I’m normally not into the various dbz fan mangas out there.. I only got so much free time in my life. But this is an incredibly entertaining story and very well put together. I’m definitely a fan
The stories are so sad but so full of hope and hope the world needs for improvement and peace urgently. As already written a great job to you dear Mondo Cool and to your team and to the creator of the Fanmade Mangas. I already thanked you but thanks again for these great 11 episodes. It's been a long time since I read a Dragon Ball manga and I feel the same excitement as I did when I read it 25 years ago. No one has ever done that. I think I can say that we are all fascinated by DB New Hope who have seen all the episodes of the fanmade manga on your channel. I've seen a lot of good youtubers but I really haven't had this kind of excitement in a long time and I'm not a poadcast fan but you could listen to this for hours. I would love to read it myself but it's great that way too.👍👏🤝

After failing to destroy Android 18 before Cell could absorb her, after being the only Z-fighter who survived at the Cell Games, Krillin surpassed Goku, Gohan, Goten, and even Cell himself, finally defeating the bio-android at the cost of his life, freeing the universe from his virgular plot and entrusting the future to Goten. Thank you, Krillin for all that you gave, the earth will miss you.

I’ve never seen a DB fan manga give one of the human Z fighters as much shine as this and seeing it here is amazing. Krillin went out like a legend and I’m glad he got such a badass way to go out and such an awesome win against Cell.

If you want another DBZ fan-manga that gives the human fighters more shine than I'd recommend DBZ: Elsewhere by RMK. It's a fan-manga about Yamcha that gives him a very compelling redemption arc where he proves his worth as a fighter and person. The story also utilizes the Kaioken technique like in this story. I think Mondo actually has a couple of really old videos covering the first couple chapters.

Damn this chapter actually hit me in the feels. Krillin gets all the respect. I actually don’t mind that Goten was beaten and I look forwards to see how he tackles Krillin’s death. Also damn I feel terrible for future Bulma like hot damn she must be miserable for those years Future Trunks was dead having no ideas wth happened.
He probably will go to the future somehow and beat the shit out of Future Cell both for revenge and to honor Trunk's sacrifice if he gets told more about it.

Future Bulma said that Cell might have absorbed 17 and 18. But future cell doesn't have instant transmission. So he is stuck on the Earth. It would be cool if she wishes trunks back and porunga is like, your son is dead. So she wishes him back to life, and brings him to New Namek.
Also, I'm looking forward to see what Goku, vegeta, Gohan and piccolo have gotten themselves into.
From the story to the art this feels like the most cohesive Dragonball fan manga I've ever seen. As much as I want part after part to come out sooner rather than later, it's worth the wait for it's quality.

This ending to a beginning of a new story is amazing. This wasn't long like other dragon ball stories that lose their beauty over time, but it was small and great. Plus, an utterly great continuation of the original story, I honestly feel sad for Krillin, but it was a heroic sacrifice indeed
Edit: I also forgot. Mondo Cool's ability to make a story so engaging while also allowing us to feel the characters' emotions is something I haven't seen on TH-cam. I hope that one day the fan manga community expands beyond Dragon Ball and that we can see these amazing stories told by the amazing Mondo Cool.

Gonna be honest, Krillin giving his life to end Cell brought a tear to my eye. The writers of this project deserve a goddamn beer or two.

@@freerider_piccolo Well, if we go by Z canon alone, there's still Majin Buu to deal with. It's likely Babidi is biding his time since Earth has so little power to give (till now), and we'll likely see an arc of the future timeline *without any Z fighters*. That'll be interesting.
@@Dimumouto I can’t say if Goten would be able to defeat Dabura, seeing as he still wasn’t quite as strong as Gohan against cell, but surely he would be smart enough to figure to simply destroy Buu in the cocoon before anything else, so I can’t see much of a story there; it’d likely be a repeat of Future Trunks preventing Buu in canon. As for the other thing, that WOULD be interesting in a different story. The main thing is, New Hope has accomplished it’s goal: pit Goten and Krillin against cell once and for all and it did so beautifully. It ended with great catharsis and I feel it’s kinda weird seeing it continue as the same “New Hope”. Of course I’m still going to watch Mondo cover it :P, but still it leaves me conflicted. Actually, where can I read it?

Honestly though, It genuinely is phenomenal along with the multiverse tournament. Kinda bugs me when I see the whole "Ultra Vegito xxx" fans completely passing over stories like this claiming that to be the best ever when in reality it's just "hype" and nothing more that started with a great story idea.
@@arf6084 Agreed. Not sure if it was intentional, but the part of Krillin breaking his limits at the end where he and Roshi both were commenting they could go no further was good writing. No monlogue of breaking limits or anything, just let actions speak louder then words. I do wonder though, if Akira and co landed on opposite day and gave this manga a green light of a movie or mini series it do well.

Honestly the way Cell went out was actually truly perfect, the supposed perfect fighter was defeated by none other than Krillin, who, if you exclude Yamcha and Chiaotzu from the equation, is considered by most to be the weakest and most “imperfect” of the Z Fighters, in a way, Cell’s end was a perfect irony towards his very existence itself.
Krillin not only got the respect that DB never truly gave him (aside from banging an android), but also got to become a true hero in the end, and has left as big an imprint if not bigger on everyone on Earth as Goku had in his time, even leaving behind Goten as the next generation’s Goku and the possibility for brand new heroes to become the next generation’s Z Fighters (plus if New Hope does continue, it’ll likely move onto Majin Buu naturally or something inbetween).
This was truly an emotional and touching finish to the story of a tyrant created by a supergenius (who is actually in a way the true villain behind it all, as he’s responsible for everything that’s happened up until this point) made with the cells of every powerful being from both earth and the universe itself at that time.

I truly think that Dragon Ball New Hope is one of the best fan mangas ever made, truly the way this story is made, seeing how a character like Krillin has to take the role of earth's defender and train a new generation in Goten. And now, seeing it all end, with Krillin finally defeating Cell, while giving his life in the act, truly made me tear up and smile. The sweet irony. Krillin was begging to die and cell left him alive with instant transmission in the first chapter and in the final he took him down with no miracle but sheer hardwork and skill. THAT IS CHARACTER GROWTH right there.
Dragon Ball New Hope has got to be one of my favorite fan manga's. The writing is surprisingly creative and consistently interesting. For instance, asking Shenron to temporarily conceal all Ki in the universe so Cell would have nothing to lock onto, is such a creative and brilliant idea to solve the Instant Transmission problem. It gets around the Dragon Ball's limitation of affecting things stronger than its creator by instead removing a key element that makes the technique work.
And it also goes to show you how smart Krillin is in this manga, making sure NOT to use the Kaio Ken until after the dragon is summoned, and the wish is stated, so Cell won’t try and escape to early.
This is one of the best fan mangas I’ve ever seen, i got so emotional at the last attack.krillin getting the win was so good after all the struggle and survivor’s guilt he went through being spared by cell for being weak and he ended up being the one to defeat him That was some great irony. Went out like a G . Hope future trunks gets resurrected to go back to his timeline and deal with cell. Bulma’s probably gonna wish for the z fighters to come back on new namek so either way the Earth’s probably gonna be protected.

This has been an amazing story, but I can't shake the disappointment I feel towards everyone that fell at the Cell Games for refusing to be brought back afterwards, and just admitting defeat and letting Cell run free to torment the Universe. It's just so shockingly out of character for them, especially considering how some of them more than likely could've stopped him with relative ease following the time skip.
Not to mention the majin buu arc wasn't mentioned at all within that time skip period too
In the original manga :
- Future Trunks gave up against perfect Cell after realizing his bulky form was useless. He even told Cell « kill me »
- Vegeta gave up when he apologizes to Gohan calling himself a burden. Gohan even noticed that Vegeta apologizing to him means this is the end.
- Gohan gave up and also told Cell « kill me » before Goku start motivating him from the otherworld.
@@bockman55 In future Trunks timeline (DB super) Babidi and Dabura appears at least 20 years later compared to the original timeline. In Super, Trunks ssj2 killed Dabura with the help of khaioshin dying in the process.

You portrayed Krillin as a symbol of humanity and made him the hero of the story, unlike the repetitive endings of Dragon Ball, which always end with the victory of Goku's family or Goku himself.

Was waiting for this manga to move forward and now I am late to watch this. Krillin deserves the glory that he finally got. I always knew this manga has huge potential but that was unexpectedly cinematic. Looking forward to see how Goten deals with this loss also Majin Buu on the horizon, Goku and other's adventures in the otherworld, New Namek in the future timeline. Age 798 is almost 10 years past GT, let's see what it brings. Can't wait for the next one.

now we have some stuff going on beside Cell, whatever evil the gang are fghting in the after life, the insane powers of the rest of them on king kai's planet (including Krillin) should be touched some more, future Bulma's adventures and possiblity of present Bulma fixing the time machine to send Goten back to Trunks' timeline to help etc...

this......was absolutely incredible, I literally was choking up watching Krillin unlock the achievements and be the hero we all deserved! This is what i've always wanted, krillin is my favourite character and I just wanted something like this for him so damn badly but could never have it! This was a masterpiece and the entire dragonball franchise is not even remotely as good as this! Truely a master piece! Thank you so much for creating this it means so much to me ! Krillin the Greatest Warrior that earth has ever seen!
Shin Kikohou, the Kikohou stacked on top of the Kaiou-ken... I knew the move was coming when he did the hand placement with the forefingers stuck forward. I was like "That's totally Tenshinhan's move! He's helping from beyond the grave!". And of course, I was right... But a shame that Tenshinhan could do just that to hold someone stronger than him for multiple attacks and live, while Krillin couldn't keep himself afloat after one blast...
For some reason, Krillin's current fan-fic death was more sad than any other death in the franchise - though it's a personal opinion... I think it might be because there was no revenge battle afterwards like with everyone else who died... Goku killing Cymbal or Freeza after Krillin was killed. Vegeta attacking Cell after Trunks died. Gohan killing Cell after Goku was blown up. Goku avenging his friends after Napa got rid of them... It was just... A double-KO, a self-sacrifice... A solemn victory. The music change from heroic to a tune that might often be shown as remembrance to past hero after seeing Krillin having his new move backfire and obliterate him gave a sad vibe even before the next track kicked in.
But of course, the scene after that just shows it like Krillin never had any issues in his life, leisurely strolling around and making death seem like it means literally nothing - so that takes away from it. But with Goten's initial reaction, it seemed like the saddest of deaths in the franchise to me. Canon or not.
As a guy who has Krillin as his favorite in Dragon Ball, I loved every bit of this!

We've seen this before. it'a a reference from the manga where Goku mastered Super Saiyan blue and the aura was in his body in order to maintain his stamina and fight at his fullest against Zamasu.
This was a damn good series krillin coming in clutch and Goten showing incredible power but still learning from his mistakes is character development that is much needed in the dragon ball series imo

It's been 7 years for trunks but for future bulma it's been 14 years I feel so sad for her😭😭😭
This What If is hands down my favorite ongoing story. Can't wait for the next parts.
I used to think of Krillin like everyone else did. But this story made me see him in what would actually happen if he was on his own. I even cried and my body was shaking when he passed. Long live the goat.

I really don't follow to much fan manga of dragon ball. But since the first chapter of this masterpiece I was hooked, the art and story are truly amazing.

time is 02:17 midnight i started the episode before going to sleep i had to stand up and come here to write this : GOOSEBUMPS krillin is my fav character and this manga realy did a number on him im completely done and satisfied with this loved the references and everything else from the writting to the art style atc as cell would say its perfect BUT WAIT IT HAS MORE OOOOOOWOOOOOO LETS GO~

I've read a couple dbz fan Mangas and none have put me on an emotional roller-coaster like this one. It gave goten and Krillin the attention they both deserve. I can't articulate how great this whole story was so as someone who was a dbz fan for over 20 years...Thank you.
This was SO worth the wait, this story was beyond incredible! This was the badass spotlight that Krillin deserved. The ending definitely shocked me and I'm glad that it ended that way. It always irritated me how in the original story, Future Trunks either forgot or just never bothered to mention New Namek to Bulma when he went back to his timeline. Future Trunks was there at Kami's Lookout when Goku brought up New Namek and went there to get Dende so it's not like he didn't know about it.
I wish Goten was this cool in the shows and manga.

Me too. It still feels bittersweet, yeah Krillin got a W and Goten has to step up but he's gone now. I would have liked to see Krillin continue to break his limits like before, but I suppose him staying around wouldn't let Goten to grow to his full potential so its a pro and con.
This is probably the best fan story I've ever heard. This is what I want in DBZ movie. Excellent 👍👌

The character development, the art, the story, it's all amazing. DB New Hope has gotta be up there with kakumei in terms of phenomenal fan manga

I had been waiting for this to come out for so long. Now, i am glad it finally happened, but dear Kami that was tough to watch... From Goten's mortal wound to seeing Krillin fight Cell to that ending scene. It was all just so much. I wont lie. The Krillin scene where he blasted Cell with the Shin Kikoho had me scared he did it for nothing, but I guess I was wrong. However... that final bit for Krillin, through that entire thing, had me tearing up when I saw him giving it everything he had, and then giving up his life to finish things off here. Truly, he was the best hero the Earth had ever known. Great video, great VA work, and major kudos to the author of these comics. Keep up the good work.
