I've been in the same situation myself in a well manicured upper middle class suburban street and asked the woman who pulled up in her driveway with her teenage daughter and she said no and the result for me was disaster.

There are so many safe places to sneak a pee if you are creative. One is a large apartment complex with a large parking lot. No chance of raising suspicions because it looks like you or your passengers may live there. Just find an empty spot in the middle. I have gotten tips from grateful passengers for literally saving them in the wee hours! LOL

Yeah I pee outside all the time and I don’t care if anyone sees me I just love pissing outside I mainly only use the regular indoor bathroom when I have to take a dump
