Once the railway buggered off, thanks to Dr Beeching and that repellent individual Marples, that was it for Withernsea. I don't think it ever quite recovered. As a kid I travelled to Withernsea under steam and diesel, but once that was gone it never felt the same somehow...

It's definitely not the same place now, the railway was planned to go to easington originally but changed to withernsea
