Waterford through the Ages (Extended Version)

Before and after images of Waterford ranging from 1880 to present day. I found the old images scattered around the internet, and facebook. Some of the angles for the new shots I took from Google Earth, whilst others I had to replicate myself with my camera - as the Google Earth angle's or depth weren't correct.

My great uncle had the pub in ballybricken in the 70s 80s it was called the bullpost his name is Joseph Evens.

I remember how over awed at my first views of Waterford City. It seemed huge to me. It was then the fourth largest city, coming after Dublin, Belfast, And Cork. Since then it has been overtaken, but it will never lose the title of the first town in ireland. Abu Portlairge.🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

You show a picture of Barronstrand Street with Cody's shoe shop on the corner. In my time (mid 50's), Chambers & Halley had their offices above Cody's. I did my apprentice years there (Accounting) and one day with some fool acting going on, I went partially through the 2nd floor window. The street outside was littered with glass. No injuries to anyone fortunately. When Eddie Halley came in the next morning, he had some choice words to say about it:).
