If it went to points then it would have to be Bivol but i really cannot see how Bivol could avoid Beterbiev for 12 rounds, based on that im going Beterbiev by stoppage rounds 8-10
My guess is either Bivol outworks Bieterbiev every round by quite a lot of punches, or Bivol performs badly on the night possibly cracks under the pressure and fear after he feels Bieterbiev’s power and murderous intent. Can’t wait for this and Wardley Clarke 2!
I have always backed beterbiev to win but i'm exactly like dave i have changed my mind and going for bivol on points. Younger, quicker, fresher fighter with less injuries. It makes sense when you think about it.
Both are exceptionally talented. Bivol has the more appealing personality and I want him to win but Beterbiev is very destructive. Teddy Atlas does a good review on the fight on TH-cam in my opinion.
I find it very strange how so many people seem to underplay Beterbiev’s boxing skills. For me he is only slightly below or very nearly equal to Bivol’s skill level, it’s just that he uses his skills in a very different way. He works to an offensive plan, which means he is more prone to taking a few while laying the groundwork to ultimately crush his opponent. Bivol works very differently in that he uses offence but with an eye on defence at all times. The question isn’t so much Beterbiev’s age in my opinion, because he hasn’t had any massively ageing fights and has lived the life. It’s more can Bivol withstand the extreme level of offence that Beterbiev will bring. He could as he is extremely well skilled, but he will need to show more power than he has thus far to get Beterbiev’s respect. Personally, I’d make Beterbiev a slight favourite because he has more experience, a better resume, and much more strength and power. Bivol needs to fight the perfect fight, whereas I think Beterbiev can afford to use consistent pressure then up the intensity on an occasional basis to conserve energy. This approach will I think result in Bivol being ahead early, Beterbiev slowly coming back into it by the middle rounds, and then get on top in rounds 9-12. So if it goes to points the winner will be a toss of a coin, but my money is on a Beterbiev KO in rounds 10 or 11.

I see it as basic probability. Bivol is the better boxer, but not that much better than Beterbiev won't get to him at some point. And while Beterbiev is hittable, I don't think Bivol has enough pop to keep him off, so expect AB to do what he does, maul Bivol and take a late TKO. That's assuming Beterbiev is fully fit though, as Bivol will look to box smart and drag him around the ring. Beterbiev's pressure is similar to Canelo in ways, but whilst Bivol handled that well in terms of the style, Beterbiev has better feet, hits harder and and can use his size to get to Bivol's body.

For me Beterbiev is bigger, way more powerful and Bivol got tagged by Canelo a lot, you cant get hit like that by Arthur. He is also prepared to walk through shots to get his off
