I am a person who is hard to be impressed, but this video reduced me to ashes, calligraphy is a very noble art that could transfer so many things withing, I am starting into this art, and hopefully someday will achieve the 1% of this master gifted hand ability.
Beautiful. Man, I wish I could do that...everytime I try to use a pointed nib, I get blobs and bombs of ink flooding out. You had a few wet lines, but it only added to the beauty of your work. Mine...not so much. LOL! Anyway, thanks for posting this. Beautiful copperplate design and execution, and a wonder to behold.
I couldn't tell where to buy things like these. It's self-made from a piece of plastic, very simple and easy to do. Also cheap ;) Have a nice weekend. Frank
This is what captivates me. The more elagant, the better. The more complex and tricky to draw....Ill be more in depth with the amazing cursive lettering art!!
Yes I did, and always do. But I'm self-educated, learning by reading, watching and talking to other handwriting people. There was no such subject in school. Cheers, Frank
Thank you. New (or unused) nibs are covered with an oil film on which ink rolls off like mercury. Flaming (for 2 or 3 seconds) cleans all oil and fat from the metal surface and after that ink runs properly. Regards, Frank
For this kind of lettering the nib should be pointed and flexible. But to use suitable ink and paper is important, too. Please have a look at the list of materials at 4:54. Cheers, Frank
@hmpeter Danke.
First of all, thanks mate. Pricing strongly depends on the complexity of the work, on how much time it takes, how many nerves ... that differs from almost nothing to almost priceless ;) I guess, you know best what price you'd be happy with. Go for it. The rest is up to the client. All the best! Frank
That's just amazing. I wonder how fluid you draw curves and how straight are lines. is there any special practice to learn it or just by time you've learnt it? you know my hand writing is awful and most of it is because my circles aren't anything like a circle and I can't draw accurate straight lines when writing at normal speed.
Thank you for your question. I "use" a great cameraman with a steady hand. His name is Steffen Padelt. Sometimes - only sometimes - he uses a tripod. That's it. Cheers. Frank
LeftGunner22 Oh yes. It is calligraphy, or now a days, calligraffiti for some. It its also used for graphic designs, but for wall paintings, flyers, poster-art etc..

First of all, nice work man!! I´m really into script, a bit more tattoo related, I also do mine first by hand then I trace on the PC, but I trace it based on circles and ovals (on the PC), making this a long process, my question is, how much do you charge?
Thank you Hash. That's two frequently asked questions. Please have a look at the comments to this video, there you'll find it answered at great length. Thanks again and kind regards. Frank
i was wondering do you do side work like calligraphy for logos and what not? im looking to have a logo done and would love to get it done soon for my brand.
What type of stencil did you use for doing the angle of the letters? Is there a certain name for it?(The pink one ///////) I'm interested in buying one of those...
Vielen Dank.
Writing and flourishing with pointed pen and ink? Sure they did, over quite a long period (16th to 19th century). Some even do till this day ;) Regards. Frank
Absolutely gorgeous video I was hoping to get a tattoo with this kind of hand writing in it do you think I could send you what I want in the tattoo and you could send it back to me all pretty and everything
If your only going to photo shop the end result why not just do it all on the computer? And don't say you can't do Calligraphy on the computer as I know for sure you can. That being said beautiful skill, concentration and technique.
this is brilliant.
Such patience and craftsmanship.
Keep up the great work!
Awesome. Beautiful, inspiring. Great result. I want to go dig out my pens and practice.
I am a person who is hard to be impressed, but this video reduced me to ashes, calligraphy is a very noble art that could transfer so many things withing, I am starting into this art, and hopefully someday will achieve the 1% of this master gifted hand ability.
Beautiful artwork! Fantastic craftsmanship. :D
Wow, watching this was THE experience. Thanks!

Awesome work - a true master artisan
ich mag diese aufzeichnung sehr :) ganz großartig ...
I can't believe that you are writing so fancy. I admire you a lot.
I love to see the full process of making something new

You said it. Usually tracing paper is too slithery, somehow like plastic. Thanks and a happy new year. Frank
Wonderful! So inspiring watching your work.
Beautiful, beautiful work.
That album cover is beautiful!
I couldn't tell where to buy things like these. It's self-made from a piece of plastic, very simple and easy to do. Also cheap ;) Have a nice weekend. Frank
This is more than handwriting, its art!
I love this video! I love this style!
Let's put it this way: there are things in life that don't like perfection. One is love. Another one is handwriting. Cheers! Frank
beautiful video and amazing talent! :)

Amazing video its beautiful...........
What an amazing technique!
Great work 😍
The lettering is so gorgeous. I would love to have you write something for me to tattoo on my body.

*heavy breathing* This... this is so beautiful...

simplemente BELLISIMO!!!!
Your calligraphy is fantastic. i would like to know why you heated the tip before you diped it in the ink?
It burns off any oils that remain after the nib is manufactured. The oils will interfere with ink flow.
How do you get your nib to flow so freely and not run out of ink?
Thank you for your question. I "use" a great cameraman with a steady hand. His name is Steffen Padelt. Sometimes - only sometimes - he uses a tripod. That's it. Cheers. Frank
wtf watching this high is amazing its so beautiful and peaceful. I have a question is this an art.
it is.

Thank you for the video, what is the stencil called ?
SUPERB!

Thank you Hash. That's two frequently asked questions. Please have a look at the comments to this video, there you'll find it answered at great length. Thanks again and kind regards. Frank
@Mephistopelus Thanks. Flame-cleaning removes the troublesome oil film, conditional of manufacturing.
Where i can buy this pen like yours pls ?
Does anyone know where I can buy calligraphy pens, handles and nibs. Preferably a uk store. I have looked for Manga pens for ages with no success :(
If you're making more than one of these, wouldn't it be easier to use vellum over the initial pencil drawing? Or does vellum not take ink very well?
i was wondering do you do side work like calligraphy for logos and what not? im looking to have a logo done and would love to get it done soon for my brand.
Vielen Dank, Julie.

What pen nib is he using?!

Thank you! I will ...
what is the nib on this pen? pls, anyone?
Curious, what kind of nib did you use for this video, it looks like it works well and i am looking for one similar.
Really cool :-)
I liked the technique 4 getting the perfect angle.
what´s the name of music??????
@freiesgrafikdesign
Which nib and ink have you used??
Writing and flourishing with pointed pen and ink? Sure they did, over quite a long period (16th to 19th century). Some even do till this day ;) Regards. Frank
whats the name of the music, artist & song????? i like to know... thanks.
What is the song that is playing?
what type of ink do you use?
Absolutely gorgeous video I was hoping to get a tattoo with this kind of hand writing in it do you think I could send you what I want in the tattoo and you could send it back to me all pretty and everything
@xXEisteeholikerXx Danke. Tut mir Leid.
Adobe Creative Suite. Cheers, Frank.
The M on Max is different...I think he is using a Leonard EF Principal nib (cross is giveaway, as well as fine hairlines and generous thicks.)
Thanks
Me too did you ever find out?
masterrrrr
@Ghandil
Vielen Dank! Siehe Credits 4:51.
shit. this is so good. D:
THAT'S BAD ASS NICE .

Also, this method might just be easier for him.
Did you study anything at all for this?
