    Nice to see your video of the Lynk & Co 01 developed by Cevt in Gothenburg. I read that a lot of former Saab people went Cevt after Saab's bankruptcy.

    We are not allowed in Europe to have tinted windows in the first half of the car. (Front window + passenger and driver window)

    I have one, great car, great electric autonomy for a PHEV but the software is super "buggy". I often get troubles connecting to Apple Car play and I get constant messages that my lights don't work while they do. It takes ages as well to get in touch with Lynk&Co to get an appointment to get the car fixed as well. I'm not sure I'll keep it. I heard that the full EV 01 should arrive in Europe in early 2024.

    While I’m opposed to a battery subscription model what Lynk has to offer feels more like a traditional auto lease. Bump up the miles per year to 10k-12k and I’d consider buying into this model.

    Kinda unreasonable.

    I had the Xc40 2019 for us$600 per month via care by Volvo 2 year subscription with option to upgrade every 12 months. Prices increased $100 within 1 year, but California BANNED it, so no upgrade, sent the car back after 2 years, now with a lease, but honestly I'm waiting for California dealers to release this again.

    • @cben86
      @cben86 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Why did CA ban it?

    • @Vamanos46
      @Vamanos46 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cben86 some combination of consumer unfriendly dealerships in California, lobbying by the dealership groups, state laws protecting the same groups stating doing so is illegal.
      Even if it was not illegal, the insurance company that cbv uses found some states like California too risky to insure anyway.

    It’s totally clear that a wide range of innovation is coming to the previously over the steel automobile industry. Innovations are occurring not just in car design but also with different acquisition scenarios, the $550 monthly rental being just one.

    Then they have made it work elsewhere, because it’s not working in Sweden. The drivers of Lync & Co have been forced to wait up til 3 month for a change between winter and summer tites or the other way around. And it’s not one or two drivers it’s multiple. Also it isn’t the tire companies that are doing something wrong. This have been lifted numerous times in car magazines and newspapers in Sweden.

    Are you absolutely sure it is not the same 3 cylinder engine and dual clutch gearbox as the PHEV XC40? Because it really sounds like it. If you accelerate as fast as possible in pure EV mode, do you get the drop in torque around 90km/h as it changes gear in EV only mode?

    Interesting first impression. I see this car a lot everyday on the streets of Munich. Yesterday I saw one on the parking lot of my company next to my ID3. Funny to see you driving around where I am living. P.S: I always thought it is fully electric but now I know it is a PHEV.

    It’s a good thing you have your personal assistance with you 😂 I love my Tuscan hybrid SEL though I’d wish it was a plug in hybrid. 90% of the time I drive it in cruise control set at under the speed limit so every time I take my foot off the gas it’s throwing juice into the battery. The car is rated at 37mpg but I’ve had it as high as 43.5mpg using real numbers. Right now with the AC blaring I’m at 39.9. I totally recommend that if you can’t find an electric car to get a hybrid it’s so worth the savings in gas.

    even though they probably won’t make money at $550 per month rental, if you look at it from the standpoint of advertising, it’s a great way to get people to know your cars without spending a lot of money. Unless you get passengers and drivers in the seats, the sales will never happen. The several hundred million or so it’s a major auto manufacturers spend is a very ineffective use of those dollars cents who really pays attention to car ads?

    24:50 I didn’t know people drove like that… interesting. Typically, I want both my arms clear of any cabin elements should I need to perform defen/evasive actions and wider turns. For me, arm rests are just there to rest my non-driving arm on longer trips.

    • @Byjhbkbhjk
      @Byjhbkbhjk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Uh, he explained it in the video: subscription includes insurance (leases don’t); loan it out and the miles don’t count on your subscription (doesn’t work that way on a lease); if you get in an accident you pay the deductible and can give the car back and get another…seems like a great model.

    Kyle, your concerns about the seating position and the center console arm rest speak MASSIVE VOLUMES about the whole "no dealership" model with the new EV brands and such. Perhaps not such an issue if you're in a "try it and bail out of it" subscription model, but if you're spending over $50,000 for a vehicle you will have absolutely no ability to test drive before you buy it.... There is just NO WAY IN YOU KNOW WHERE that I will buy a car that I can't confirm that THE ACTUAL VEHICLE I'M BUYING WILL FIT MY DRIVING POSITION. Nothing -- absolutely nothing else, whatsoever -- is more important to me. Oh, with some amount of hassle, you might be able to find one to drive, but look at Tesla these days -- will you get one build in Fremont? Austin? Berlin? Shanghai? Tesla is making some significant changes between different factories, and even within the same factories. "$75,000 for a vehicle where you don't know what you're going to get?" I probably won't be able to do that, period.
    Yeah, the same kind of thing is now going for a lot of different vehicles these days, and there's some sense that you might have some kind of "return it within 7 days" in some situations, but when you're dealing with trade-ins and such, I'm no more comfortable with that than just getting whatever the heck they dump off the back of a truck. Crazy times, unless you just don't give a damn.
