Good instructional video I have the same problem on the wife's car I'm thinking it might be quicker to swap the whole unit over . the mk3 golf central locking worked off air lol , with a simple switch in the body for the interior light .
To be honest i usually just change the whole latch as they go wrong all the time on all vag vehicles .once they start misbehaving - replace before they get stuck in deadlock or lock your keys in the car. Theyre so common failure you get get pattern ones now for a fraction of the price vw want.
Yeah I think I did say that this is only a temporary fix and the latch will need replacing but if I can get through winter without having to replace it then that’s a win haha
Good mornong, did you seal the door panel properly with extra silicon at the lower part? The factory seals are not safety after remount, when you opened it. On a Passat we had very much water indoor because as we didn't extra seal the panel😳 kind regards

Sometimes you get a continuity reading with unit off vehicle but once fitted & load introduced the circuit wont work due to poor connections
I wasn’t getting any reading through the unit. I should have tested it first, it may not have been the pin switch after all
