Just wanted to say thank you for all the videos and help you have brought to the car community. Without videos like yours my chevelle would be a paper weight. Thank you for all the educational videos good sir
Also, have you ever heard of the Caddywagen? About 20 years ago, a guy mated a 500 cubic inch Cadillac drivetrain out of a 70-something Eldorado into a Bug. Believe it or not, the frame rails nearly matched perfectly!
Yo Chris, I was wondering if you could eventually put up a video on how to wire in a cigarette lighter in an old (60s) vehicle application. Possibly draw it all out like you have on some of your other wiring videos. Explaining what gauge wire is best, whether you need an inline fuse or not, what amperage fuse to use, etc. I am struggling and keep blowing fuses in mine. Thank you so much in advance!
Chris quick question, do you know if a LED replacement bulb will work in the place of the 194 dummy light bulb in 1966 A-body dash (3 wire internally regulated alternator)? I.E. will the car still shut off with the LED, or just leave in the 194 to be safe? Thanks for your videos, very helpful! Bob in Michigan
Hey Chris! Do you have an email I could reach you at to ask some questions about my custom VW BUS w/ a Toyota 22R. I need some electrical help. I would greatly appreciate it! Love your channel! One question I have is, I’m wiring in a high output alternator and I have a wire in place for the lamp terminal. My bus ignition switch doesn’t have an extra accessory terminal. Where can I wire the IG terminal on my alternator to? Where would be a good 12v source other than ignition switch? Is there another option? I was told to wire “S” terminal straight to (+) post on BAT. So to my understanding, I’ll have -2GA Charge wire from ALT lug to (+) post on battery. -“L” terminal on ALT to dash light. -“S” terminal on ALT to (+) post on Battery. -“IG” terminal on ALT is in question? I know it needs 12v switch power. My 72 VW Bus has original harness, and ceramic fuse panel. My concern is burning/melting my electrical system, with hooking up this high output alternator. I’ve watched your videos multiple times and I’m learning something new every time, I would greatly appreciate the help!
I’m looking at a 200amp alternator to run sound system, heater, dual fans, cb radio, PA system. This bus is getting setup as overlander rig. I’m looking at a LCE high output alternator that is 200amp, with a 3 terminal connection(L,S,IG) Or GM 12SI or CS144 alternator 200amp built by quality power auto. If I could email you that would be great. I can send links to where I’m getting some info for my 22r application
@@ethandomantay4926 focus on the alternator upgrade.. can that toyota engine even turn that big gm alternator.. ? im sure it will cause a HUGE drag.. i only know facts about exsiting things.. you are looking at CUSTOM work in which they will need to see the project in real life..
