 and teaching myself to play the guitar for my kids. you Are one of the best teachers out there on the net to offer all of this for free, here on youtube. Once again thanks and keep up the great work!! I am a beginner but i like to look ahead and see what you can do.
Simply the best guitar instructor online, with the best taste in music, and it's FREE! It is one thing to know how to play guitar (or any instrument) well, but QUITE another thing to be able to easily make people understand the information you are trying to impart. (Believe me, I've tied, and failed miserably.) Justin has a real knack for this. I'm homeless, and just one step above destitute, so I can't help much. But if you can support Justin's efforts, and all the WORK he's put into this, please... PLEASE... take one minute of your time to at least consider supporting his hard work. Okay, plea over. Go back to learning and having FUN.
Hi Justin, I want to say that I really enjoy your video's. You do an amazing job. There informative and you make things easy to fallow. I just started learning the guitar about 2 months ago and I learned a lot from you. This is my Daughter in laws favorite song and she asked me to play it. I never heard it so I thought I'll check and see if Justin has it. Sure enough here it is. After watching it I can do this. Thanks !!!
Such a lovely song! I had stop your lesson 30 seconds in to go an listen to it. And I seem to be getting the singing sort of nicely flow with the guitar.
Excellent tutorial; one of my favorite Beetles songs since I was little. I don't if you take suggestions, but a tutorial I would like to see would be "Stable Song" by Gregory Alan Isakov. I have only able to find one video that does a tutorial for it, but the instructor never explained the strumming pattern. I would be eternally grateful if you did a tutorial on the "Stable Song" Justin.
Thanks Justin. I worked this song out by ear and it turns out I was playing it correct! Although I think since it is Paul playing he is using his technique where he picks the bass notes with his thumb and strums with his index finger. You know, similar to Blackbird.
Great cover Justin! Man, my dad used to sing and play this song for me when I was a little kid. It's a lesser-known Beatles song (if there is such a thing), but it brings back great memories for me : )
Can you do a lesson on how to play Jeremy by Pearl Jam? Because I can't find a good lesson of that song anywhere. Anyhow your lessons are great, keep up the good work!
I grew up singing this song all the time with my mother...I'm just learning how to play so I'll save this for later, but I'm incredibly excited to leqrn this. Thank you.
Paul, John and Donovan wrote this on a roof in India. Here are some more infos on the 17 loops of the chord-progression: www.icce.rug.nl/~soundscapes/DATABASES/AWP/rr.shtml
Hi Alex! Great work supporting FE Brotha! Over the past 5 months i've been working hard on flat earth cover songs on my channel, hoping they give ya a laugh anyhow, haha. The Beatles, Steely Dan, Tupac, Tom Petty, Nirvana, Billy Joel, The Doors, Metallica, George Thorogood, Louis Armstrong, Waylon Jennings, Motley Crue, Garth Brooks, Dune, and Office Space are all Flat Earthers now! Hope ya enjoy 'em brother! :-) peAce -Zane
I actually prefer it at the faster tempo he plays in the intro. Song needs to be on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 soundtrack. Rocket’s name came from this song.
fun fact: Rocky isn't actually a raccoon. his NAME is just Rocky Raccoon. nowhere does it imply that he's an anthropomorphic raccoon. but we all like imagining him that way 😎 like it never says anywhere that Humpty Dumpty is an egg. artists just traditionally portrayed him like that.
I haven't heard this one before. Justin version is more upbeat than Beatles version that I just listened to. Beatles often learned towards the dreary side of life. I hated Michelle my Belle so don’t ever teach/cover that one Justin whatever you do or else will be all downhill from there!!!

Best teacher on the internet!

Great voice while playing this one, Justin!
Ahh a Beatles Song, must learn!
Ordered the new Songbook today. Loved the Beginners Book, it helped me a lot.

One of my favorite Beatles' songs of all time too!
Great lesson , I really appreciate how you dissect all the parts , thx
Justin is an AMAZING teacher.
Man, you teach so well, sing well and play well. Thanx for taking your time and help us out, really appreciate.
One of the finest folk-rock songs ever written, even if John didn't think so :)
You are awesome Justin! Thank you for all your videos

wow one of the best intros you've done awesome
Your voice is great mate!

That was a pretty bad ass cover at the start man
You pretty much taught me how to play guitar. Thanks loads you're alright for an Aussie! :D
Great lesson Tommy Shelby!!
Loved it! Thanks for great lessons
You often apologise for your singing, no need to do that on this song. It was very good. Love your lessons. Greetings from Norway:)

Fun stuff! Thanks. Will add to my song list.
Ouh, I love to see that this song gives you just as much joy as it does me :)

Great cover Justin! Man, my dad used to sing and play this song for me when I was a little kid. It's a lesser-known Beatles song (if there is such a thing), but it brings back great memories for me : )
Fun Song!! One of my favorite.. Thank you for the tutorial. You are awesome teacher

That and Blackbird are my favorite songs by The Beatles
what a catchy turn
I like to play blackbird then switch to this,it sounds great too!
Love the video, especially the intro :)
Great song !! Thank you muchly :-)
I love finger picking this song, you should give it a try
One word "Excellent: .
When are you going to do some advanced lessons, Justin? This is one of the first songs I ever learned, long ago in a galaxy far, far, away.
Still waiting for those singing lessons, Justin!
BTW, Justin, I would've taught this fingerpicking, doing McCartney's trademark thumb--forefinger strumming technique.
You look and sound like you had great fun with this lesson!
Thank you.
Hey Justin, did you ever figure out the rhythm/timing of the spoken first verse?
Your the man!
hes a nice teacher
Good Job! I´ll do the song at my next BBQ Campfire for sure
can you please do one on While My Guitar Gently Weeps by the Beatles?
Cool song :-)
Agree. I play it this way, too.
Almost said this was a shitty lesson cuz I only listened to you playing it at speed. But this is actually good I think. I'll let you know when finish
Can you do an update with the first verse singing?
My favorite Beatles song. Idk why.
Paul, John and Donovan wrote this on a roof in India. Here are some more infos on the 17 loops of the chord-progression: www.icce.rug.nl/~soundscapes/DATABASES/AWP/rr.shtml
thnx!
Aweeeesomee...!!
the beatles still rock!!!
Seen Billy strings cover this in march
ya talked me into it...
Hi Justin!Could you please teach us the song "Rhinestone Cowboy"in a version of Glen Campbell with all chords in original C-major key?Thks!
Can you do some more solos or melodies?
As I understand it the a minor 7 with the third finger lifted off (open d string) is the same as a d7sus4, isn't it?
Hi Alex! Great work supporting FE Brotha!

nice! sounded like paul for a second there...!

I actually prefer it at the faster tempo he plays in the intro.
Song needs to be on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 soundtrack. Rocket’s name came from this song.
Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, and Merle Travis please.
I used a BEATLE idea for the guitar part.
But it is the devil to sing and play at the same time.
"TIGER WOODS TIGER WOODS-2" It is a TH-cam video!
fun fact: Rocky isn't actually a raccoon. his NAME is just Rocky Raccoon. nowhere does it imply that he's an anthropomorphic raccoon.
but we all like imagining him that way 😎

There's an element of truth to that. Thing is, my ear has always been lousy when it comes to parsing very fast solos.
what´the chords ?
please ;)
How about some tool next?
hi
Don't watch with subtitles, you will die laughing *im the ghost
I've watched this and I still can't determine if my guitar is British.

more bass notes
The audio sounds weird in this one...
marty
look your face so fun LOL
brickblacktoe
Good....but the chorus needs to swing :)
At the beginning he plays/sings too fast
Then just play it more slowly. It's a lesson, not a performance.
That's forgivable
