Very nice, coming from 20 years of old school bucking strap and spurs, I absolutely love how the industry has evolved and actually gotten people thinking outside the box and producing some quality equipment
One nice thing about the floater is that depending on which side u have the prusik on depends on which side u will be able to move around the 🌳 while not being able to move the other way. The opposite is true if u just slide the prusik to the opposite side of the 🌳 in front of u b4 locking the carabiner onto it. I find myself using the floater more when I'm done removing branches & the top of the 🌳. Mostly cuz I switch from the electric saw to the heavier gas power saw. It just adds that extra stability when u r high up in a naked 🌳 need to get into a solid position to pull start that gas saw.
B4 I knew it was called a floater I just called it a choker. Choking off your lanyard onto the 🌳 for added stability & a rock solid position that doesn't allow u to slide over to the wrong side of the tree.
Nice. This is almost exactly what I run as well. I love the capabilities with two lanyard systems on one rope; and the extra length of rope that’s also organized on my Keeper.
The link below will redirect you to the Keeper. It comes with screws and works perfect for medium to long lanyard setups. www.bartlettman.com/products/the-k1-keeper?_pos=1&_sid=2e7adcc5a&_ss=r
Thanks for the tips. I usually just double wrap my flipline around the small, sketchy, spars. I do like the choke or float option. I’ve been meaning to try it. I think I will give it a go. Oh yeah that t-shirt is awesome 🤙
Hello At minute 2:00 of your video I see an attachment for the harness where you give a better functionality to the lanyard, what is the name of the tool and how can I get it? greetings
That would be the K-1 Keeper, now made by Teufelberger. We do stock this item in our warehouse. This is the link will direct you to it >>> www.bartlettman.com/products/the-k1-keeper?_pos=1&_sid=d0a3dfe50&_ss=r
@@BartlettArboristSupply Thank you very much for answering, in fact I had already seen the name in another of your videos because it interests me a lot and I have learned many things from you. Greetings and thanks again.
Like the safety break away with the mini carabiner. Is there a preferred cordage strength for the break away, or is it the mini carabiner that is supposed to break?
the carabiner is in theory the weakest link, but 4-5 kn is still a lot of weight. Obviously you would never run a breakaway on your primary system, or alone without a main tie in. I’ve heard of climbers using two zip ties when worried about barber chairs or other breakaway-necessary hazards. safe climbing!
This is the link that will take you directly to the website www.bartlettman.com However, Abdon has a plethora of equipment on his harness... 🤣! So, searching for the items via search bar on the site, might be the best route to take.
OP, is the XSRE carabiner on the thimble strong enough for directional positioning when leaning to the right or left? I k kw it's rated for 4 kn. You most likely aren't creating 900 lbs of pressure on the thimble when you lean away from it would you? I would really appreciate some guidance. Thanks!
The Keeper is a slack adjuster to keep the lanyard from going all over the place. Here is the link if you would like to check it out >> www.bartlettman.com/products/the-k1-keeper?_pos=1&_sid=c1887c002&_ss=r
Why, while you're explaining, you need a helmet and goggles??? After all, you are on the ground 😄 And by the way, haven't you heard of the grab effect when falling? If you grab the prusik... 😬
I use a steel cor lanyard nothing fancy and if not that one I have a 16 foot rope one nothing fancy on it and hasn't stopped me from being able to complete my jobs too much to think about high tie in and a lanyard is all you need daisy chain the slack up u don't need a stupid k1 keeper for Jack shit besides draining ur wallet and adding more weight to ur harness

Good video as usual, very informative.
Some really good ideas here. Thanks for the inspiration.
That's a pretty tight and neat multi-use long lanyard setup! Thank's for sharing.

Always ready for a zip. As groundy i love that.

Me too . Doesn't always work good though
It’s good to have OPTIONS!
Gave me some ideas , thanks 👍🏻 🇨🇦🇺🇸
What kind of safety glasses are those?
I need that T-shirt!!!!
What is the name of this green lanyard, it is cool!
That was a section of Yale Arrow Frog that Abdon had sent out to get sewn eyes.

Has that harness or anything on it EVER seen a days work ? 😂 It may as well have the swing tags on it
Ur mad lmao
You don’t clean your saddle ?
New climber here,
Can i use a prussic with ring instead of a Thimble?
Sure can!
cool video. what glasses are those? anzi rated? good anti fog?
OP...what is that black thing that you dettached and reattach 1:53? i would like a setup like your lanyard setup

So where can I get all of this stuff?
Which keeper is the one you're using?
The Keeper seen in this video is the original K1 Keeper before Teufelberger acquired it.
Beast mode!
Abdon's awesome! woot!
Respect 👊🦥
Extra clips for second lanyard
Buenos días una pregunta que clase de saddle es esa marca y estilo por favor
Can I get a link on everything that's on that belt?

There is no information in the description box about the lanyard tender you “advertise”…???
Apologies, that should be the K1-Keeper.
Product link?
For which item specifically?
Actually I found it it’s the k1 keeper rite ?
I’m fascinated by it
Will it function with steel core ?
I want to say no because of the stiff nature of wire core.

How long is that lanyard?
Roughly 18'
Is there really a need for that much gear if you need something take it or ask for it surprised there’s not a grease gun on there
Where do you put your chainsaw?
Shembiner on the opposite side of the harness, away from textiles.

I understand that 100%! Slowly but surely, it all comes; patience is key.
WHERE CAN I GET THOSE GLASSES ? DO YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES W FOG ? THANKS
@@BartlettArboristSupply Thanks
next level
Really using that employee discount i see lmao
You could just run the SRT carabiner through a munter hitch rather then the thimble
I would get tangled up in all that stuff and get stuck in the tree. Looks very confusing.
It's actually quite simple, but the important take away here is knowing YOUR own gear.
Thanks for commenting and safe climbing.
sound isnt working'

The gear isn't for everyone. To each their own.
The K1 Keeper is dope for lanyard management, it basically weighs nothing, and it's only $50. I like any piece of gear/tool that makes my life easier.
espanol pariente!!!
So, now you have a bunch of loops just asking to get caught up in branches. Stupid. Daisy chain your lanyards. Thank me later.
Way too much shit for tree work
It's just a basic 2-in1 lanyard to provide better positioning.
