The CSL is now sold. Thank you to everyone that made offers on the car. I'm completely blown away by the number of people that wanted it. I'm happy to say it's going to a very good home.
I fully understand your reasons for selling a few cars. Too many are a distraction. It's good to see Driftworks growing. Personally I think your YT audience are waiting more V10 E46 vids. 👍🏻s up again Phil
Yeah, ‘he’s going bankrupt’ was indeed my first thought when the camera turned to the slammed-itb’ed-manual murci haha.. That CSL is a beautiful car aswell, really like the colour on it. Would love to own one, one day!
That's a steal for the csl. I have no patience for selling cars either. People love to waste others time for days/weeks just to lowball in the end. I respect that you'd rather see cars being driven and enjoyed instead of collecting dust, like too many cars do. Some people sit on cars and wait for prices to get astronomical others have a fear of missing out on owning cars before they'll become unobtainable for them, yet most of them rarely get used. I absolutely rather see the cars on the streets and at events rather than sitting in the back of people's workshops 👍
6:31 my wheels are in those containers 😎 if i was in your position i would be just selling the utility vehicles, rs6-silverado-big trailer etc, use the spare money after buying another tow vehichle on a home extension or some barn in the countryside to keep all the personal / sentimenal vehicles together to be truely apprectied, outside of your work space. driftworks still has many many more years ahead, plenty more money to be made, and more importantly memories. imagine when your daughter is a little bit older and you can recreate some of your greatest moments in the blue gt3 with her, even older a duo track day or road trip across europe in both gt3s.
Seems like the right time to sell at the peak of the market, and the CSL is an example that will always lose monetary value when modified. Cannot blame you in the slightest in selling it. Especially as you put it, "It should be someone's pride and joy" and it simply doesn't make monetary sense to heavily modify - which is clearly your passion Phil - and so you may never get the same fulfillment as another potential owner. Have to say, it seems a very selfless decision to part ways with a modern classic like the CSL, I can only applaud you in giving someone else the joy in owning it. Hope this means your current builds will have a bit more budget behind them, and that we may see another build or two to come with the standard you've set. In all truth, you've built a garage full of the best of the best, built to your own exacting standard that any enthusiast would lust after.
I'm glad to see somebody that truly likes cars as in not hoarding them and knowing they are meant to be driven. So, if selling them means that they will get used, I can understand that.
Just a though, Phil; the Impala is pretty good for family outings, as long as you just put some Isofix brackets in it. I believe a mate of mine bought his Isofix brackets straight from ford, for a focus, and put them in the back of his 70's BMW. Works a treat 👍
Selling both trailers, the Silverado and picking up a cab over engine, flat bed tow truck could give you a lot more space. Maybe one from Japan with a really low ramp angle.
Nice genuine car phill don’t think it will be around long video tells all really some times we make excuses to ourselves to keep our toys needs must genuine reason admire ur honesty 👍🏻
Car storage is always a option, I think umberslade would be the best option for your location BUT expensive, E M Rogers also offer the same service with collection and delivery. I would say it’s time for a location move but your location is brilliant (and close to Craig) Still one of the best collections of cars on TH-cam even with this sold
The M3 CSL would be a dream car for a mere peasant like me, sadly you need proper money to own one of these. Good luck with the sale though, beautiful car collection :)
Phil your doing the right thing, sometimes you just have to be brutal and you'll be better for it mate. The baggage that just comes with a car can be tedious never mind a fleet. At this point you've just gotta think seat time and enjoyment. Although the CSL and 997 are some of my favourite cars. I totally understand.
The paint on the calipers is from when someone bleed the brakes and allowed some fluid on the paint and didn't clean it properly or quickly enough and it caused it to bubble and dissolve slightly. Common on bbk when done by the owner or someone not used to painted calipers
Good luck with the sale of your cars. I understand where you coming from and your thinking behind selling the cars. I think you've chosen the right cars to sell. Glad the lambo, the v10 m3 and the e30 m3 isn't going anywhere.
Perfect CSL to do a manual swap. Look at Audi SQ7 as it has same tow capacity as the Cayenne Turbo but at a much lower price point, at least in the US. Basically the same platform and engine.
The Impala will be a good car for drives with Hannah when she is older, find somewhere to display it longer term until you are ready to use it with the family.
If they made them with the manual transmission it would be up there but no way can an SMG car ever be in the top 10. Here’s my top 10, no particular order: 10. E46 M3 manual 9. 3.0 CSL 8. 2002 tii 7. M1 6. Z8 5. M635csi 4. E28 M5 3. E39 M5 2. E30 M3 Sport Evo 1.E92 M3 manual
I don't know how anyone can have more than 1 project car on the go. But having them all taxed and insured Gawd, that gets expensive real fast. Don't blame you for having a whittle down, and be nice to have some decent space to move stuff around easier, cash back in the bank
Get rid of the gt3, it will be a possible mile stone for someone else. If you have a gut feeling of getting rid of it. Do it. Maybe have someone just make it a scale model car of it for you. As a reminder. I was about to purchase a 997 manual turbo for a discounted price because he was a good friend of my father and the car was a milestone for him. But Covid happened. It was gonna be a milestone for me :/.
Total get what you saying about it not being good having it in your head , I had 14 cars at one point in my workshop big plans for them all , it go way to much , now down to 3 and headache free
TH-cam video title for a year or so's time: "I buy back my M3 CSL and Blue GT3!" Are you sure this isn't a decision you'll regret at a later date Phil? Not like you've haven't got previous for that sort of thing....! ;)
Another great video, trailer wise the triaxle 16ft Woodford is unreal to tow and the tilt version is great with the 8ft ramps for lowered cars and ofcourse the 7ft7 wide will suit the lambo
That bird in the 206 really got in your head Phil 😂 on a serious note are van sales people included in that hate attack at the end (asking for a friend).
I would just put it up for auction with collecting cars or the market, although I don’t have experience of doing that I would have thought it would be the least hassle, especially given your asking.
I'd love the csl my dream car but like you as we had our daughters around the same time i bought a sensible i30n.............. Kids do change your mind on things and the blue porka needs to go imo also you've 2 others to use. I'd probably try collecting cars but dont think it will hang around long
do you need less cars or do you need to add a 2nd floor on that building haha. if you ever sell that chev and trailer maybe you need a japanese rollback truck? perfect for the low cars. dont know what kinda hoops you need to jump through for light trucks in the uk?
That´s a great deal for a usable drivers CSL. Plus in a couple of Years Phil´s gonna buy it back. Don´t worry, I´ll stick around unless you sell Viten or the Lambo. I wouldn´t sell the 997 and Chevy Minaj either. You know, you´re gonna buy both back if you do.
It would be so difficult to sell that CSL , but the other stuff I can totally see it. Idk, the RS6 with the small trailer would be nice to have if needed. Def. don't cave and buy an SUV lemme guess , the wife? SUVs are the bane of the existence of cool cars nowadays. I refuse to ever buy or even drive one, hate them.
Nah it's me. She's already got a Macan GTS which we love. I was the same, refused to buy an SUV, but nothing has tow capacity & daily comfort like an SUV.
It’s a nice problem to have. With your GT3’s… is the new one getting used more because it’s new, or has the blue one really fallen out of love and become superfluous?
It's definitely because it's new, but also because it's better in every single way. The 997 is incredible, but this is just more, without having lost any of the GT3 character. I said a while back somewhere that as controversial as it is; I thought my 991 GT3 was better than my 997.
The CSL is now sold. Thank you to everyone that made offers on the car. I'm completely blown away by the number of people that wanted it. I'm happy to say it's going to a very good home.
Came back to this video to see if it went already 😆
Well done, should help fund the v10 manifolds
Lucky guy not only buying a csl but what he payed
Apologies for the reupload. Something went wrong with the upload & it didn't notify subscribers. Hope you enjoy. Phil.
What are the wheels on the floor in front of the Lamborghini ?
Would you sell the E46 v10. Im interested and I would love and keep it forever.

Unlikely the buyer of the M3 will go to a driver. Will probably end up in the hand of a collector for investment purposes
I respect this so much, cars are meant to be driven not sit around like a life sized toy car just to be looked at it or in the name of “collection”

Respect for the reasoning behind selling!
I'm fairly confident they'll go to good hands. Excited to see what's next.
your explanation for the sale makes total sense to me.
Hey Phil - love your straightforwardness and sincerity. We all experience changes in our life situations; great to see you addressing them head on.
