The illusion of two notes being played by the guitarist is actually two guitars. Syn and Zacky play as one ... after 20 yrs playing together, you can't get better than their duels.

8:39 glad you mentioned the ride bell work in this song. In the original recording Mike Portnoy said he was heavily influenced by Neil Peart of Rush and added that part because of Neil. Really makes the song in my opinion as far as the drums go, and makes it almost a double homage to two legendary drummers. Great reaction!

Title track to the 2010 5th album, the first released after the death of original drummer Jimmy 'The Rev" Sullivan. The Rev wrote a lot of this album, he and lead singer M. Shadows wrote this song. Drums for the album were recorded by Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater). Current drummer ,Brooks Wackerman, is in this live video. One of my favorite A7X sons, and definitely fitting for the season. 🎃
Fun fact, lead guitarist Synyster Gates( Brian Haner Jr), his dad , Brian Sr. a.k.a. Papa Gates, is 'Guitar guy' that worked with comedian Jeff Dunham.

That’s a great fact Chris. I didn’t know that one for sure. Man you know a lot. You remind me of my college roommate. We would sit and listen to music for hours and he always had some background info on whoever we were listening too. I just enjoyed the tunes.

Quick thing that needs to be mentioned. The singer (M. Shadows) was struggling with some major voice problems for years. This was recorded in the middle of that. His voice here is not nearly his best. He is much better today that at this time. You should check out some of Avengeds older music to get a real taste of what he can do!

Great reaction! You should check out one of their Live in the LBC performances from their live dvd. Mix is way better and here the singers voice was going through some issues so he’s not up to his usual potential. Any song from the concert is great but maybe start with Critical Acclaim!

@dixiefletcher1539 you should really check out Roman Sky at the Grammies. It's a song about a pope that kept a astrologer in a dungeon for seven years then burned him upside down for believing there other planets in the heavens. It was In the 1500s I believe. It's a very beautiful song. Nothing like this song. 😊😊😊
