The best part is hearing your unique spin on how others have sung that song in the past. My favorite ballad is Loreena McKinnet's upbeat rendition to 'Star of the County Down' Folk songs are a window into the life and times of past cultures, stories about what they experienced or fantasized about. I wonder sometimes which modern music will be deemed 'folk songs' in the far future.... is it even culturally possible for new ballads to appear in the modern globalized world or is pop music destined to just rise and fall endlessly before songs are forgotten? I guess we'll know that answer in 100 years, which 'classics' become 'folk songs'. I hope you have been well, madam. I know the weather was difficult last year in your locale, but hopefully this summer has been more manageable for your health and work. I just took a new waitressing job outside the city. I have just filmed a video among sunflowers that will share soon :). This one is a bit similar to "everflowing carity) just earlier this year, just a simple video to showcase the instruments but I was happy to show my guitar which rarely makes it to be visible.
