Arknights world writers writing an entire new universe with thousands of years of history only to just burn it all up in conflict my beloved
Even as someone who has been playing since day one, actively read all the events, and quite a few of the character bios and voice lines, I still feel like there is much about the world of Arknights I don't know. The devs put more effort into each region of the world and the characters that live there, than most games have in their entire setting. There's so many things that make Arknights special, but I feel the world building is what truly makes it stand out among its competitors.

Arknights feels like Tolkiens Stories!
There is just so immensely much to tell!
Lord of the rings were some of the longest movies and biggest books you've ever seen!
But the entire Trilogy is barely 5% of the entire Lore in Tolkiens world!
Same goes to Arknights!
Everything we've seen up to this point is (probably) not even 1/4 of everything that we will still see!

@CamelliaFlingert they have one for the ebenholz event. But I can't find anymore. I could just be blind. I'm mainly remarking on the fact they are starting to do it more often

~~~Lil summary of vid and past related side stories~~~
2nd sibling first talks some basic Yan history (Yan was established by emperor Yan. he died early, causing the tribes in Yan to go to war. these wars were manipulated by the kinds of Sui so these "gods" basically chose who got to be emperor. Until True Lung was chosen and he used the traditional god-celebrating festival to disguise an attack, starting a hunt against the "Gods". Sui found this interesting so he betrayed the other "gods" and fought with Yan trying to dominate Yan as its own. After winning (the other "gods" half dead half banished) Yan betrays Sui, breaking it into 12 pieces (the nian siblings)
then 2nd sibling goes on to criticise his younger siblings. as we know the nian siblings woke up after some time with long life, strong powers but no purpose in this world. they also each face the threat of Sui waking up (which would make them inexistant.) for this reason they have each been trying to answer "who am I": Am I me, am I Sui, am I a part of Sui? the siblings each take up some hobbies from the humans to find some meaning as well. (forgery for nian, painting for Dusk, poetry for Ling) Finally, Nian takes the active approach and is trying to gather all the siblings to figure out how to stop Sui. Dusk is an escapist who has been hiding in her painting until Nian and the crew showed up. Ling has come to acceptance and is fine with whatever happens.
2nd sibling's stand is that all of that's useless until they can guarantee Sui wont wake up. this is probably because of the death of the a sister, although we still don't know the details. 2nd sibling is acting on extremes, he has divided himself as 180 pieces, like the pieces of WeiQi. the cup in "invitation to wine" was one of them. Each piece holds some of his power and will play a part in his (yet unknown) plan. Then he ends by saying situation's bad but he can turn the tide.

0:24 "Yan is chosen for the name of this plot of earth" is actually "Yan named this plot of earth (after himself)"
0:34 "demise of Yan" here Yan refers to the Yan Emperor. After this point Yan refers to the country.
1:16 "man determines his fate" 人定胜天 is a popular saying directly translating to "man will win against the sky" (Sky referring to fate, gods, that general sort.) Here the saying refers to how TrueLung wont accept being manipulated by the likes of Sui.
3:16 "dwelling in the shadow of a tomb, prepared to swallow its humiliation" is actually 2nd sibling being sarcastic saying "the tomb is dark, perfect for swallowing humiliation"
3:36 "my siblings" is actually "my younger siblings", ChongYue not included. Probably because Chongyue already has the answer to "who am I." also fun fact, the siblings aren't ranked by age (they were born exactly same time) but in the order of finding their own identity.
4:16 "even when facing endgame, I still possess the means to turn the tide" has omitted 以身铸子 which literally means "making pieces with my flesh" so the line is actually "even when facing endgame, by using myself as pieces, I still possess the means to turn the tide"

You are a god and I appreciate you. As an Arknights lore enthusiast, I barely understood half of this video.
My English isn't good enough to be a translator, therefore I won't comment on the translation's quality, however there are some interesting details missing:
1. 2:43 The original text is actually "The kin left wounds that will not heal on Sui and abandon it", I understand why they changed the meaning because it has relevance to the plot of this event.
2. 3:14 The 2nd brother was trying to be sarcastic by saying "Tomb was a perfect place to swallow those humiliation"
3. 3:31 He actually says "my younger brothers and sisters" instead of "my siblings", which means his elder brother Chongyue is not included in his criticisms.
yea he doesn't include Chongyue probably because he knows Chongyue has already found the answer

The narration and animation so beautiful, and i can feel the anger and desperation from the 2nd sibling.
The weiqi (go) game in this video (starting at 2:11 ) is a direct reference to the 2015 MLily Cup grand final between Lee Sedol and Ke Jie. In the end of that game Ke Jie narrowly defeated Lee Sedol by using "粘劫收后" (weiqi term). What's interesting is that Ke Jie played with black stones in that game, which is what the 2nd brother splits himself into (he also plays with black in the video against the Grand Tutor). This game appears at the end of the plot as well, I'll be suprised if yostar find a good way to translate that term.
The va sounds gorgeous, hes so expressive!! Also the pv is amazing. Really love the art, the editing, everything!!

From what I understand he was influenced the most by the humiliation that Sui had been through, hence only him that hate the humans among the siblings

It's more like he hates the Sui the most and therefore wants to replace it so that he can protect the rest of the siblings. He doesn't really give a shxt to the humans (in fact, he learned most of his skills from the humans)
@@SSSTheSongs He doesnt care with humans, but he keep using them (Lee and next Jieyun) and told both Ling and Chongyue not to involved themself too much with humans. I'll say he didn't hate Sui, he only use his own way to save his siblings, especially after one of his sister gone

It's so sad seeing the 2nd siblings of Sui becoming like this, he can't never forgive himself because 5th sibling's death, he always thinking he isn't a good brother because he can't protect her.
In Asian family, the older one have to be the one who's better than the younger one, it doesn't matter whether you're a man or woman.
As an Asian, I can understand the weight of becoming the older siblings in the family, whatever happens us the older sibling have to protect our younger at all cost, protect family's dignity & become a good role model for the young one.

Funny coincidence that in my country, there's actually a village called Yan. It means cold, believed to indicate the cold rivers flowing in that village. Half of my house actually on top of one of the river, it's dried out now my dad told me his stepmother last saw it when she was a kid and it's not longer a river, it was a foot wide stream.

while this one is more of the theme concept where other people narrates instead of the playable character using regional language like il siracusano concept and now this then the laterano latin
