Imagine being just a regular and clueless developer at Rare in the mid 1990s and later at Retro Studios in the 2010s just doing your job and creating the Donkey Kong Country games, and then the assets and characters you created get turned into physical attractions for one of the worlds biggest theme parks. The people at Playtonic and Retro Studios must have been incredibly proud watching that Direct.
Gentle reminder: 1. Mine Cart Madness is eligible to use single riders queue and specific Universal Express. 2. Donkey Kong Country is a part of Super Nintendo World. Therefore, the Area Timed Entry Tickets / Area Standby Entry Tickets (Lottery passed) are required to enter if necessary. You can also take the golden time (About 20 minutes after the opening of the park) by enter the park earlier to enter SNW without drawing the Area Timed Entry Ticket once. 3. The actual opening time of the park is usually earlier than the announced one. For example, the announced opening time is 8:00am, the actual opening time would be 1 hour earlier to digest the crowded queue, especially the public holidays, weekends and the following days of Western Festivals.
This was good to see! Diddy Kong plush, a DK tie, a DK mug with the drink, etc. Universal can take my cash! The amazing details with hidden gems that were seen. Another bucket inbound. Can't wait for May 2025
Lucky for Kit, Bananas are always one phone tap away ;) Hahahah, joking aside this is so insanely cool! I want to taste the banana flavored fountain ! :D Call it a Golden Banana Shower
I live in the top end of Australia and a flight from Cairns to Tokyo is 7hr and 20min at roughly $871 AUD. Then a trip down to Osaka. It's definitely on the bucket list now! The Mine Cart Roller Coaster would be my first rollercoaster as well. I don't do big rides like that usually 🍌⚒ 🍌
Disney Land better game-and-watch-out, with so much competition in the handheld market Nintendo has diversified it portfolio by expanding into the Theme Park Business!
Most of the work here is being done by Universal's designers and contractors. It's not like game devs had to delay their next game for this. And I love theme parks so...
Yes, I think you are. And do you believe that the teams making games are creating the park? Don't worry, no teams at Nintendo postponed their game to work on the park- That's Universal, not Nintendo. You don't like it, just don't go and don't watch video on it... 🤷🏼♂️
Like the Mario movie, it's something that helps expand the IP and bring connections to both people who know and love the games, and people who aren't as familiar but now will be exposed to their properties through the theme park experiences. And those latter people might go check out more of the games as a result.

5:22 That shutter sound is the exact same as the 3DS camera sound! 🤔😉
Good catch!
@squidkid9310 Thanks! 😁
I recognised it too!

The new area looks great! The fuzzy bit on the lapel mic was there to combat the wind noise, since it looked fairly windy when they were filming. 😊
The "fuzzy bit" is actually called a dead rodent. Yes, it is a strange name and I love it! 👍
@ Yeah, every production company I’ve worked with called it a “dead cat” but I figured I didn’t want to freak anyone out. 😂
Touch fuzzy, get dizzy 🤪
I am so sad that we missed this by WEEKS! 🙃
For REAL
I mean at least you guys could go to the land in May when Epic Universe opens
Verrry excited to experience all of this in Orlando (eventually)!

I love that they let you use your old band and itll make you want to go back, love the reactions!
It's neat watching them react to this knowing that they know Mister Miyamoto personally.
"This is incredible!" My thoughts, exactly. I had to rewind to see the Pikmin.
The palm trees leafs are also bananas at 2:10
Waiting for this announcement!

Disney Land better game-and-watch-out, with so much competition in the handheld market Nintendo has diversified it portfolio by expanding into the Theme Park Business!
Lol clearly that’s the reason not something that was planned even before the Switch was released
You made me hungry for a banana now
well.. guess it's time to start saving some real money....
I’m very excited about the theme park. However, I feel like it is a travesty to not have any mention of King K Rool, and the Kremlings. 😢
Here now going in a few Shibuya Parca is awesome 🤗, the pudding reccomendation was 👌

3:04 Kinda of hot in these rhinos.
😮😮😮😮
Am I the only one who just doesn't care about this stuff? They need to focus on consoles and games.
"They need to focus on consoles and games." That's not what they doing right now with the Switch 2? And the OG Switch potential final year?

Miyamoto worked on the park, but as far as I know that's it. They're a large company, nothing has been affected by them doing this
