Building an E46 M3 wagon is far more complicated than previously thought. Do we recommend you try?

Beautiful!! I have a 2000 323i touring automatic. This is my dream build! to M3 swap it with manual tranny. I’m going to keep following this build! Good luck 👍

Where did you find the engine? Online or at a salvage?

Any progress or updates to this build? More videos please on this one :) I have a 2003 Touring and an 03 M3 Donor ready to go. Just finalizing a few things with the shop.

The bondo from the previous owner is a little disturbing

Little too complicated for my taste! You know far more than me.

I have a supercharged E36 track car, and a e91. I really should just sell both of them and get a E46 M3 wagon, right?

Sounds like you have a great set of bmws. It’s always better to have a dedicated build and a daily, like you have now! But at the same time, this s54 is worth every penny.

The only thing I have remaining on my CSL based e46 M# touring is the rear fenders (I finished the rear bumper). I havent cut the fenders out yet - do you have any reference links to see how you approached with the body? Seems like there are a few approaches to where you cut. I would appreciate anything you have to share. I started my touring many years ago and while not difficult, its just time consuming. Subscribed as well

The body for me was left alone except rolling the rear fenders.

Yes you should! If your capable it’s a great project.

How much labor time would you say you spent on just swapping the mechanical and interior components, as in without including any exterior body/paint work labor? We're looking to build a narrow body with the oem zhp exterior trim, without doing any other exterior body panel swaps or modifications like the rear fenders. Full e46 M3 inside and underneath, with an oem e46 zhp appearance on the outside. Thanks!

Just the m3 powertrain swap? I should have documented it. It took me a solid 3 weeks to do it. I’d say around 30-40 hours a week.

@@TenzaMotorsports yeah, just the mechanical and interior swap is what I was getting at. About to dive into a narrow body swap with zhp bumpers and a full M3 interior. Don't have any desire to deal with the hood/front and rear fenders, want more of a sleeper.

What is a first mod I should get for a 2002 bmw 330ci
I also need a new hood but idk if I should get a stock hood or go for a vented hood

Cheapest/free thing to do, strip it. Lose 500+lbs. Instant speed and handling increase. Not good for daily drivers though.

I’ve been stripping out a donor M3 in my garage and it’s a shit ton of work! And haven’t gotten any where near taking out all the wagons parts. Been watching your videos for information for a few months now

@@TenzaMotorsports I have a unique situation in that my car is originally a 5 speed, so it changes some of the details a bit compared to most people who swap them.

@@tommytenzomine is a five speed aswell and ive been thinking of doing that in the future, is there anything else than just swapping transmissions?

    • @tommytenzo
      @tommytenzo ปีที่แล้ว

@@Falco_e46 Barely seeing this. I think its very important to have the donor car. Every now and then I need to take or replace things with the spare donor parts.
