    • @TrisaPradnja
      @TrisaPradnja ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@hb1949 We will never know the intention for the recording. Who knows if the mother is just like your usual nowadays mothers out there who like to take a video of their kids helping in kitchen and upload it on social media with caption like "my kid helped me with dinner" or something but suddenly her kid told her his problem? But then, who knows if she really scripted this conversation? All i can say, take what can be learned, leave what is unnecessary. After all, if we can learn something from that, it is not a bad thing, at least in my opinion.

    The scary thing about bullying is the possible collateral damage it can cause. There's no system to help the victims. One of the worst things that can happen is that the bully comes from a rich family and they get away scot-free. Another bad thing is when the principal downplays the severity of the bullying, saying "They're just kids!!", even though the injuries are obvious. This is what happens in 'all of us are dead', the virus was created by a teacher whose son was bullied, and the principal was like "Come on, they're just kids playing". When the teacher refused to accept that choice, the principal threatened to fire him

    • @ValerioRhys
      @ValerioRhys ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Otherwise known as "life is unfair and that people will be treated based on their wealth and background" every child needs to learn this.

    • @lagopusvulpuz1571
      @lagopusvulpuz1571 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Adults that said "they are just kids" never went through bullying. Kids unlike adults don't have boundaries & don't think about things before doing them, this can end up in serious fights. Sometimes these fights end up in the hospital.

      Yeah I agree, I don't like that the mother was teaching her son that, that's not a way to treat bullying at all, bullying is NOT to be taken light hearted at all

    • @sczdnb5507
      @sczdnb5507 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@joshuabuchanan1141 you don't know if the mother went to the principal to talk about the problem. Neither if she went to talk to the parents. This doesn't look like a kid being bullyed every single day but like one who received one bad comment once. And I was bullied one year but it is more important to know how not to be reached by the bad words. The bully attacks the person they know is the weakest (maybe just because is the kindest). If I were the mother, and there was a kid who bullies my son, I would go to the school to talk to the teacher and to the parents. But if it didn't work, I would go to pay another big kid to keep my son safe from the other (so things would still be between kids).

      True, even if they start using violence, "leave things as they are"f course not, if someone just comes at you for trouble, defending yourself is never bad. Some people said it was a mistranslation, and it were just bad comments, ok if they stop later it just fine to keep on and forget, but, if it turns to a daily basis, react! Change your kid's kindergarten, if others are just to far away to put your children, analysi the situation because he is too young to suffer it, the mental damage for his adulthood Iwill make the changing and iworth it.

    Idk, but ignoring it is often the worst way to deal with bullies. Bullies tend to pick on kids who don't know how to retaliate, and they will continue to torment their victims for as long their victim doesnt do a thing. If it's just a one-time bullying, it would not affect the victim's self-esteem and mental health, but imagine the bullying continues for months or even years

      Personally, I think that she’s not just teaching the kid to forget about the bully but to ignore the bully. Most of the time, bullies like the satisfaction of making someone else upset or scared. I think that I’f this child is able to be mature enough and ignore and show no care towards what bullies say, he most likely won’t get picked on.

      If I'm the bully, I don't want to be ignored, it's embarassing and unsatisfying. I put some effort to bully you, and you just ignore it like nothing?

      @@nadiamoosa3654 Excellent point ! Very few times I had to deal with bullies, but in every instance I astonished them frozen with wits that paralysed them on the spot. Wisdom is a powerful Secret weapon. The element of surprise to take them Off-guard., in gesture or in words. Throw a giant mirror to their face. That is the way the Empire of Lies (US of BS) Amuricans will have to deal with facts of hard reality, sooner or later but not too late! Timing is everything.

      I think she is just referring to verbal bullying which can be ignored in most cases. But you're right about retaliating if its physical bullying.

      I think she wasn't trying to teach her son how to deal with bullies. She was teaching him how to deal with destructive criticism. Imo, they are different. If your friend says that he doesn't like vanilla ice cream (And you do), then your friend is not bullying you. Now, if your friend says that he doesn't like vanilla ice cream and proceeds to throw your ice cream away, then that would be bullying. I mean, we all have likes and dislikes, so having a different take on things is not bullying, but talking trash is. That's just my opinion. 😊

    when i was in the nursery, about 3-4 years old at that time, my fellow classmates would jeer at me and mock me because of my name ( it sounded similar to a foreign food0 i would cry and eventually, before i was in the kindergarten, I requested my parents to change my name to avoid getting mocked again.
    my mother refused to, as my name was meaningful ( ' The loveliest of all the children' it meant that in my native language)
    and it took a long time for them to think of that name.
    I, on the other hand, fearing the mocks of my classmates , pleaded them again and again until my they finally agreed to
    my new name meant" the sweetest child to ever been born"
    my mother told me this while giving me my new name;" Dont listen to the people bullying you for your name, if you ever come across such a person, think, how much of a sense do their name makes? who are they to mock your name that has been gifted to you? can they even live up to their names? the people who mock you like before are just jealous of your beautiful name, ignore them, sweetheart"
    those words live in my heart even now, yes i have experienced some mockery even after my name was changed but i have faced them bravely.
    This is really out of topic but i was reminded of the incident from this video

    Dans les années 80, dans mon école située dans un quartier populaire il n'y avait pas d' harcèlement. Quand ce genre de chose arrivait, on se donnait rendez-vous après l'école pour se bagarrer. Après ça tout le monde devenait amis. C'est plutôt à la mère de l'enfant qui a fait la remarque désobligeante de réagir. Il ne faut pas inverser. C'est toujours à la victime qu'on fait la morale. Cela doit être l'inverse. Il ne faut jamais se laisser faire, agir tout de suite sinon le harcelement continue.

      Il y a du harcèlement partout (et de tout temps). Après je suis d'accord que c'est aux coupables qu'il faut faire la morale, pas aux victimes et surtout agir pour que ça s'arrête. Dans ce cas précis, on ne sait pas si c'est du harcèlement (récurrent), le petit a reçu une remarque négative sur son dessin, la maman lui apprend simplement à ne pas prendre les opinions négatives à coeur.
