Nice ! , I owned and loved a 1952 ES2 Norton 500cc single ( that I should have never sold ! ) and this sounds very similar , the way they should . Enjoy and thank you .
I think that exhaust mod looks better than having nothing there, it’s just a big gap without the cat there, well done it does now sound like the original bike!!! Just watch out for the noise police!!
I agree, it does fill the hole nicely and keeps the original look of the bike. I found the baffle now, so it's going in, I would of liked to hear it for myself as a pedestrian standing at the roadside , must sound amazing compared to sitting on the bike 👍
Great channel. I own a Gold Star. In the past I have owed many motorbikes, this bike is one of the best. I love what you have done to yours. Can you tell me where you get your accessories from especially the gauge raisers. Thanks,.. Keep up the great content…Andy
Great to hear you like your Gold Star. The clock raisers were from Moore Speed racing. The rear light was just a cheap one off eBay, and got this de cat second hand off the BSA forum, but they are on eBay brand new. Shocks were from Tec, but they don't do the black ones anymore 👍
It does sound like a big single should ,anyway hope you don't find the baffle 😁 Just wandering why the de cat pipe isn't just straight pipe connecting header pipe to silencer ? I know X pipe on my Thruxton is to connect pipes together to aid gas flow
@@nounoufriend1442 thanks, it sounds amazing in real life, but, I did find the baffle, if you watch my next video of me trying it in and out. Just made the pitch higher, but, quieter when I'm riding it. Think they made the cat curly, just to fill the massive void under the engine . You can get a straight through pipe, but then you have an ugly hole underneath showing 👍
@@paulsilson2148 it does sound good, even my wife never complained about the noise 😉 I never thought about leaving the plate off, might just do that. Thanks 👍
I've not noticed any performance changes, but, strangely, I think I'm getting more miles to the gallon , only filled up once, so will check mileage again on second tank full 👍
I have to say, I like most of the changes you have made so far, but this one is not one of the better ones in my opinion, I opted for the full header pipe and mufler from Moorespeed racers, it is much cleaner, and in keeping with the original goldstar.
@@thomasomahony.7394 thanks. yes, I did think about doing it that way, but when this de cat came up for sale at half price, I couldn't resist trying it out.👍
Up to now, it's been on since I got it 22 months ago, it's quite large and very easy for police and cameras to read, so maybe, they don't think I'm trying to dodge anything and let me by, fingers crossed anyway 🤞
Sorry, I don't know what is legal or not. But , doesn't ulez work on registration plates, so surely the camera would register as everything still ok🤔 I won't be having it remapped as I'm informed the ECU does it automatically, and at the moment, it's behaving nicely.
Love what you've done to the bike! Far closer sounding and looking like the original than stock, good job!
@@mikepopelka2349 thanks, I've tried to get it as close as I can to the original , I just need to make some Rear Sets now, no one sell them yet 👍

well done on another in depth video on de-cating the Gold Star and with minimal tools too.☝

Sounds much better...I bought the fuel x unit from the same seller
I nearly purchased it, but thought I'd try the De-Cat without it first.
Probably have to go and buy one later though 👍
Nice job…bike looks great😀👍
Thanks, 👍
Excellent infomative entertainment. Cheers
Thank you for your kind comments 👍

Thanks
Love from India :)
Thank you very much 👍

sounds like a motorbike !!!!!
Thanks, it definitely does now 😁👍
Some better tools would help, messing around with them micky mouse tools, Ask santa for a nice Halfords socket set for xmas.
I'll show this message to Santa, I mean the wife 😁👍

Mate, I gotta hear that machine of your with just the rear baffle reinstalled..
As soon as I find it out of my shed, I will post a small video of the new sound, can't wait to see what it will sound like 👍
it must be faster now with the weight from the cat off .🥳
Not for long, with Christmas coming up, I'll add the extra pounds on to replace it 😂🎉
Job done but for your neighbours sake, and your dogs, I hope you find the baffle. 🙉
Still looking, when it stops raining, I can empty the contents of the shed onto the garden 😆👍
Hi, where did you get the rear shocks? They look great!
From Tec last year, £80, but they don't sell them anymore.
Hitchcock's motorcycles do an hagon version in black, but they are £300 big difference 👍
Yikes, that's a bit steep!

@awesomeappleby5923 possibly think it's an old bike!
the pipe sensors adjust the injection to suit?
come MOT time, the cat has to be reinstalled obviously.
sounds fruity, veery nice.
Thanks, I don't know what the MOT rules are for a cat, I know there's no emissions on a bike.
but I've got 2 years left to find out👍
Mot does not require a cat to be fitted on a UK motorcycle.
So will it be illegal without the cat? Will it be ok to use in ULEZ areas? Will you be having the ECU remapped?
Sorry, I don't know what is legal or not.

😂,👍
I starting to get bored now it won't beat my mixer 1000

Does it need a cat to pass its mot ?
Don't think motorcycles in UK need one for MOT.
No MOT emissions test on two wheeled vehicles 👍🏻
Not yet, but I reckon the clock is ticking on that one.
that's not loud I had a tl 1000 r that did shake you ears that's puney compared to my tl 1000 ha ha
